1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1073].

2. Now, as we find, from the general conditions there may appear to be a great deal of disturbance. While many portions of the system are included in conditions of a disturbing nature, if these are attended to in the present, as we find, little difficulty may be had in producing near to a normal reaction throughout.

3. For we have a little unbalancing in the equilibrium of coordinating influences. Hence that as would become disturbing to many portions of the functioning system.

4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1073] we are speaking of, present in this room:

5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find indications of much that has been and is disturbing; or the unbalancing of the coordination between the eliminating systems. For as conditions have existed and do exist, that have gradually been changing through some of those activities of the organs of the pelvis and the nature of the relationships of eliminations in these directions, the equilibrium of the system's activity has been disturbed to such an extent that the respiratory system and the alimentary canal do not always coordinate. Neither do the activities through the excretory or secretive functionings of the organs of the hepatic circulation coordinate with the perspiratory system.

6. So we have periods at times when there are little dizzinesses. We have others when there are the chilly, shaky sensations in the lower portion of the abdomen and even extending through the limbs themselves.

7. And with the nerve strain and mental strain that the body has undergone and does undergo, greater distresses are produced. These at times become as lodgements, as it were. Or the organs of the pelvis - as the activity of the ovaries, the uterus, the portions of the eliminating system - become

1073-1 Page 2

involved by engorgements. But these do not need removal, as we find in the present, unless conditions would change. For the conditions would then become closed; and the weight of the body - that is at times in the present disturbed, as well as the mental forces of the body in the sympathetic relations - would become overcharged.

8. But we would make changes in the manner in which the assimilations are carried on, the manner in which the circulations are distributed through the impulses from various ganglia or centers along the cerebrospinal system from which organs of the body may be made to properly coordinate; the organs of the pelvis as well as the hepatic circulation and the activities to the respiratory system.

9. Thus there may be allowed the elimination of drosses, the elimination of energies or used forces that become as drosses in the activity of the system; so that the activity may become nominal or normal.

10. Also there will be allowed the upbuilding, as it were; the retention of energy in such a way and manner that the body will remain, as it were, more near to its normal weight - WITHOUT the necessity of such strenuous diets or such strenuous activities as to make for a strain upon the whole physical force of the body itself.

11. IN THE NERVE FORCES OF THE BODY, here we have, as indicated, what may be said to be pathological as well as psychological conditions.

12. For as the body has become and does become more and more attuned to the HARMONIOUS abilities of the MENTAL retentions of the body, more and more will it find itself CAPABLE of meeting emergencies.

13. Hence, as we have indicated, pathological - meaning those pressures from various disturbing factors, where plethoric conditions exist in the organs of the digestion or where the assimilating forces become disturbed. With these being near to normal, with the active forces through the sympathetic system made to coordinate, we will find that the coordination in the physical forces will become more and more to normal.

14. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, as to the activities of the brain forces, these have oft been under strain; yet harmony is a portion of the innate influences of the entity itself. And this, to be sure, as to how the mental-soul forces are activative in the psychic forces of the body itself, may be best seen from the analysis of the experiences in the earth.

15. In the present we find that these respond in the emotions of the body. Hence the natural tendencies are to

1073-1 Page 3

become emotional over those things that may be physical or mental, as well as of the artistic temperament in its manifestations through the body itself.

16. As to the activities of the sensory forces: Being supersensitive, as indicated, these at times - with undue activity in the system - are unable to perfectly coordinate. So we have a little buzzing at times in the ear. At others we find the eyes giving distress. At others we find the body becomes supersensitive to odors. And at others we find those activities to the sympathetic forces in the lymph flow become overflowing in the throat, in the nasal passages. We have some little distress then at times through the antrum. But these usually pass with the setting up of greater eliminations, or with rest; or the setting up of drainages from the system. However, they leave their effect. And conditions become irritating at times.

17. Throat, bronchi, lungs and larynx, as we find, are - it may be said - only sympathetically disturbed. Hence no organic reaction.

18. The heart's activity, to be sure, with a disturbed circulation and carrying poisons, makes for sometimes a change in the pressure of the blood forces in its flow. This makes for a change at times in the pulsation, so that it becomes quicker in some parts of the body than in others. And yet there is no organic disturbance; rather a sympathetic and a functional one.

