1. GC: You will have before you the entity [1100], nee [...] born September 18, 1895 in Mobile, Ala., who now seeks a Check Life reading; with guidance especially as to previous associations and their influence in the present, also as to present activities in order to be of the greater service and to best meet the situations arising in the world of today. You will answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1100].
3. In respect to associations with varied individuals, or groups of individuals with which an entity has been associated - as these phases of one's experience are considered, it is well that there be the proper understanding as concerning the laws respecting time, place, and how individuals are naturally attracted in group activity. And no matter in what realm, or in what material place, those phases of experience where there has been an activity of an individual entity, either some individual or some phase of individuals' activities may be met.
4. While the problems to be met are not always with the same individual entities, they are relatively worked out as to their varied positions in respect to the prompting influence or urge of the entity through such an experience.
5. Then, we would give an illustration to the entity of such associations - also as to the universal laws that bring about the relative relationships under varied circumstance:
6. What an entity sows, that it reaps. In relation to what? That chosen in the experience as the ideal of the entity, AND the relationship such knowledge or such an ideal has to the first cause or premise - or God; according to how true, or how well in keeping with those ideals, one applies self.
7. Each entity must answer for its OWN choosing, as well as for those it - as an entity - has persuaded or prompted in certain directions.
8. For, it is true - physically, mentally or spiritually -
1100-31 Page 2
that if the blind lead the blind, BOTH will fall into the ditch.
9. In the experiences of meeting individuals and groups - as the entity has experienced through the present contacts or associations - certain urges arise emotionally, mentally and spiritually from sojourns in the earth, and these have been a part of the experience because of associations with individual entities; whether these were purely material associations, mental associations or spiritual associations.
10. The spirit alone keeps alive. The material, that is of the earth-earthy, passes with the earth, yet leaves its mark upon the individual entity - rather than upon a group; though individuals are grouped as associates again because of an urge of a complex or compound nature, or because of an universal urge.
11. Thus the necessity for choosing the spiritual ideal, in relationship to the Creative Forces - the first cause, the first premise, or God.
12. Then, in the light of these, the entity may study, understand and comprehend, as it meets or is associated with varied individuals.
13. For instance, the associations it has experienced with the present companion. Not that you each think as the other, or that you both think alike, but you each are the complement to the other in the material, the mental and the spiritual aspirations and desires; not wholly the same, but complementary one to the other.
14. Thus from the material angle the associations become ideal. In comparing the experiences of each through the earthly sojourns there may be indicated the periods of closer association in the material sense, in which there were those phases of advancement, development as comparable one to the other in spiritual, mental and physical attributes.
15. Thus the oneness as evidenced in the present associations.
16. Using such as a criterion, as a measuring stick, then - by comparison there may be understood the various associations of purposes and ideals of individuals as compared to self. And almost from the associations with the companion it may be understood at what period there must have been an association, or a material, mental or spiritual attraction that has brought an association in the present material sojourn.
17. Now analyze these thoroughly, slowly; not necessarily methodically, but systematically; and much understanding may be the outcome from same.

18. Ready for questions.
19. (Q) Give something of the relationships or associations with the following persons in previous lives, and how the present associations may be used for mutual advantage: First, [1472]? (A) As we may find by comparison of the experiences of each in the earth, these border on the mental and spiritual attributes where the urges brought the activities together. Hence it is from such phases that the activities in the present become the more intriguing, the more closely knit; when such subjects, such activities are the promptings for the associations; while the material associations would soon bring discouragements, for these were NOT a portion of the experience or association in other appearances.
20. (Q) My mother, [3770]? (A) Here we find, as comparisons, a different character of association from that just indicated. These activities together bordered more upon the material things; not as one dependent upon the other, but - as through the Egyptian, the Palestine-Grecian experiences - the combining of material efforts for material benefits, as well as mental and spiritual prospects. Hence in the present there are periods of helpfulness, but most of these border closer to the material than to the mental and spiritual relationships.
21. (Q) My father, [2951]? (A) Here we find an influence in which there were those associations through the periods of self-expression; so that there arises in the associations in the present experience a dependency of each upon the other, mentally and materially. There were associations in the sojourn just before this, as well as in Egypt.
22. (Q) Mrs. [1010]? (A) These we find rather of the complex nature, combining the mental and spiritual into helpful forces from the material angle. Thus there are those periods of blank spaces, as may be termed, between their helpful forces. The associations were in the Promised Land, in Egypt, and in the experience before this. Hence we find the various phases of the mental and
1100-31 Page 4
spiritual; not always agreeing, yet as a stay one for the other under periods or series of stresses as may occur from time to time.
23. (Q) How may I be of greater service? (A) As to this, of course, the answer comes only from within self. Who is to say as to whether any individual is great? He that fulfill to the fullest his ideals in relationship to his fellow man. For, as one does to others is the measure of greatness or goodness towards the Creative Forces. Remember, the judgments of man are ever very uncertain. The sureness in the judgments of the Father are in helpfulness to others, to self.
24. (Q) In view of forthcoming changes to our government, which will affect the economic and social conditions, would it be advisable to purchase a home on a small plot of land, with the idea of being as self-sustaining as possible? (A) This, as we have indicated through these channels, should be the ideal of EVERY individual in this land. As to where such a choice would be made, this would depend upon circumstance. The entity and its companion have those associations with groups or individuals that to them represent security, safety, in the material, mental and spiritual influences. So in that union of companionship, being the complement one to the other, the choices should be among or close in associations with those groups or individuals that also represent a complement in the ideas and ideals of the group - or of the entity itself. [A.R.E.?] But each individual should be able - by the grace of the divine - to create or build or supply those things for material sustenance. Hence this should be the idea and ideal of every individual; not only because of the general economic conditions as may become existent in this present land, but because each individual in itself needs the sustaining forces from nature. So does the INFLUENCE of the union of the spirit of such bring a universal consciousness for not only trust in, but the application of that trust to the daily life and experience.
25. (Q) In what particular section of the U.S. should we establish this home? (A) Read what has just been referred to. In whatever section is close in association with those helpful ideals of a group or a mass that becomes a part of a contributing
1100-31 Page 5
influence to security in mental and spiritual, as well as material forces. [A.R.E.?]
26. (Q) How soon should this be done? (A) The sooner the better. [6/22/42 See husband's rdg. 470-35 in re cooperative farming.]
27. (Q) Please give further advice on how to meet these changing conditions. (A) Nothing better may be stated than that which has been given: Study to show thyself approved unto thy ideal, as a workman in all phases of the experience not ashamed, but rightly dividing the words of truth; that is, putting the emphasis where emphasis is due, for the glory to God - not as justifying of self, but justified in Him; keeping self in that attitude of mind, of body, of purpose, that may not even be questioned in self or in others. For then the life is so lived that there can be no question, in the mind of any whom the entity may meet, as to Who is the Author of thy faith.
