Time of Reading 12:10 to 12:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - he's just finished keeping the time - went out!
2. Now, as we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of this body. However, they are minor in the present, and arise mostly from an unbalanced diet. Thus disturbances have been and are caused in the glands and their secretions. But we find that with the proper corrections made so that the changes are properly directed, not only would much that disturbs the body in a manner be corrected but there would be prevented a great deal of distress later on.
3. For if the body begins to adjust itself, or to attempt - under the stresses and strains - to throw out those disturbing factors, we would find constitutional disturbances that would become very disrupting in their reactions upon the body.
4. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [1078] we are speaking of:
5. THE BLOOD SUPPLIES, these indicate that there has been and is too much potassium in the system, the effect of potassium in an iron nature - or muriatic iron in the system.
6. Hence, as we find, there is a deficiency in the activity especially of the thyroids and their contingent activity with the adrenals. So, there is the lack of the proper amount of the textures that make up the finger nails, the structural portions of the body in a manner; the disturbance with the hair also being a result of this lack, and the natural growth of some of the organs that relate to genitation.
7. All of these are as deficiencies by an excess of other properties in the blood supply.
8. These then go to make up, as we find, the GENERAL disturbances. For:
9. IN THE NERVE FORCES OF THE BODY, here we find the natural
1078-1 Page 2
reflexes in overanxieties, overactivities in some directions and the lack of the mental efficiencies in disseminations or minute or detail activities. The generalities become as the magnified forces in the activities of the mental body. While:
10. IN THE FUNCTIONING ORGANS THEMSELVES, we find those disturbances pertaining to the head, as in the thinning of the hair.
11. But in other places, as on the hands or face, there are splotches from the lack of the proper assimilations being carried on, or the proper distribution of the elements as assimilated.
12. Hence the circulatory forces, as in the lymph circulation, are carrying properties that should be eliminated through the alimentary canal.
13. There are those tendencies for constipation; an overactivity at times with the kidneys and a lack of activity with same at other times.
14. At periods there will be places on various portions of the body that are irritated, as a rash that occurs at times.
15. These are the effects from the activities through the circulatory forces from natural disturbances that arise in the functioning of the organs, as related to assimilation and the distribution of that assimilated.
16. AS WE FIND, THEN, IN THE PRESENT, we would have first the adjustments osteopathically, given along the cerebrospinal system, specifically in the 4th lumbar, 9th dorsal, 3rd and 4th dorsal. And, to be sure, coordinate the cervical areas with the adjustments made in the cerebrospinal system along the lumbar and dorsal areas. And in making these adjustments, consider more specifically the lumbar axis and the extenuation of same as related to the feet.
17. Some care should be taken here, as to the manner in which there are the activities of the body - in the character of the shoes worn; that there may not be those tendencies for the letting down of the body, as in relation to the arch. So, arch supports of a nature would be the preferable manner to care for this condition; as well as the adjustments osteopathically in the feet also, especially in the bursae in the heel and those in the ball of the foot itself - or at either end of the arch itself. These will maintain the circulatory forces.
18. Keep such manipulations and adjustments for periods of three weeks; with a rest period from same of three weeks, and then another treatment period.
19. Under the supervision of the physician, or a physician,
1078-1 Page 3
we would use the Atomidine - one to two minims (or drops) in half a glass of water three to four days out of each week, for four or five weeks. Then rest from same for three weeks, and then have another period of taking it three to four days out of each week for three, four or five weeks. Take it of mornings before the meal, regularly. Do not take it in a harum-scarum manner, but three to four days in the week take it each morning before the breakfast. Then the next week - say Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - take it. In this manner take it for three to four to five weeks; then have the rest period of three weeks - and then take it again for another four to five weeks, as indicated.
20. In the matter of the diet, remove too much of starches; that is, white bread, Irish potatoes, rice, or things of such natures as these. But the skins of the Irish potatoes and that close to same carry salts that will go well with the activities of ALL the glands, and thus be most beneficial.
21. Take sufficient amount of the carbohydrates or sugars, but these are more preferable to be taken in the quantities of orange juice (that is, supplied in that manner). For at least twice a day there should be a small glass of orange juice taken - before the morning meal and before retiring, a small glass of four to four and a half ounces. Take same for two to three weeks in straight succession each day. Then rest from same for a period, and then take again.
22. And in the general diet have always those things for the meals that are in accord with body, blood and nerve building. But not too great quantities of meats. No red meats. No fried meats, nor fried foods of any kind. Let these when taken be roasted or broiled, or prepared in such a manner. Liver, tripe and fish should be the principal food taken in place of meat. But do not take too much of shell fish. To be sure, the shell fish carry iodine - but it is not so well for this body taken in that manner. However, LOBSTER - broiled or boiled - may be included. Also broiled or boiled fish, lamb, fowl and wild game may be included; but no shrimp, oysters, clams, nor things of that nature.
23. Do these consistently, persistently, as indicated, and the body will be near to normal.
24. Ready for questions.
25. (Q) What causes discomfort in leg and foot? (A) As indicated. Pressures in the axis in the lumbar area. Hence the adjustments that will relieve the pressure and make for the near normal activity of the adrenals, as associated with the activity of the thyroids and with those
1078-1 Page 4
small quantities of the iodine (Atomidine) and the diet activities indicated we should overcome these conditions.
26. (Q) Any special make of shoes that would be best? (A) Those, as we find - Well, the Reid Cushion Shoe would be well. This has a high care for the instep and also the arch support.
27. (Q) Should any local application be used on the scalp? (A) Only keep it clean, and let nature take care of the condition. For, as we find, with the diets and the adjustments, the hair will gradually grow - because just to keep it healthy (the scalp) is all that is necessary.
