This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 20 Woods Lane, Scarsdale, N.Y., this 12th day of November, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1082], Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1315].

R E A D I N G

Born March 4, 1896, in Albany, New York. Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:50 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Life Reading Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1082].

2. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find, that which we find that may be helpful - if applied in the experience - is chosen to be given.

3. These, then, become the interpretation through these channels of this entity's experiences in the earth and the astrological aspects that become a part of the experience of the entity in the present:

4. The influences from sojourns in the astrological aspects are as innate forces, while those from the material sojourns chosen as those that have influenced and do influence the entity in the present experience are expressed through the emotions of the entity.

5. Hence we find there have been and are in the experience of the entity those periods when individual activities of others have been a thought and a study of the entity; and then there have been those periods when only things and conditions have been of a general interest.

6. Oft the entity then is considered by others as being material-minded, when it has been rather the self-preservation from the entity's own application of that it has held or holds as its idea - or ideals of existence or experience in material planes.

7. These interpretations that are given from the activities as seen here are that: The ideal is not as a material thing, not as only a mental experience, but as the mental, the material and the spiritual world.

8. For life IS the manifestation of that Divine which is worshiped as God.

9. Hence each soul-entity is a portion of same, with that privilege through the experiences in materiality to manifest an ideal and thus grow in grace, in knowledge, in faith, in

hope, in love; that the entity, the soul, may be one with the Creative Forces - that should be the ideal of every soul.

10. The astrological aspects we find are such that, the entity coming under the water sign as well as in those phases or experiences when influences that are of the spiritual nature have an influence in the material affairs of the entity: as indicated, the entity has delved in and out of such, and there is to be YET the choice as to what it will do with this experience.

11. In Uranus and in Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, we find influences: From Uranus we find the extremes that have arisen in every phase of the experience. Again from Venus we find that friendships, loves, associations, have at periods meant, must mean, the greater influences for material, mental or even spiritual application of peace and hope that arises as part of each soul's longing.

12. For no soul lives to itself, or dies to itself; it is ever dependent then upon relationships as to its application of constructive or destructive forces in this experience.

13. From the Jupiterian force we find material activities and material things dealing with classes and masses of individuals; and these bring the greater material security - though oft mental and spiritual upheavals or wonderments, or disturbances.

14. Such influences from planetary sojourns are as urges. As to what the activities in the experience will be, or as to what the entity does about same (such urges) depends much upon the will and that the entity has made or does make as its ideal - whether mental, material OR spiritual.

15. And unless the ideal is founded in spiritual things, it must sooner or later turn upon self - and make for stumbling-stones rather than stepping-stones to peace and joy and harmony being sought by every soul in its security here and, yea, hereafter.

16. As to the appearances in the earth, we find many are influencing the entity even in this present sojourn.

17. For as we have indicated, we find the entity is in the present passing through periods of confusion as to choices made in mental as well as in material associations and relationships.

18. Hence we find:

19. Before this the entity lived in that period when there were the settlings and developments of the land of the entity's present nativity, during those periods in same when associations and relations were being established among the natives as well as retaining those activities with the lands

from which the fathers and mothers of the entity's associations had journeyed.

20. Hence we find it was during the periods of great labor physically, but mental and spiritual freedom.

21. The entity then was in the name of Dotty Shuchmaker.

22. In the experience the entity gained mentally, spiritually, physically; through the application of self in not only making the surroundings more pleasant but in making friendships and associations that became constructive experiences; bringing hope and cheer, longsuffering and patience and understanding in the experiences of the entity's activities.

23. From the dealing with skins and furs, we find that in the present the activities in regard to garments or robes become a part of the entity's experience in one manner or another.

24. Yet this may be a choice, or it may be that which may be eliminated from the experience; but the activities of dress or garb or in such fields become INNATELY a portion of the entity's experience in the present from that sojourn.

25. Before that we find the entity was in what is now known as the English land, during those activities and sojourns of many for a cause. Or it was when there were the gatherings of the peoples for a cause to which many had given themselves as ideas without considering the TRUE ideals.

26. Or it was in those periods when many left their own land for the Crusades, to become active in other lands for a cause.

