Time of Reading ... Hotel, 6:20 to 6:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (The formula given [1000] on July 4, 1936 for a fur freshener, Fur-Fluff. You will answer the questions which will be presented regarding this product and its proper preparation.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the information here.
2. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) What is the Chlorine Acid which should be used in this product commonly known as? (A) As was indicated, it is the weak solution of the Chlorine in water; or chlorous acid and then this is reduced. It is the common chlorous acid that is used, you see, and then a twenty percent solution of this; or twenty parts of water to one part of the chlorous acid.
4. (Q) Please give formula. (A) It's the regular formula for chlorous acid!
5. (Q) Where can chlorous acid be obtained, as the druggist cannot find it? (A) Anyone who makes chemicals can make chlorous acid!
6. (Q) If electricity is passed through this product in the liquid state will it improve its effectiveness? (A) Electrical forces for THIS product would be made into the product ready for use. Preferably apply the ultra-violet to the finished product, for two to two and one-half minutes, thirty inches from the product, and this stirred while this is being applied - NOT run through.
The activity of this, as has been given, is that the varied forms in the combination would work for cleansing; as the chlorous acid is to preserve the color, as the tar or the Oil of Pine is to be used AS the cleanser, while Boric acid as given is for cleansing and to prevent sticking. The electrifying, through the combination with the sawdust of leather that would be held to and dusted through so that all properties are as electrified, would re-enliven the furs to which this product would be applied. And this product would

be helpful to ANY type of fur or hair!
7. (Q) What quantity of the product should be treated at a time? (A) That as would be a regular run, dependent upon the production and how it is to be produced. This may be in a gallon or five gallon quantity or fifty thousand gallons. It is one and the same, if the electrifying and the proportions are in the manner as given. The amount of the sawdust or the leather dust would be sufficient to make same so that it sifts or is able to be carried THROUGH the fur, see?
8. (Q) What proportion of this liquid product should be added with the leather dust? (A) As has just been given! The leather dust is added until it is sufficient to be handled in WHATEVER MANNER IT IS TO BE USED, see? This depends upon whether it's going to be applied by hand, to be sprinkled on, to be rubbed on, to be sifted on, or what!
9. We are through for the present.
