Time of Reading 4:15 to 4:40 P. M. Central Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1054].

2. Now, as we find, there are specific conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body. These are rather deep-seated, and are the effect of specific pressures in the first cause, and the effects these conditions have produced upon the activity of the system as related to the functioning of the lower portion of the hepatic circulation. Thus the body is affected in these ways and manners.

3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1054] we are speaking of:

4. First, IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, here we find effects of disturbances rather than causes, though the effect PRODUCES a disturbance in the blood system itself, as will be indicated.

5. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, we find rather the deep-seated cause of the disturbance. For in times back there has been an injury that has caused a lesion in the 8th, 9th and 10th dorsal area. This lesion affects the activity of the impulses through the ganglia there to the functioning of the system as related to the activity of the kidneys in eliminations, as related to the flow of blood supply, as related to the activity of the glands that function not FROM the activity of the kidney but TO the activity of the kidney. Rather those from the lymph ducts in the lacteal area.

6. Hence we find a slowing of the circulation THROUGH same, thus producing through the nerves' activity (that is, over-stimulation in one area, lack of flow in another area) a sedimentary effect. Hence the production within the kidney itself of that which forms as gravel, or hardening of the inside wall of same, through which the eliminations of

1054-1 Page 2

the urinic acid from the system make for an irritation to the tubes that lead to the bladder. Thus ACUTE pains are caused at times, and heaviness across a portion of the abdomen - and acute pains across the kidney area.

7. These effects, then, upon the blood supply are to make for the toxic forces - that should be eliminated - becoming apparent in the blood stream in very minute quantities, yet sufficient to make for an alteration in the pulsation through the circulation from the liver, the heart, the lungs.

8. Then, these make for an activity there that becomes disturbing ESPECIALLY when there is a contraction. Yet the lesion which has caused or that produces same is in the cerebrospinal nervous system.

9. The effect of these upon the nervous force as to the sensory system becomes apparent in the general conditions that arise at times to the sensory system. And to the nervous forces of the body there is an uneasiness through the reflex activity of the sympathetic forces of the body; thus becoming effective to the activity of all portions of the physical forces as related to functionings of the organs.

10. IN THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, as indicated; these we find at times become distressed, though the normal conditions are for a nominal reaction. And the reaction is GOOD, considering the general reactions of the body in relation to the specific conditions.

11. Then, in effecting that which would eliminate the disorders from the system:

12. We find that if these suggestions will be followed consistently, persistently, we would eliminate the causes. But unless these are to be done CONSISTENTLY and PERSISTENTLY, for a sufficient period to insure that the causes in the first, and the effects that have already been produced, have been rejuvenated and resuscitated for their normal activity, then don't begin them!

13. First, we would begin with the manipulations osteopathically given, that would GRADUALLY correct the conditions in the cerebrospinal nervous system. These should NOT be too severe, nor too close together in the beginning. Once a week for the first month SHOULD be sufficient. And these should be of the GENERAL nature, rather than the specific corrections.

14. During this period, each day take an ounce of Watermelon Seed Tea; made in this manner: To a teaspoonful of crushed watermelon seed put a pint of water, warm water. Let come to a boil, and then boil for half a minute; that is, not the

1054-1 Page 3

simmering but the turning over. Set aside, strain. Keep in a cool place. Drink an ounce of this each day. Make an extra quantity and use in the same way during the whole period of the four weeks during which one osteopathic treatment would be given each week.

15. Also each evening when ready to retire, massage across the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th dorsal area, and across the lumbar also, that which the body will absorb of this combination:

16. To a quantity of heated Mutton Suet or Mutton Tallow, add the same quantity of each of the following ingredients (that is, equal parts of each) - added in the order named: Turpentine, Spirits of Camphor, Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Massage only what the body will absorb. Then place a hot flannel over same; at least three thickness of same. A warm pad to keep it warm for an hour would be most beneficial.

17. After the four weeks of treatments in this manner, then leave OFF the applications externally; rest from these applications for three or four days. Then commence again. But then have two to three treatments osteopathically each week; and once a week take the diathermy treatment - but not too high or too strong a voltage, using the plates then on the 4th dorsal and the lacteal duct area. Keep the diathermy once a week for the next four weeks, and the adjustments two to three times each week.

18. In the meantime, be mindful that there is plenty of water taken in the system. Not those that would overflow, but at least six glasses of water each day - this would be the least quantity that should be taken.

19. One meal each day should be only of raw fresh vegetables or fruits.

20. The morning meals should be principally citrus fruits, brown toast, any good cereal (though cereals and citrus fruits should not be used at the same meal). When cereals are used, preferably use those containing iron - as Maltex or Whole Wheat; these may be alternated.

21. Evening meals should be vegetables principally, consisting of the leafy kind and those grown under the ground; NOT the pod variety. That is, no peas, beans, lima beans or dried beans, nor things of that nature. Rather use the artichoke, potatoes (particularly the peel of the potatoes), yams, salsify, turnips and the like; these may be used WITH the LEAFY vegetables, especially red cabbage. These should be equally balanced; that is, one of the leafy variety to one grown under the ground, or two of the leafy to two under the ground. Alter these.

22. Take pears principally as the fruits, or grapes; or alter these in the diet.

23. And we should find in six to eight weeks near normal conditions.

24. Ready for questions.

25. (Q) Is milk beneficial to my system? (A) Preferably dried milk rather than the raw milk.

26. (Q) Is the belt I am wearing doing any good and shall I continue same? (A) It is not doing harm; then it must be at least a protection and a help. Do not leave off.

27. (Q) What is the cause of failing memory? (A) As much taxation as there is produced on the nerve forces of the body, there's no wonder!

28. (Q) Any focal infections? (A) As indicated. Rather the effect of the nerve pressures that have affected the assimilating forces from the lacteals, allowing accumulations in the flow of the circulation through the kidneys themselves. Do as we have indicated; conscientiously, sincerely, persistently - and we will find results!

29. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to Dr. Dobbins for osteopathic and diathermy treatments. If it is not convenient for you to go into New York for these, I'm sure Dr. Dobbins will recommend a good osteopath in your vicinity and write a letter to him asking that he follow the directions given in the letter. I think you can prepare and give the other things yourself at home. If everything is not clear, let us know. We are leaving in a day or two for Detroit, Mich., 3046 Webb Ave., and will be there about two weeks. But mail sent to Virginia Beach will be forwarded to us wherever we are. We would like to hear whether or not your sister has gotten started with her treatments and just how she is getting along. Please let us hear from YOU. Kind regards from all of us; and hope you'll be feeling like a different person when we're in New York in January. GD.)
