Time of Reading 11:15 to 12:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1044].

2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body.

3. These, as we find, in the main are the effects of disorders that HAVE existed in the system; and leaving, as it were, those conditions FROM which there continues to arise disturbances because of the lowed vitality by the very activity of the natures that hindered the action of functioning organs - and the ratio of activity from gland secretions.

4. Hence the disturbances that arise.

5. And as is indicated in the manner in which the responses have been for applications to the body, these have been rather for the effect OF the disturbance than in application of that which would produce the necessary influences for a balancing of the body-functioning.

6. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1044], we are speaking of, present in this room:

7. First, IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY: Here we find indications of there having existed IN portions of the body, as through the assimilating and eliminating systems, a form of congestion that had required the necessity of that in the blood stream to produce coagulations in tissue; especially through the stomach area or digestive area and through the colon itself.

8. Then, owing to the lack of the necessary influences for creating of the leucocyte or the warrior forces, this has made a strain or rather a drain upon the system. Hence lowering the vitality of the body, making for restlessness, producing periods when there was, as it were, the feeling of CREEPINGS through the abdomen, through the right side, across even the middle portion, or a contraction of the tenons in those areas of the colon and a portion of the

1044-1 Page 2

jejunum area. Thus forming gas, headaches, heaviness; effects to the system. Or an after effect of intestinal "flu," that has made and does make this inroad upon the body-functioning as related to the assimilating and eliminating systems.

9. Hence the lacteal duct area becomes that FROM which and through which a great deal of the distress arises.

10. Then, the stimulating alone of the centers or ganglia along the system for an increase in impulse tends to make for a separation between the activity of the nerve forces and the blood supply. And at times the reaction is as if the body was all "ashudder" from the nerve reaction; with cold spots, the feelings of conditions over various portions of the system, and as if the blood had flown from the face or from the extremities or from the arms or from portions of the body to the deeper circulation. These are the effects that these disturbances have produced, do produce at times yet, upon the blood supply of the body.

11. Hence an impoverishment in same, the lack of that urea or that hormone within the blood as to form the separations of the cells in same for proper coagulation.

12. Or, as would be termed from another view of same, the condition in the system is as that the activity of the germ of the "flu" has produced in tissue and the lymph circulation that which HAS not been able through the lowered vitality to heal properly through the lower portion of the digestive or the stomach area and through the colon itself.

13. Not only, then, the effect upon the organs through this portion of the system but the natural drainages that become involved through the activity of the system in its attempt to keep an equal balance.

14. IN THE NERVE FORCES OF THE BODY, as indicated, these are very good in many respects - both the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic or vegetative nerve forces; yet this constant strain makes for incoordination along centers in the cerebrospinal system, between the nerve forces or nerve ganglia of the sympathetics and of the cerebrospinal.

15. Hence there will be periods, and are periods, when across the lower portion or about the last of the dorsal area, just above the hip line at other times, at other periods those portions along the area between the shoulders and up or toward the neck and the coordinating between the vagus nerve plexus, there are the centers FROM which the distresses or distressed areas seem to radiate through other portions of the body.

16. These are the inabilities of the forces in the system to create that normal balance in the body.

1044-1 Page 3

17. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES: as related to these disturbances that have been indicated:

18. Brain forces react or respond nominally.

19. Organs of the sensory system BECOME involved in the disturbed circulation, so that at times in the auditory nerves there is a singing or humming - as it were through portions of the head; at other times we have a burning at back of the eyes, the eyelids themselves. This is the lack of the eliminations being carried on properly, and the attempt of the system to adjust itself; though none of the centers become involved other than sympathetically in the present.

20. In the activity of the bronchi, the lungs, the larynx: Here we find almost the same effect except, naturally, their reactions from such a disturbance are different in that they produce at times too great a quantity of air in the lungs and at others not sufficient. Hence this produces for the throat at one time a drying and at another time a burning, with the tendency for a little phlegm or mucous to arise.

21. This irritates, and is only in the present the EFFECT of those disturbances in the system as indicated.

22. Heart's activity becomes at times very quick, at others slow; especially if the body is able to rest. Yet these very UNREST conditions at times produce a nerve reaction that disturbs the system.