19. Digestive forces, through the necessities of the activities of the body at times, become disturbed. Little does the body desire to eat at times; and at others an abnormal appetite may occur - with the desire for specific or special character of foods becoming another portion of its reaction. These are the effects, it may be said, of a TEMPERAMENTAL digestion; or a nervous indigestion at times. For if the body becomes upset it makes for a disturbance in the manner in which it may be able to digest that as may be taken into the system.

20. Hence we have at times an overflow of the secretions from the pancreas and the spleen. At other times we have somewhat of a congestion, causing periods when there are tendencies for constipation in the alimentary canal. And this with other disturbances will produce an irritation in portions of the skin, or will make for a sort of rash on portions of the body at times. These are but sympathetic effects upon the nervous forces of the body, acting through the nervous system as indicated.

21. The ORGANS of the digestive forces, save for sympathetic conditions, are very good.

1073-1 Page 4

22. The kidneys in their activity make for periods when under high pressure they become overactive; the bladder becomes irritated by a condition of superacidity. But this may be passed away by a change in the diet, or by the increasing of the lymph flow for eliminations, or by taking an alkalin eliminant that acts upon the gastric flow of the intestinal tract.

23. These, as we find, have been aided in these ways and manners - that are rather palliatives; they are not curatives, they are not reaching then the causes of the disturbances.

24. For naturally, with these disturbances as indicated, and the incoordinations of the systems in the elimination, there have been produced in the various centers along the cerebrospinal system - and its coordinant effect with the sympathetic or vegetative force - conditions that are not as lesions, but they are rather in the form of congested areas. Thus at periods the heaviness across the right side of the body, through the pelvic area, becomes rather severe. Again we may find it across the small of the back and across the lower left side of the body. These are but effects, and a shifting - through the system's attempting to adjust itself to such changes as have come about.

25. AS WE FIND, then, THESE WOULD BE MANNERS OR MEANS that would be suggested to bring about near normal conditions for the body:

26. First, we would have REGULAR periods when there would be the sweat baths, or cabinet baths. And preferably we would have these with pine oils as a portion, or a fume bath of pine oils. Then have the rubdown with ingredients of such natures that would take away from the perspiratory system, or from the skin itself, the poisons that are eliminated or set up through the sweat or fume bath. These we would take about once or twice a month, or when there is felt any heaviness in the system.

27. Follow the sweat or fume baths, then, with the salt RUM baths; that is, salt rum rubs. Wet the salt with bay rum, that would be massaged so that the effect of the calcium chloride as combined with the alcohol in the bay rum (that is, the sodium chloride with the bay rum) is to - through the deposits upon the perspiratory system of that necessary element to - not only close the pores of the skin but aid in adding to the superficial circulation those things that become helpful toward keeping a more perfect coordination between the deeper and the superficial circulations.

28. We would also begin with general osteopathic ADJUSTMENTS. With every third treatment we would have not a

1073-1 Page 5

general manipulation but rather the specific adjustments. That is, let the adjustments be made about every third treatment; in the lumbar plexus (the 4th, 3rd); in the 9th dorsal plexus, in the brachial plexus; in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 2nd cervical plexus. Then the other treatments would be GENERAL massage or osteopathic massage that would make for proper coordination between the respiratory system, the eliminations through activities of the pelvic organs, a stimulation for the assimilations from those areas along the cerebrospinal system from which such areas receive their impulse.

29. These, as we find, would be the manner of these treatments.

30. When the general osteopathic massages are given, make the general massage for the PELVIC organs also. Rather than this being made from the spinal system, let it be made from the FRONTAL portion of the body. Not exactly a kneading (as would be the abdomen) but so that the organs of the pelvis may be attuned to the vibratory forces as set up. These would be given, of course, when little or no foods are in the system, or under the influence of digestive forces.