27. The entity then was left, and we find the entity was alone much - troubled with the very experience and activities that arose from confusions of those that might become overzealous for a cause, yet not practical in their material experiences.

28. Then the entity was in the name Sharman Menchestor.

29. In the experience the entity gained, the entity lost, the entity gained.

30. And in the present from that experience we find oft the entity questioning those that are overzealous of some cause, whether it be mental, spiritual or material; and the entity then innately is a doubter of men, yea of its OWN sex, yea of its own activities at times - questions same in its relationships to its SOCIAL relationships.

31. Before that we find the entity was in that Trojan period, when there were those activities in the lands about Troy, the activities in the lands to which Achilles, Hector and Helen came, and all of those that have become as myths, or as an influence that made for the following of groups,

masses, for divisions as to causes and purposes.

32. There the entity was closely associated with some of the leaders, especially of Achilles' group; for the entity then was nigh unto those activities that made for the PURPOSES of the activities during that sojourn.

33. Hence we find in the present, from that experience as Sujon, there are the doubts of those in authority; yea, for the wild experiences in the mental and social activities sought at times - and yet questioning them all.

34. Yet from that experience also we find again the urge toward things, rather than people. For in the latter portion of that experience the entity sought activities in selling, in the barter of things created by hand, or such things were sought to be a part of the entity's experience.

35. Before that we find the entity was in the land when the children of Promise were coming back to the Holy City, those that had been in bondage - yet had learned much from the very material sufferings as to the variations between mental and material disturbances.

36. The entity was among the first of the peoples that came again under Zerubbabel to the Holy City, and of that people; though, to be sure, was born in exile.

37. Home - Home - has become as a portion of the entity's experience that is latent and finds ever and anon the expression of same in the desires of the inner self to see or to know, to feel the security of some place, some surrounding in which that may be felt as a part of the whole self.

38. Not so much as the religious thought or purposes during the experience, for the ENTITY was rather interested in the purposes for freedom!

39. And this is a portion of the entity's experience in the present.

40. As there were the activities during those periods, in the city, that came out of all the turmoil and strife, out of all the rebuilding and reestablishing of customs that were impregnated with the very activities of those lands in which these peoples had been a part, the entity joined rather in the decorative portion of a service in that land.

41. Hence we find many of those influences that arise innately in the experience EMOTIONALLY in the entity in the present.

42. Then the name was Judith.

43. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as the Egyptian, during those periods of turmoil and strife, those activities of many that came into the land as sojourners from the Atlantean land - and the establishing of

those customs that had been raised by the Priest and a portion of the King's own household for segregations for specific or definite activities.

44. It was when those activities were segregated into the colonizations, as would be termed; in hospitalizations; and in the industrial activities.

45. There the entity joined with those that were active in the divisions of those that had been purified through the temple service and the Temple of Sacrifice; setting them as it were in order for their specific work - as to whether artizans, agriculturists, lapidaries, or those in the hospitals, or those among the builders or the lawmakers.

46. For the entity then was a teacher in those experiences, as She-Sheput.

47. In the experience the entity made for that activity in which many came to the entity for counsel.

48. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, and that to which it may attain:

49. That there are wonderings, that there are still longings within the innate self, is evidenced by those emotions that are a part of the entity's self through its relationships to its fellow man in the material planes.

50. But as has been indicated, first find SELF and what the ideal is; and as to whether this is of a selfish or a universal nature.

51. For unless founded in spirit it must continue to bring disturbances mentally AND materially.

52. For peace, harmony and ASSURANCE, of the NOW AND the hereafter, may come only in being at peace with self.

53. Ready for questions.

54. (Q) Will my business improve in my new venture? (A) This question immediately indicates what we have just been giving; that it is THINGS - rather than SELF - that are interesting the entity. Have a purpose and NOT a selfish one, and we will find that the material things must be the outcome of service given. And when it is such, it is in keeping with thy relationship to thy Creator, thy service to thy fellow man, and the assurance in self that the world - yea thy fellow man that ye meet each day - is better for having KNOWN thee and for having been in association WITH thee! And unless that be the purpose, innately and manifestedly, how CAN it succeed?

For He is Lord of all; ye are either His or in opposition to His purposes in the earth. The Lord keep thee in His way!
