Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Mass. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1088].

2. Now, as we find, there are conditions that disturb the body and make for reactions that bring distress and disorders to the physical functionings of the body.

3. These we find are os specific natures, and affect the body functionally in organs and in general activities through the system; disturbing the circulation, the eliminations and the assimilations.

4. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [1088] we are speaking of:

5. First, in the BLOOD SUPPLY we find there are disturbing factors in the circulation itself; and that there are specific conditions which arise from pressures existent in portions of the system - this abnormal pressure, this disturbance in the metabolism of the system.

6. In the blood supply itself we find the existence of those influences that indicate toxic forces in the system, poor eliminations through the alimentary canal, disturbances in the activities of the excretory functioning and secretive activity of the liver - thus disturbing through the hepatic circulation.

7. These also indicate that there are specific conditions in the colon itself, not where the prolapsus has begun as yet - but with the engorgement or the plethora as produced by accumulations in the transverse and descending colon, these make for much of the toxic disturbances.

8. In the NERVE FORCES of the body, we find here a contributory cause as well as effects in the sympathetic or vegetative nerve system.

9. In the cerebrospinal nerve force, pressures upon those areas in the 9th and 10th dorsal centers are the areas in which subluxations are existent. Thus there has been a

1088-1 Page 2

slowing of the impulse to the activities of the intestinal tract, or colon area specifically; as well as to the impulses for the sympathetic activity from these pressures to the liver, the pancreas, the spleen.

10. This first began, then, as conditions that arise from the lack of eliminations through the alimentary canal; bringing to bear those pressures in these activities upon the slowing of the lymph circulation through these areas, reacting to the system as to produce that form of acid forces. And these, making for pressures in the system, affect sympathetically the activity of the organs as well as reflecting in the pulsation and in the activity of the heart itself; though no organic condition do we find existent there.

11. As to the activity of the ORGANS themselves, we find:

12. Brain forces in their reflexes are very good.

13. In the organs of the sensory system - as the sense of hearing, of vision - the impoverishment or the acidity has slowed the circulation through these portions of the body. Hence we have at times disturbances in each of these, making for the reactions to the VISION - as is indicated in the body.

14. In the throat, bronchi, lungs, larynx, here we have the effect of the necessity of greater oxidization of the blood supply. Hence there are periods when the body is easily susceptible to congestion, making for the flow of lymph to protect - as it were - not only the bronchi but the nasal passages, through the antrum and through the soft tissue in head and neck and throat. These are spasmodic, dependent upon those reactions in the nerve forces and the organs in the body from impulses as to the amount of acidity indicated in system.

15. Heart's action as indicated, though not an organic disturbance in the present. Allowed to remain, or to make applications direct that become too great a stimuli for the cardiac circulation, we would produce disturbing factors. Or the use of sediments that make for those activities where the influences upon the eliminating systems become disturbed, these still make for greater hardships upon the organ itself.

16. In the digestive system, here we find - from those conditions in the alimentary canal, as indicated - there are periods when apparently the least thing disagrees, or there is a fullness felt after meals; at other periods when a headache and a belching occurs after meals. Or it is what may be termed a NERVOUS indigestion; reflexes from non-activity of the organs of assimilation. Foods are slow

1088-1 Page 3

in leaving the stomach itself. The duodenum and those areas become more acid than should be by the lack of the influence of the gastric flows to perform normal functions. These are reflex and will become more and more disturbing unless the CAUSES are eliminated, rather than making application for effects that are produced in the system.

17. The liver, with its contributory functioning of organs and of glands to perform activity, becomes torpid at times - and it is indicated in the present as being in a state of not acting in a normal manner.

18. Through the actions of the intestinal system, those conditions as indicated exist. This disturbance in the colon makes for a heaviness in the left side, this extending at times across the lower portion of the abdomen to the caecum and ileum plexus areas brings distresses to the body and a heaviness through the lower motory actions; the limbs become numb at times from this impediment in the circulation.

19. The kidneys in their activities, that are disturbed at times by those sympathetic reflexes in the system, become not organically disturbed but rather there is a nervous reflex disturbance to same; though with the acidity the conditions are caused in the bladder at times that are disagreeable.

20. In meeting, then, the needs of the conditions of this body, [1088] we are speaking of:

21. First we would make the corrections through adjustments osteopathically in the dorsal and lumbar area, COORDINATING the lumbar plexus with the brachial plexus, and ADJUSTING those in the 9th and 10th dorsal centers; making for relaxations through the cervical areas that all drainages may be set up nearer nominally.

22. In the first we would make the adjustments or corrections in these areas three to four times each week for three or four weeks. Then we would rest from same for a period of a week, and then have the adjustments again for a period of two weeks; then a rest period, and then take again. This allows the system to adjust itself, and the applications of the massage AND adjustment to be more effective to the system.

23. Also in the first we would use the colonic irrigations to CLEANSE the colon, so that the fecal forces that have caused the distention and pressures in the areas indicated will allow the system to adjust itself for the normal flow of gastric forces and for activities in the system.

24. These irrigations would be preferably given with an alkalin solution; that is, use baking soda in the first

1088-1 Page 4

flush water, and an alkalin antiseptic (such as Glyco-Thymoline) in the last portion of the enema - or the rinse water for the colonic irrigation.

25. At first we would give two in the first week. Then skip almost a week, and have another. Then have another in ten days. Then take one again when the indications are seen that the system is not eliminating properly.

26. In the diets we would follow rather the alkalin-reacting foods; or this would be as an outline - though this does not mean that no other foods are to be taken:

27. Mornings - preferably citrus fruit juices, or fruits, or cereals that are not too much of the roughage (as the crushed whole wheat). But do not take cereals AND fruit juices at the same meal!

28. Let one meal each day be preferably only of raw vegetables. These may be taken in the manners that are the more palatable to the taste, for better assimilation.

29. Beware of too much starches; as potatoes or white breads. Not too great a quantity of sweets, but these may be taken in moderation - the NATURAL sweets are preferable (such as honey, and the sweets that are contained in fruits and vegetables).

30. And doing these, as we find, with consideration to the diet to keep the system in the nearer alkalin reactions, we would find normalcy should come to this body, [1088].

31. Do that

32. Ready for questions.

33. (Q) Is Dr. Levine's diagnosis correct? [Samuel A. Levine, M.D.?] (A) No; only in part.

34. (Q) Would Miami Beach, Florida, prove beneficial to my body, during the winter months? If not, where should I go? (A) As we find, the west coast of Florida for the body in the winter is preferable to the east coast. Why? The variation in the atmospheric pressures as would be effective upon the body, and the proximity of the foods and influences that would be effective to this system.

35. (Q) Any other suggestions at this time? (A) In the corrective forces for the body, as the body attempts to make for those changes or alterations in its physical reactions for physical improvement, let the purpose and the mind be that the OPPORTUNITIES that are offered through the recuperative forces will be used CONSTRUCTIVELY, unselfishly. Thus life and experiences to the body may become more worth while.

36. We are through for the present.
