This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of February, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1109], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1069]''s son.

Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1109].
2. As we find, there may be said to be a complication of disturbances preventing a normal reaction in the physical forces of the body.
3. While some portions of same respond very good at times, others - through hindrances and pressures that exist where cellular forces have become involved in ganglia - make for a deadening, or the inability of a normal reaction.
4. To give those things that have been the causes, as we find:
5. There existed in times back an activity, a stress or strain upon the body physically and mentally, that brought about an abnormal pulsation.
6. Through same there was a thinning of the walls of the circulatory system.
7. Thus there were produced the separations in the walls, as it were; and the inability of the forces to produce proper coagulation brought about the present distresses.
8. Naturally, from these conditions - and as these conditions developed - there arose the inactivity in organs of the circulation; affecting the respiratory system, the liver and the hepatic circulation, the heart's activity, and the digestive or assimilating forces of the body.
9. Through those applications that have been administered, much of this has been relieved in part. Yet, as we find, there may be brought about much nearer, much better normal conditions for the body. For we would use those properly balanced elements to create the regular or coordinating influences between the assimilating forces. And we would remove the pressures in the cerebrospinal system, especially along the distressed area, through coordinating the upper dorsals with the lumbar and the axis of same. We would add within the system those influences that will work upon the
1109-1 Page 2
digestive forces and the assimilating. Also we would add those vibrations to keep an equilibrium between the superficial and the deeper circulation.
10. THE BLOOD SUPPLY, besides being under stress and strain, this shows also other disturbing factors; though it is better in some respects than it has been in other times - or previously - when the greater distress arose.
11. There is, as we find, a lesion - then - in the 4th dorsal - BETWEEN the 4th and the 5th dorsal ganglia. This causes the distressed areas; not only as to the impulses to the functioning of the organs as indicated, but as to those impairments to the circulation, also the pressures as produced in the locomotory forces and the stresses that leave sediments in the system that make for contractions at times in the tendon and muscular forces of the extremities.
12. So, in the present, we would begin with these:
13. First, we would have a compound prepared to be taken internally, in this way and manner:
14. To a gallon and a half (1 1/2) of Distilled Water, add - in the order named, and in these proportions: Wild Cherry Bark..........2 ounces, Sarsaparilla Root.........1 ounce, Golden Seal...............1 ounce, Snake Root..............1/4 ounce, Yellow Dock Root........1/2 ounce, Cinchona Bark...........1/2 ounce. Reduce by slow simmering until the quantity when strained off is 1 quart. Then, while warm, add 1 1/2 ounces of Pure Grain Alcohol with 2 drams of Balsam of Tolu cut in same.
15. This would be as a tonic, as an emit, and as a corrective for the digestive forces. The dose would be half a teaspoonful three times each day, AFTER the meals.
16. Also we would begin at once with the osteopathic manipulations twice EACH week, that will make for a coordinating of those conditions along the upper dorsal area. But make the applications also in the lumbar and throughout the limbs, and especially to the feet; that we may remove those tendencies that exist upon the extremities as well as upon the brachial center and to the head and neck. Also we would alleviate those distresses to the sympathetics, that tend to make for disorders through the activity of the organs of the sensory system.
17. Each day as the body rests, just before retiring, we would use the Radio-Active Appliance. Make the connections each time to the upper extremities first, and then to the
1109-1 Page 3
lower extremities on the opposite sides of the body. Or to the right wrist and left ankle on the first day, then to the left wrist and right ankle the next. Keep same attached for thirty to sixty minutes. Or if the body finds that it dozes off, let the appliance remain until it awakens.
18. The Compound and the Radio-Active Appliance would be taken throughout the period.
19. The osteopathic manipulations, we find, would preferably be taken for a period of three to four weeks, then a rest period from same of a week, then another treatment period of three to four weeks, then a rest period, then another series.
20. In sixty to ninety days after the beginning of the full line of the suggested applications, or after the third series of osteopathic treatments, we would then give further instructions or suggestions for corrective measures.
21. Be mindful of the diet, that quantities of starches and proteins (or meats) are not taken at the same meal. Eat the meats and sweets together. Or eat the starches in fruits and vegetables, rather than in quantities of bread.
22. Drink plenty of water at all times. While there may be an accentuation of some of the disturbances through a portion of the treatments, if these are applied in a consistent manner - as we find - we may bring better conditions for this body, [1109].
23. But, at the period indicated, we would give further instructions.
24. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See letters [which were enclosed] to Druggist and Osteopath. See letter [which was enclosed] to Health Home Remedies Co., with directions for the Radio-Active Appliance; also article explaining theory of same.)
