Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Ill. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1009].
2. As we find, there are abnormal conditions in the physical functioning of this body; yet many of these have become rather of a constitutional nature and may be alleviated though not wholly or entirely eliminated from the system - save by a continued persistence and consistence on the part of the body, with the application of that which may be constitutionally revivifying to the body.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1009].
4. In the BLOOD SUPPLY we find there are conditions that are disordered between the superficial and the deeper circulation or there is a slowing of the circulation through the capillaries and through the superficial activities in the body.
5. Hence we have a condition causing the inability of the body's proper movements, or becoming involuntary in its movements at times through the locomotories; and at times this is indicated in other portions of the body.
6. These conditions in the blood supply arose first, primarily, from a catarrhal condition in the soft tissue of the face and head; then DESCENDED, as it were, through the circulation to the digestive area.
7. Thence the eliminations have been disturbed, so that there have been periods of congestions through the liver, the caecum, with slow activity in the liver's activity as related to digestive forces; producing then a lack of elements that made for the fastening of the circulatory forces as related to the lymph and emunctory activities of the body.
8. Hence we have the skin or the epidermis, and the portions of the body itself, apparently SEPARATING; producing through this condition an irritation, a rash even at times when considerable portion of the body is affected by same; when
1009-1 Page 2
an irritation is produced by rubbing or scratching; or the body is easily bruised, or spots may appear - especially on the extremities and on other portions of the body.
9. These, then, in their changes affect many of the organs sympathetically in their functioning. Then naturally the centers in the coordinating between the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic systems become involved in same.
10. As we find, these are the disturbing forces with this body, [1009].
11. In meeting the needs of the conditions, then, as we find in the present:
12. We would prepare a mixture to be taken internally, as follows; adding together: Sulphur...................2 level tablespoonsful, Cream of Tartar...........2 level tablespoonsful, Epsom Salts...............2 level tablespoonsful. Stir these well together.
13. Each morning before the meal is taken, take a level teaspoonful of the mixture in a glass of water.
14. Also we would prepare a rub for the body, over the cerebrospinal system particularly, consisting of equal parts Olive Oil, Russian White Oil and Compound Tincture of Benzoin (heat the Olive Oil to add the others). Shake this solution well, as the ingredients will tend to separate.
15. Each evening before retiring, massage just what the body will absorb, particularly over the whole of the cerebrospinal system - and mostly over the lumbar and sacral area, the central or dorsal area, and the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th dorsal, the brachial center, 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal, and over the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cervical area. Of course, this is almost the whole length, but these centers specifically; for they will be found to be somewhat tender in some and taut in others. Massage only what the body absorbs.
16. When the whole quantity of the mixture has been taken internally, rest from same for two weeks - and from taking the rubs also; and begin with the diathermy SLOWLY given, or LOW rather than high, but taken about three times each week for TWO weeks.
17. Then begin again with the compound as indicated, and the rub again.
18. It would be very well for there to be taken every other day a quarter teaspoonful of the Alcaroid; and once or twice a week take two of the Caroid and Bile Salts tablets. Preferably the Alcaroid would be taken just after the
1009-1 Page 3
evening meal, and the Caroid tablets just before retiring.
19. We would be mindful of the diet. Keep those things that, while body and blood building, do not carry large quantities of starch or too much of carbohydrates.
20. Do these, and after taking the second quantity of the compound, then we would give further instructions.
21. Ready for questions.
22. (Q) Where should the diathermy be applied? (A) As is normal for most of these treatments. Let same be applied by the operator, which will be - of course - to the upper dorsal and the liver area.
23. (Q) Will he be entirely free from this condition? (A) As indicated, it will be materially aided; but will take persistence and consistence, being continually "at it," as it were, for a time, to eliminate entirely. Do these for the present, and then we would give further instructions in those periods when this course of treatments has been completed.
24. We are through for the present. Copy to Mr. [877] " " Ass'n file (9/25/35 GD's notes: See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to Electrotherapist for giving the diathermy treatments, when the time comes for them. Let us know when the second round has been completed, so we may make appointment for Check Reading to give further instructions.)
