Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1012].

2. Now, as we find, conditions in many ways are not serious in the present; yet there is such a complication or combination of disturbances that unless some precautions are taken in the correct direction these are very sure to become VERY disturbing conditions. But taken in the present, as we find, they may be eradicated from the body.

3. These have to do with specific disturbances that arise from a very much disturbed circulation, from an impoverishment in the blood supply.

4. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [1012] we are speaking of:

5. As indicated, there is a very much disturbed condition in the BLOOD SUPPLY. This is indicated in the superficial circulation, where impairments of the coordination between the lymph and the deeper circulation and the superficial make for blemishes on parts of the body.

6. And as indicated on the left side more specifically, there is a skin tumor that arises; or arose from a bruised condition there from a lick or from striking against the corner of something. And the disturbed condition settled there.

7. Also the disturbance in the blood supply is indicated through the spots, or indications in the lung area of there having been spots where infectious forces cause an irritation and a weakness; pains at times, very disturbed circulation through the throat and bronchi. And these, of course, are a contributory cause to those disturbances in the soft tissue of the face, the head, and the eyes give trouble at times.

8. These, then, are both reflex and specific conditions that must be met; not only locally - as for specific application - but requiring that the PURIFICATION of the blood supply is made to such an extent that this becomes more in the state

1012-1 Page 2

of resistance and there is more perfect coordination between the eliminating forces of the body.

9. Congestion of the liver arises, from the toxic forces through the intestinal tract as a contributory cause, but is in the present more the EFFECT of these conditions having arisen from a lack of a balancing in the system of the elements to keep the body in a more normal balance in the influences for the coordination of nerve forces with the supplying of nutriment for the organs, through there being builded by the increased flow of the blood supply the NEW or REGENERATIVE nerve force and energy.

10. The ORGANS of the system and the NERVOUS FORCES of the body show in the present periods when the body feels a languidness, an upset condition throughout; headaches, ringing in the ears; arms and limbs aching at times; dullness throughout the system, and then the natural anxiety that arises from conditions or tendency for the pains or heaviness in lungs, and the anxiety from the continued growth of the lump on the side here - as we have indicated.

11. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions of this body, as we find in the present, it would be in making the condition within the organs themselves so that there would be a purification, as it were, of the blood stream. Then the more perfect coordination in the eliminating forces of the system itself. And then the correction or absorption of the conditions that have already taken on the form of segregation in a manner.

12. Do not operate, then, in the present; else the body would not, under the present conditions, ever be as well again - if it were operated on in the PRESENT, see? For the body necessitates being built up. Then if built up, there may be produced that in the condition of the body where absorption, eliminations, coordinations of a more perfect blood supply, nerve energies, would make for revivifying. For the conditions are not in that state where they have separated themselves entirely, but there IS that combativeness yet in the vital forces of the body. But it is losing ground rather than gaining, in the present.

13. We would begin, then, with first preparing a compound to be taken internally, in this manner:

14. To 1 gallon of Distilled Water, add: Wild Cherry Bark........................1/2 ounce, Sarsaparilla Root.......................1/2 ounce, Yellow Dock Root........................1/2 ounce, Burdock Root............................1/2 ounce, Prickly ash Bark........................1/4 ounce,

1012-1 Page 3

Elder Flower..............................2 ounces.

15. Reduce this by slow boiling (not in an aluminum container, but enamel - not cracked or broken, and NOT with a tin top; an enamel or glass top) to 1 pint. Strain and while it is still warm, add 1 ounce of PURE grain alcohol (195 proof; NOT 90), with 1/2 dram of Balsam of Tolu cut in same. [10/52 Note by Francis deSales Woidich, M.D.: "100% equals 200 proof. % and proof not used together."]

16. Shake well the solution before the dose is taken, which would be 1/2 teaspoonful 3 times each day, after meals. Immediately after the meal take 1/2 teaspoonful, 3 times each day. Don't take it unless you eat! for it will act with the GASTRIC juices of the stomach; they each having their effect upon the various portions of the organisms that supply for blood forces. That is:

17. The first ingredient, the Wild Cherry Bark, is a direct activative force upon the pneumogastrics and the pulmonary system.

18. The Sarsaparilla works with the gastric juices of the stomach, and the eliminations in the peristaltic movement through the intestinal tract.

19. The Yellow Dock acts with the DIGESTIVE fluids themselves.

20. The Burdock is an activative force with or in the juices through the hydrochloric area, or in the pylorus.

21. The Prickly Ash Bark acts directly with the activative forces in the liver itself, in the gall duct, and as a stimulant to the pancreas and spleen's activity.

