Time of Reading Taken 12:05 to 12:40 Noon. Set 11:00 to 12:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.J. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1118].

2. Now, as we find, the disturbing conditions in the better physical forces of the body are very definite in SOME ways and manners; and in others are very unusual.

3. We find that the condition may be described as both pathological and psychological. Hence there are those conditions that DO NOT respond to the pathological reactions that should be expected.

4. For, as we find with this body, as an example:

5. The disturbances in a physical body may be of a psychological nature (that is, as in this body, affectations through the sympathetic or sensory forces - or that RESPOND through same), irrespective of pathological effects.

6. Hence we find an indication here of how, while the nerve reflexes and nerve reactions of the cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems are and should be coordinant and cooperative in their activity, they MAY react in a physical body (as in this) INDEPENDENTLY one from the other.

7. They may do so in the same manner that a mind, or Mind, may react irrespective of the impulses along which it in ordinary activity performs its functions - along the nerve forces of the body. Or the mind may function INDEPENDENTLY of the body.

8. The sympathetic system, or the responses (as in this body), may be independent, then, of a pathological condition.

9. NOW: The psychological reactions are of the soul. Then, there may be - as indicated in a body of this nature - a response from karmic relationships; as termed by some students of mind and matter - and their relationships one to another.

10. Hence when there are applications made for a condition of this nature, such associated relationships must be taken

1118-1 Page 2

into consideration.

11. For, in the activities of the physical body (as in this, of [1118]), there must be the cooperation of the mental body and the soul body; they must coordinate one with another. Yet we see the effects in a pathological and a psychological condition showing that these have chosen to function as separate units, or separate activities in the system - from the very influences that go to make up such activities in a physical body as one.

12. These influences - the mind, the body, the soul - are coordinant in specific centers. This may be seen from relexes that may be brought about in a body through the psychological tests that may be made of different forms or manners.

13. Here we find the affectation coming, in conjunction with the psychopathic condition, with the sensory forces; or those portions wherein the body responds to odors - or those channels through which the reflexes to the brain forces or to the sensory force of the body itself are through the olfactory nerves of the body.

14. Physically, then, or pathologically, we find a condition in the sinus, in the nasal passages, in the throat, in the manner the blood supply itself is affected - through the urea, or the activity which may be classified in that way and manner.

15. When an impression is received by the mental forces of the body, and it begins to act upon the physical organisms through the channels that are indicated in responsive reflexes to portions of the system itself, that action which physically occurs (not that acted upon, but that condition in activity) may be said to be the psychic influence - or soul influence, from the very activity of the entity in its relationships to matter in a material plane, forcing or using or influencing the conditions that come about in manifested form in a physical body.

16. Just as may be indicated (This aside, please) by the channel through which this information is at present being given. This mental body [Edgar Cayce] is acting independently of the physical body, but using the physical body for a descriptive measure of those conditions taking place in an astrological or SOUL-force of a body in its relationship to the universal or cosmic body of another individual or entity. See? (Keep this aside.)

17. In this body, then, of [1118] we find conditions which indicate that there may be brought to bear upon the body influences which will be reactive and reactory to the physical forces of the body to ELIMINATE!

1118-1 Page 3

18. How? By REPLACING the character of reactions in the physical forces of the body to meet the needs in the mental, in the physical, for the expression of the soul force or the PSYCHIC body that manifests through the activity of both the physical and mental body here.

19. Conditions pathological, as we find:

20. There is a lack of the efficiency or efficacy of the blood supply to produce within the physical body at all times proper coagulation. Or there is a less quantity of the leucocytes in the blood supply than is indicated as necessary for the better physical reactions in the body. This is indicated more in the urea, and in the number of the hormones within the blood force itself - or in the hemoglobin of the blood itself.

21. Thus we find the inability (pathologically) for the body to meet or to cope with the breaking down of cellular force in this particular portion of the body.

22. For, there being in the physical structure of the body, in the 3rd, 2nd and 4th dorsal, in the 4th and 5th cervical, a deflection of impulse from the cerebrospinal system itself, of nerve energies to the frontal portions of the bodily forces through the facial activities, there has gradually been broken down the ability of the impulse in the circulation - both of the lymph and the full blood forces - to carry TO these portions the full efficacy of the blood stream itself that is necessary for bringing HEALING to the bodily functions.

23. Hence we find those elements known as the electrons of the oxygenic forces that act upon the hemoglobins and urea of the blood itself are sufficient in these particular portions in the bodily functions; thus causing a localized condition there.

24. Yet, we find, as indicated from the conditions in the mouth, the gums, the throat, ALL of these portions of the system are made to become rather LACKING or impoverished by this very pressure indicated in those specific centers.

25. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM, then, we find that these particular areas as indicated - 3rd, 4th, 2nd dorsal, 4th, 5th cervical - the coordinant centers between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems in these particular areas - are at variance one to another. Or their UNISON of contacting influences is broken, by this lack of impulse that has been existent for some time back - and was brought about, as we find, by a wrench in a struggle in some way or manner, in which these were lacking (these areas or influences) in being brought back - Yes, it's a very fraction of a millimeter, but these are sufficient to make

1118-1 Page 4

for impulses to be built up or broken.

26. Then, when the conditions became localized, we find the applications of those influences from a purely pathological standpoint had to meet or combat the psychological influences and the impulses that were broken.

27. Thus, there has not been brought a removal of the CAUSES.

28. Hence, even though the condition becomes some better, owing to atmospheric pressures, owing to conditions that may be produced by various characters of odors or the effect of odors upon the soft tissue of the face - as may affect through the pathological reaction of tissue in the circulation through the lymph and soft tissue of the portions of the face and body, the results become only temporary - and the causes themselves are not eliminated from the body.

29. As to the conditions produced in the ORGANS themselves:

30. The swelling is the attempt of the body to meet the condition through producing sufficient of the hormones in the urea or the cellular forces from the leucocyte influence; to meet the accumulations of an impoverished circulation by a pressure. Thus swelling occurs, choking occurs, drippings occur at times when the reactions begin to set in - from the natural secretions that come from inflammation as may be created by such as an ordinary cold (as an illustration; not of the same nature), where tissue becomes involved and there are the attempts of the lymph to create an impulse to choke off the bacilli that attack the body in the soft tissues of throat or the nasal passages, or even the lung forces themselves.

31. So, the conditions exist in the soft tissue, and ESPECIALLY of the nasal forces. And the reactions become both pathological and psychological; AFFECTING the INNER self.

32. We find that the applications, then, should be to make for a correction of the CAUSES; thus making for a reaction through the mental, upon the physical, upon the inner self or the psychic forces, that will PRODUCE a coordinant, cooperative influence in the physical body, [1118].

33. First, then, we would begin with OSTEOPATHIC manipulations AND adjustments; that there may be a relaxing of - and a movement created in - the upper dorsal and the cervical areas as indicated (3rd, 2nd and 4th dorsal, in the 4th and 5th cervical). Thus there may be a releasing of those tendencies that have impoverished the upper portion of the body. Also we would coordinate the CENTRAL portion, or the 9th dorsal and 4th lumbar and 1st and 2nd cervical; that

1118-1 Page 5

DRAINAGES may be set up THROUGHOUT the whole system, that the poison forces that have been as accumulations may not be just moved to other portions - as to cause affectations to other portions of the body - but may be removed entirely from the system. We would give such osteopathic treatments or manipulations and adjustments three times a week.

34. Then, there must be considered the local condition that has existed in the soft tissue of the face, the neck, the throat, the nasal passages. Hence we would use a fusion or a gas that would be formed from Icthyol with Ammonia, as a spray; combined in this manner:

35. As Ammonia and Icthyol dissolve or become gas from varied heat, then heat both until they become as gas - and let them come together. And from this fusion that comes, prepare same for use as a spray - by the use of very much diluted alcohol to keep same in a state of solution that may be sprayed. The activity of this combination of elements upon the soft tissue is to bring an allaying of the inflammation, and to also act as a cleanser to prevent reinfection. Thus a condition may be produced wherein the circulatory forces (that will be increased and changed by the releasing of the blood supply in its normalcy through the flow into the upper portion - with the osteopathic treatments, properly given) may add to the system the necessary influences to overcome these conditions in this body.

36. The spray would be used, then, after each of the manipulative and adjustment treatments. Yet this would be found to be more beneficial, or most beneficial, if it is prepared so that it may be used whenever there is a tendency for the physical forces of the body to react to the impulses already set up. Hence it may be used as a spray at other periods also; once, twice a day; but not TOO MUCH of same, as to cause such a coating of the fusion as to become detrimental.

37. Do these.

38. Keep the allaying of the impulses by the manipulative forces, suggestive forces.

39. And in the bodily functions keep an alkalin diet. Not wholly, to be sure, but let the tendencies in the food values become more and more towards an alkalin reaction. For the very NATURE of the disturbance in the lymph and the emunctory circulation is from overacidity or superacidity. As there is an excess of diffused forces, these are of themselves putrid - and become acid in their decomposition within the body itself, as the bodily changes go about. For, as is understood, the influences of a bodily function

1118-1 Page 6

are such that it changes its whole structural force by throwing off broken down tissues. And as there is an excess in these portions, there is the NECESSITY of keeping an alkalinity throughout the body.

40. Do that.

41. Ready for questions.

42. (Q) Can this spray be given by the body, or must it be given by a physician? (A) Best by a physician; though, after it has been begun, it may be used by self in the home. Do these things.