31. As to the matter of the diets, these become naturally - with the general conditions of the body - a necessary element or influence. Do not ever take cereals AND grapefruit or citrus fruits or pineapple juices at the same meal. Have the cereal one day and the fruit the next; NEVER the two at the same meal. For they form in the system, together, that which is not beneficial - and ESPECIALLY not helpful for this body, forming an acid that fattens the body. Coffee or tea should preferably be without milk or cream, for again we find that the combination of the acids - or the tannic forces, the chickory, or the properties there are the food values to the digestive forces - becomes disturbing, when combined outside of the body. However, if milk and coffee are taken at the same meal - but not combined before they are taken - the gastric juices flowing from even the salivary glands in the mouth so taking these CHANGE the activity so that the food values of both are taken by the system, in the activity through the alimentary canal.

32. Hence the morning meals would be occasionally the citrus fruit juices, with occasionally an egg or a little whole wheat or brown toast. These may be taken together or some time apart. At other periods we would have cooked cereals, and at others we would have dry cereals. These may be taken with or without milk; preferably half milk and half cream. Coffee or tea may be taken then at the same meal, but NOT

1073-1 Page 6

with the milk IN same. Little sugar, for this - as indicated, of course - makes for an activity upon the pancreas that, unless there is a great deal of physical exertion, creates the tendency for the increase of avoirdupois throughout the whole body itself.

33. In ONE meal each day - whether this be in the noon meal or the evening meal (preferably the noon meal, however) - let there be only raw vegetables or fruits. These may be taken with or without dressing, dependent upon the tastes of the body. And it is well that these be changed at times.

34. Do not eat white bread nor potatoes; though the skins of Irish potatoes - whether roasted or boiled or baked - are well for the body; for the salts that are in same close to the peel will supply starch AND carbohydrates in a manner that the activities of the Vitamin's A and D are in such proportions as to build strength and vitality in the structural portions, and in the tendons and the muscular forces, such as to build resistance - and not build fat.

35. The meats would be preferably fish, fowl, lamb; occasionally beef may be taken, but this should be in VERY small quantities. Never any RED meat, unless it is well - WELL cooked! Not that these become as deadened principles, but when these are taken let them be rather for weight - that is, through the digestive forces - than for the food values, other than the active forces through the system itself.

36. Wines, or such natures, may be taken more preferably AS food; not as those that would be taken WITH food. Hence red wine - that is, Sherry or Port, or such natures - taken with sour bread, or black bread, in the late afternoon - rather than coffee or tea - is much more preferable; and it doesn't put on weight, it doesn't make for souring in the stomach - if taken in that manner; but not with other foods!

37. Do these, and be patient, be consistent. And we will bring much better conditions.

38. Have periods of taking the adjustments and the treatments along the cerebrospinal system. It is much better, for this body, in taking the osteopathic adjustments, to have them two to three times a week for three weeks; then rest from same three weeks. They will be much more effective. However, during the rest period, should there be the tendency for some condition to arise requiring the treatment, then take same.

39. Keep the baths or the fume baths, as indicated, for periods of the same way and manner. Take them in periods of four to five, and then rest from them for a month to two months. Then have them for a period again; once a week or

1073-1 Page 7

once in two weeks until four or five are taken again. But when taking them, take them consistently, and these would be much more effective in creating the coordinative balance between the eliminating systems and the assimilating forces.

40. Ready for questions.

41. (Q) Can anything be done in the way of rejuvenation, regarding operation for removal of organs? (A) Only that as indicated, that makes for a stimulation to produce - now - the proper eliminations and proper assimilations to meet the needs of such conditions.

42. (Q) What will relieve constipation? (A) Those things as indicated; not only the manner of the diet but the manner of the treatments for the conditions through the abdomen - as indicated, osteopathically.

43. (Q) For the spot below the right knee, that gives a great deal of pain? (A) As indicated, with the stimulations especially to the lumbar area, when the circulation is aided, with the general treatments there will be a great deal of improvement - eliminating entirely the disturbance.

44. (Q) Following the suggestions given will aid in keeping the weight down? (A) As indicated here, the tendencies in that direction have been taken into consideration in that outlined.

45. (Q) Also the clogged pores of the skin? (A) This was among the first things suggested - the application for same.

46. (Q) Any other advice for the body? (A) Do these, as we find, as suggested. These would bring the greater relief, and hence furnish the better physical body for the mental and the spiritual manifestations.