23. Digestive forces: Here we find a great deal of disorder arises. Things do not agree; at times they become burdensome in the stomach, the abdomen may appear to be - Well, the appetite may appear to be very good when food is prepared or presented, but the body can't eat just like it should or like the desire was at first. Or in other periods that which is taken becomes as heaviness in the system, producing - as it were - regurgitation from the acid forces in the normal activity through the pylorus and through the activity of the lower portion of the stomach, and this produces acid - as of a belching at times and at others as a nausea to the whole system.

24. These are reflexes from the abnormal assimilations through the lacteal duct, the activities of the liver as related to the secretions from the organ itself through the activity of the gall duct. The activity of the spleen and the pancreas becomes straining upon the system.

25. And these then continue to produce through the system, through this lack of the circulation through the area, the heaviness in the colon and the effect upon the kidneys and the bladder as to become IRRITATING to the organs of the pelvis; making for periods when there are the scarce or

1044-1 Page 4

sparse eliminations and others when these become too frequent and the activities of the nature as to irritate or strain the system.

26. These, as indicated, are NERVE reflexes. Hence, as we find, we may add those things to the system, or to the body, in such ways and measures that these conditions may not only be eliminated but there may be built up resistances and strength and vitality to make for normalcy throughout this body, [1044].

27. We would, then, ADD THESE: First we would have prepared a compound in this way and manner:

28. To 2 ounces of Strained Honey add 3 ounces of Distilled Water. Let come to a boil. Just as it begins to boil, remove and skim off the impurities that come to the surface. Then to this as the carrier, add - in the order named: Essence of Wild Ginseng..........1 ounce, (WILD Ginseng, NOT tame) Essence of Indian Turnip........20 minims, Essence of Wild Ginger.........1/2 ounce, Tincture of Stillingia.........1/2 ounce. Cut 2 drams Balsam of Tolu in 2 ounces Grain Alcohol (90%; not the 190% proof, but 90%), and add to solution.

29. Shake the solution well before the dose is taken, which should be four times each day, before the meals and before retiring; half a teaspoonful.

30. When this has begun to react, or after the third or fourth day, begin with the use of ENEMAS that will remove from the colon those tendencies of that which has produced and does produce inflammation through same.

31. The activity of the properties indicated will allow these to be removed more easily by the influence of the circulation from the properties upon the flow of the lymph through those areas of the system.

32. In such enemas use the soda AND saline solutions.

33. These should be given as colonics, NOT merely as enemas. Not too much at first, as to be a strain upon the system. But after such enemas or colonics REST, lying down, for at least thirty minutes before there is the attempt to become active. Not that it is going to weaken the body, but do not produce ANXIETIES through these portions of the system.

34. The solutions for such colonics would be prepared in this manner: To each gallon of the tepid water used in the irrigation add a heaping tablespoonful of the baking soda and a level teaspoonful of table salt.

35. In the last water used in such (or the rinse water), add

1044-1 Page 5

a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline to each quart and a half of the tepid water - as an antiseptic.

36. Well to occasionally take a few drops of the Glyco-Thymoline INTERNALLY; once a week, once in two weeks as the conditions progress towards improvement. For, of course, these conditions are going to gradually disappear, and the crampings, the heaviness on the feet, all of these conditions are going to disappear.

37. We would take the colonics in the beginning one every two weeks; later we would make them once a month.

38. But after they have been begun, or after the first fifteen days, then we would begin to apply the PLAIN Violet Ray each evening when ready to retire; using the bulb applicator. This would be given not at high rate or speed but at that so the body will respond to same. In the application begin at the base of the head (the body lying prone), massage it gently in a ROTARY motion (back and forth across the spine, see?) across shoulders, across the abdominal area (from the back), across the lower sacral area and to the end of the spine; then along the sciatic nerves to the heels, then along the arm to the wrist; and then on the FRONTAL portion of the body, gently across the diaphragm, the liver and the caecum area on the right portion, you see. In all take at least eight to ten minutes for such a treatment. Each day CLEANSE the BULB or the anode.

