Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Body and enquiring mind, in regard to her Fur-Fluff preparation and getting it marketed; also in regard to her material affairs in general and material well-being. Ques.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [1000]; and those conditions that surround the body in the mental and the material, and those relationships as to marketing the preparation - the Fur-Fluff.
2. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) I have in my hand a formula showing the exact analysis of the chlorine as prepared in Norfolk. Is this correct according to previous instructions given in the Reading, so that I can place my orders in accordance with this formula? (A) This is correct if there are to be the changes in the carrier for the cleanser. This naturally in its preparation and in its use upon various types of furs will require some experimentation, and in the experimentation not so much change in the type of the formula but as to the atmospheric pressure, temperature and the like under which the preparations are applied. For as has been indicated and as is seen and understood, furs of every type are subject to atmospheric pressure and MOISTURE in the air in same, see? Hence in the cleaning, while not at too great a temperature but it will be found that in the applications of these, these should be done under or in those activities where the temperature is kept at a nominal or normal but above - and then more of a dry atmosphere; and we will find these will make for much better applications of those suggestions that have been made. As to the formulas, follow those things that have been given.
1000-17 Page 2
As to the use of other properties rather than the leather dust, or sawdust of same, the corn as we find and its product will be correct, but this will require a different type of application - especially as to the pressures as indicated.
4. (Q) Shall we adopt this as a carrier? (A) This is as has been indicated.
5. (Q) I have had the formula renewed and the odor is definitely of pine needles and much pleasanter than the original and the color white. How shall I specify this pine oil when ordering from the wholesaler? (A) That as has been given as to the type and character of same. Name as given is specific.
6. (Q) As the orris root flour suggested in the last Reading does not eliminate the odor and has a tendency to dry up the oils which would hinder the sale of the product, can the Forces suggest some ingredient which would not only overcome the odor, but would add a slightly perfumed odor? (A) Oil of Peppermint. And the proportions of this will be governed by the variations in the applications or experimentations with same. Not a great deal at first and gradually a little bit less or more - what is necessary for the removal of the odors of the other oils and the additions of the varied preparations.
7. (Q) After combing out the fur with a bone comb, as suggested, the fur remained lusterless, so I added the juice of the Chinese bark which is used by furriers for glazing. If this is correct to use as glazer, shall I add it to the liquid or to the finished product? What quantity? (A) This is very well, and this as we find will be an addition and helpful to it, but will require experimentation as to the QUANTITY used in same, see?
8. (Q) Shall I add it to the liquid or to the finished product? (A) Finished product would be the better.
9. (Q) Would a few drops of iodine added to the formula help to restore the color to the fur? (A) We wouldn't add iodine; this would have a tendency to make for turning brown later.
10. (Q) Is there anything you can advise? (A) As has been indicated, those oils as given, and the luster as has been indicated - these would be the better as we find.
11. (Q) Are the combs as secured from Howard Chichester, 431 Seventh Ave., N.Y.C., which are called "horn" but are said to be made of bone the right kind to use? If not, where can the proper bone combs be obtained? (A) These would be satisfactory.

12. (Q) As it is so difficult to obtain a suitable glass or porcelain bottle with a shaker top, is it possible to obtain a metal can treated or lined which will not affect the product? or should the glass ideal be adhered to? Which one is advisable? Please name sources of each. (A) This would necessitate some experimentation also. This may be POSSIBLE, but it would require that there either be a cellophane over a lead foil or of that nature, else we would find that from any metal we would have the setting up of a reaction from the properties in the solution. Lead foil and cellophane. Lead foil to the can and cellophane, or there may be some composition - as of the preparations from those, by the makers of cellophane, see?
13. (Q) Would you suggest where I can obtain the suitable container? (A) Use the other if this is found to be more convenient, as has been given. Don't try to combine. Find what you want and then use that.
14. (Q) When maroon and white was suggested for the printing matter, in what way were the colors meant to be used? What color container shall we use? (A) Maroon and white would be the colors of the covering for the package itself, see? Maroon and printed in white, or white and printed in maroon; either, whichever is preferable to the body itself. These colors, as we find, would combine and make for a better condition for the whole thing concerned.