22. The Elder Flower acts with the increasing flow for the NATURAL eliminations through the system to the organic activities of the system in its relation to the sex activities of the body.

23. Then the preservative, with the activative forces in the gum, makes for an effectual activity without producing a disagreeable effect in the activity of the others.

24. We would begin almost immediately with high enemas. And this doesn't mean just an ordinary enema. Use the colon tube, to eliminate or evacuate the whole of the colon tract.

25. Take one such colonic irrigation every week for three weeks.

26. THEN take one every THREE weeks, see?

27. When the whole of the compound has been taken, and not until then, begin with manipulations osteopathically given to stimulate the nerve forces that supply the activity of the drainages to the alimentary canal; most specifically through those areas from the 9th dorsal to the base of the brain; more specifically in the 3rd and 4th and 5th dorsal

1012-1 Page 4

centers, coordinating occasionally the LUMBAR plexus with same.

28. Such manipulations would be given, or osteopathic corrections, twice a week.

29. At the same time the osteopathic treatments are begun, begin also to use every day a gentle massage around and over the area of the lump on the left side. For such massaging, use a combination of equal portions Mutton Suet, Turpentine, Spirits of Camphor, Tincture of Benzoin. Massage this mixture around and over the area, GENTLY.

30. It would be well at all times to keep a pad of soft material over same; not cotton, but as a gauze padding. Not adhered to the body; preferably with a band around body holding same in place.

31. Also at the same time the osteopathic treatments are begun, begin with taking an expectorant that will aid also the digestive forces and correct the lung area - or through the activity of same supply the necessary forces to the system, or upon the system. Such an expectorant or compound would be prepared in this manner:

32. To 2 ounces of Distilled Water add 2 ounces Strained Honey. Let this boil for about a minute, but let it come to a hard boil. Set aside to cool. Then add: Pure Apple Brandy (not Apple Jack)........2 ounces, Essence or Tincture Wild Ginseng........1/4 ounce, Essence of Indian Turnip.................20 minims, Tincture of Stillingia..................1/4 ounce.

33. Take a teaspoonful of this in the morning before any meal is taken, and a teaspoonful in the evening when ready to retire.

34. This may be prepared and taken the second or third time, for it will be as an expectorant - or an absorbent in an expectorant - for the lung condition.

35. Occasionally we would use the spray of Glycothymoline for throat and for the nasal passages. Put 1 part of water to 3 parts of the Glyco-Thymoline. Well that this be WARMED by setting in warm water, used in a spray to the nasal passages and through the throat. This may be begun at once, but will be more reactive as the blood supply is purified.

36. In the matter of the diet: Do not eat HOG MEAT of any character, nor fat meats, pieces of fat from even fowl or flesh of any kind. Fats should be supplied for the body through the use of nuts; especially almonds or hickory nuts - these are preferable to other characters of nuts. Beef juices and fruit juices may be taken.

37. Orange juice, tomato juice and the like should be the

1012-1 Page 5

principal portion for the morning meal; with buckwheat cakes (that are used with honey), and a coddled egg occasionally.

38. Noons - preferably lettuce, celery, onions, tomatoes; occasionally a little potato salad or something of that nature.

39. Evenings - preferably vegetables well-cooked; three above ground to one below. No raw meat; that is, sparsely cooked, as beef steak or things of that nature. Beef JUICES may be taken. But fish, fowl and lamb are preferable for the meats, or wild game - and let this be only of the very LEAN portions.

40. As given, the first compound is to be taken now - to become active upon the system.

41. Then the expectorant, with the stimulants to work with the pulmonaries and the activity of the digestive system, (PROVIDED there are the osteopathic manipulations AT THESE TIMES), is to be begun when the manipulations are taken, you see.

42. Ready for questions.

43. (Q) What about present glasses for eyes? (A) These, as we find, will necessarily need changing when or after these suggested applications have been made. The irritations that come from the use of the present ones are more from the weakness in the system, and the pure circulation, than from a lack of the glasses meeting the needs of the system. It is the general nervous condition that makes irritation to the eyes, ears, and to the general sensations from an impoverished blood supply, poor circulation through the organs themselves. Do these things as outlined, if we would bring the better conditions. But be CONSISTENT, and be VERY persistent! Do not use one portion and not the other, else it will be for undoing rather than so much helpfulness.

44. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (9/30/35 GD's note: See letter [which was enclosed] to druggist for preparing first compound.