39. All of these applications take at home, save the colonics - which should be at least the first four given under the supervision of one that knows NOT to produce irritations in the intestinal system.

40. In the diets: Here there is the necessity of a consideration, in the ways and manners that will add to the system those influences that are to build in the functioning not only of organs but to supply the vitamins and elements necessary for the replenishing through assimilation - that now will begin in a normal manner; gradually, to be sure. There will be days and periods when there will be rather a reversal to disturbances, but when the indigestion occurs take a small dose of the Glyco-Thymoline as indicated. Or, more preferably at other periods - if there appears to be a swelling or belching - use a small quantity of the Alcaroid about half an hour after or soon after the meal that may have caused discomfort. This will produce a chyle in the system.

41. This would be an outline for the diet, though - to be sure - these are not ALL the foods that may be taken, but follow these as a GENERAL outline.

1044-1 Page 6

42. Mornings - citrus fruit juices or fresh fruits. Do not take cereals or starches AND citrus fruit or fruit juices at the same meal, nor even on the same day - no matter if there is half to three-quarters of an hour's difference in their taking! They do not form proper coordinations in the digestive system when taken together. There may be periods, however, when the cereals may be taken for breakfast instead of the fruits; but preferably use the malt cereals - as Maltex, or the whole wheat just rolled and cooked very, very done; or oatmeal, not rolled but CUT oats - cooked for two and a half to three hours, and not in aluminum but in glass or enamelware. This will make for better assimilation.

43. Noons - preferably raw vegetables, or liquids or the juices extracted from the vegetables; or juices (not broths but juices) of meat, as PREPARED Liver Extract or Beef Extract. These would be merely a portion of same. Here, of course, there may be taken the browned toast; not white bread. Preferably cracked wheat or whole wheat.

44. Evenings - vegetables and meats. The scrapings of beefsteak may be taken, but it should be broiled and NOT fried. NEVER any fried food. Fish should be broiled or boiled, not fried. Shell fish should not be taken in any quantity, though at times boiled lobster would be well - if fresh, for the phosphorous that is especially shown or assimilated from the use of such foods. A cereal drink or the Kaffa Hag or the Nova Mate; these would be taken as drinks. Milk, as malted milk, preferably take between meals.

45. Of an afternoon it would be well to take red wine and BLACK bread, or pumpernickel and red wine. An ounce to two ounces. Do not take other foods with the wine.

46. Ready for questions.

47. (Q) Are there any stomach ulcers? (A) No stomach ulcers. At times lacerations from excesses of those influences as indicated, by drying of tissue through portions of the system.

48. (Q) Will not red wine cause indigestion? (A) It will not if taken at the time of day as indicated, WITH only black or brown bread - if sipped and not gulped. These are the reactions: If white bread were taken with same, or meats, it would produce indigestible forces - because of the very activity of the alcoholic content. But the absorption of same BY the nature of the bread indicated, and sipped, makes for an absorbing of poisons from the system rather than creating those conditions that produce fermentation, see?

1044-1 Page 7

Oils, of course, are well to be taken. These not in quantities, but merely enough - as it were - to moisten the tongue or the lips each time. White Oil or Olive Oil. Only sips of same two or three times a day.

49. (Q) Are my teeth in good condition? (A) These need some local attention. From the natural inference as may be indicated from the disturbance of the circulation, or those tendencies for the system to draw upon the vitality, there is a deficiency of calcium in the system. Hence the teeth tend to make for a giving away. Local attention, and those additions in the system of the properties indicated should STRENGTHEN these materially.

50. (Q) What causes the splotches to appear on my neck and chest? (A) The poor circulation. This was mentioned in regard to the vagus circulation, and how the circulation separates between the superficial and deeper circulation; leaving a LACK of eliminations from the system.

51. (Q) Has the Coreine I have been taking helped the condition, and should I continue it? (A) This has helped the condition, but this has been and is as a palliative - as we find. If there are the changes to those properties indicated, we would not use or combine these.

52. Do this, in the manner indicated; and we will find we will bring normal forces for this body.

53. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (11/3/35 GD's note: See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to Druggist. See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to Hydrotherapist for giving the enemas or colonics.)