15. (Q) How many ounces of the product should be sold for a dollar? (A) This as we find should be something like about three or three and a half ounces. Three ounces would be the better. We wouldn't make a less than a dollar size proposition.
16. (Q) Is the ultra violet ray mercury quartz lamp put out by the Hanovia Chemical Mfg. Co. of Newark for home use the correct lamp for me to purchase? (A) This is correct lamp to be purchased to be used in the manner as has been given.
17. (Q) Will two and one half minutes be sufficient to electrify the product with this lamp? (A) Two and one-half minutes.
18. (Q) Is the [1246] Agency with her assistant Mr. Hoins [Jack Hoins] the proper channel for me to use to put this product on the market. (A) This would be well.
19. (Q) As I expect to start in a very small way, would their initial charges be reasonable enough for me to start with them? (A) They should be. This depends to be sure upon how WELL
1000-17 Page 4
the proposition is presented to this agency and the future the agency sees in same.
20. (Q) Would the expenses which I would incur in following their advice and counsel for the distribution of this product be justified in the ultimate success of this business on a profitable basis? (A) As we find if these are the correct ones, as has been indicated, then this would indicate that their abilities to present the same would justify the outlay for the whole of the operation.
21. (Q) If we cannot afford the [1246] Agency, would Lila Wareham of 444 E. 52nd St., N.Y.C. be the right advertising medium for marketing the product? (A) Not so good.
22. (Q) As the advice received from my brother Joe and from [417] was not constructive would it be advisable - (A) (interrupting) Be well for the body to consider same. Do not consider because these DISAGREE with yourself and with that undertaking that this is not of a constructive nature. But weigh well all of the propositions and all of the pitfalls as were presented through the various conversations with them. Advise with them again. Do not, as it were, bow to them - but advise with them; ye may find ye may gain a great deal from them.
23. (Q) Should I retain Wm. Abramson, lawyer, 120 B'way, N.Y.C., both as copyright and advisory attorney? (A) Well, this depends - of course - upon how far it is to be carried and as to what the propositions would be. As we find the lawyer should be satisfied with not an outlay of a great deal of money but rather ride WITH the proposition. Should be willing to, and unless this lawyer is we wouldn't do it. Let it be represented by so much stock in the company, see?
24. (Q) Would attorney suggested by Mr. Hoins of the [1246] Agency be better? and keep Abramson as my advisor? (A) This would be very well, and in either case - whichever is chosen - he should be willing to carry on in that way and manner.
25. (Q) Are there any other suggestions or advice which will help me start this project concerning the factory, Assistants, and otherwise? (A) If these are to be presented by an agency, first the proposition is, there should be sufficient experimentation with the preparation itself, of the natures that they become not so much creating a condition that would make for detrimental effects to the properties themselves. And this
1000-17 Page 5
portion should be worked out first, see? Then as to the manner of the handling, and as to the propositions and the way of marketing, this would be left more with the Agency and with the advice of the attorneys and concerning same. Do not have it copyrighted or patented until this is in at least a way and manner that would ASSURE THE SELF, but do not allow to go so far with the experimentations that they would get out of the hands of the body itself.
26. (Q) What course is best to pursue with my jewelry now with the Providence Loan Society, 736 Seventh Ave., N.Y.C., redeem it now, wait another year, or drop it altogether? (A) We haven't the jewelry. We would carry on, though, in the way that would insure that there is the protection for self through the handling of these.
27. (Q) Is there anything I can do to better home conditions? (A) That ye give, that ye receive. That ye make for others, that others will make for you. Keep these in mind. Know that self nor others may be changed in a moment, but that with an ideal - not merely an idea, for thy ideal is of a spiritual import. Keep that before self, and we would find conditions on the improve.
28. (Q) Should I try to redeem my jewelry, now, wait another year, or drop it altogether? (A) Wait another year, and you'll have sufficient - if these are carried on in the proper manner - to redeem anything or buy much more if you want to!
29. (Q) Any other advice at this time? (A) Keep optimistic! DO NOT condemn others.
