1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1131]; this we have had before.
2. Now as we find, conditions have changed somewhat from that as we have had here before. In some respects conditions are much bettered, as in a general manner. But locally or specifically conditions show for greater distresses in portions of the body.
3. And now the greater part of the disturbances arises from this localizing of the conditions. Then the effect of these in the manners they react upon the system.
4. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body in the present, [1131] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. In the circulatory forces (that is, the blood supply, the nerve energies), these show improvements; save as for the effects as we shall see, through the localizing of the congestion in portions of the body.
6. When cold and congestion has affected the body, as in the present, it (the congestion) has localized in the soft tissue of the face, or in the upper and the lower antrum. And this congestion, as it drains from the system poisons, produces an irritation through the mucous membranes of the throat and thus - ENTERING through the digestive forces - upsets the whole system by the superacidity as produced there, forming almost the same character of effect through the stomach or digestive system as that of a catarrhal condition.
7. Thus the lack of appetite, or just the reverse as may come at times; the desire for food but soon satisfied; the lack of the proper digestion, and disturbances through elimination. But the greater distress becomes the soreness of the throat, the lack of the ability to rest, the pressure upon the tissues of the head giving headaches and the aching across
1131-4 Page 2
back of the head, through the shoulders; the chilly, cold sensations - and yet hot sensations also.
8. These become then as the result or the effect of this condition. For we find through the sinus and through the antrum, through those soft tissues, the localized congestion.
9. While those applications as were indicated for this aided, these were not in the whole prepared in such a manner - or APPLIED in such a manner - as to relieve entirely these distresses.
10. Hence we would change these for the changed conditions, as well as making other applications when it is possible - but these will be found to be necessary if we would bring the normal forces or alleviate the conditions without greater distress for the body:
11. First we would take internally a laxative that makes for the tendencies towards keeping an alkalinity in the system; as with those properties of Fletcher's Castoria. Take a small size bottle in about three or four doses, two to three hours apart.
12. After these begin to act, begin with small quantities (once or twice a day) of Glyco-Thymoline, taken internally. Three to six drops about twice a day, in half a glass of water.
13. As a spray for the nasal passages and for the throat, use these alternately. For their effects are different yet their combining with the effects of the mucous membranes and the circulatory forces should keep and should create an elimination and a throwing off of these conditions. Hence it will be necessary then, until the excess of poisons are eliminated by the sprays in the circulation, to every few days take those properties again of the Castoria and follow same with the Glyco-Thymoline.
14. Use as a spray of an evening, before retiring, Glyco-Thymoline full strength. But do not use it as cold as the ordinary temperature, but have it about the temperature of the body. Put it in the bottle from which the spray is used (or atomizer) and place in warm water until it has it about the temperature of the body. Spray this in the nasal passages (holding the head way back). Spray the throat with same.
15. Of mornings use Atomidine; two teaspoonsful to an ounce of distilled water, for spraying the throat and nostrils. This will tend to not only act as an antiseptic but as a healing property; while the Glyco-Thymoline acts as an antiseptic and as an alkalizer for the body.
16. These as we find, if they are kept, will bring about
1131-4 Page 3
bettered conditions.
17. Until there is the alleviation, we would find that of an evening when ready to retire, it would be helpful if the sinus and the antrum were painted with a combination of three parts Laudanum to one part Aconite, and then the hot (not too hot, but hot) saturated solution of Epsom Salts applied. This will tend to make for the breaking up and the disseminating of the congestion. When used, do not go out in the cold soon afterwards, but keep this on for twenty to thirty minutes, when the body is ready to rest. It will bring rest and disseminate the congestion, producing the greater amount of the flow of the lymph TO the throat - and will tend to make for spitting up or throwing off through the nasal passages, or both, this congestion; then make for an irritation to the mucous membranes of the digestive forces.
18. Hence the necessity of alkalizing the system, and as we find any alkalizer that preferably has the tendency toward a laxative is preferable, but NOT too often. The Castoria as an eliminant, the Glyco-Thymoline internally as an intestinal antiseptic. Sal-Hepatica would be very well as an alkalizer, occasionally, but DO NOT take it too often! Or Fleet's Phospho-Soda would be well, or Upjohn's Citrocarbonates as an alkalizer would be very good.
19. With the diet do not eat too much meats, especially rare meats. Do not eat fried foods whenever it is possible to eliminate same. Do not eat too much of white bread. Do not combine potatoes AND white bread, or white potatoes and bread at the same meal. Lamb, fish or fowl are preferable as meats. At least have two to three raw vegetables if possible during some meal each day.
20. Keep the feet warm. Be mindful that there is not more congestion taken; and we should find these conditions disappearing.
21. In making the application of the painting with the Laudanum-Aconite solution, followed by the saturated solution of Epsom Salts hot, do not take these and go out in the weather soon after. Let there be at least three to four to six hours between these. But this will RELIEVE the headaches, the pains through the face, and disseminate the congestion that is now the basis of the trouble.
22. And occasionally, once to twice a month, a thorough osteopathic treatment would be helpful; provided such a treatment includes the coordination of ALL the central centers of the cerebrospinal system and is not given just above the diaphragm through the upper dorsal, cervical and head area - but is extended all the way along. This to

relax the body.
23. Do these and we will bring the near normal conditions for this body, [1131].
24. Ready for questions.
25. In the mental forces let there be the constructive influences ever; NEVER as condemning of self or of others. This makes for, in the mental attitude, a greater constructive force. DO NOT allow self to become angry; for this creates, with congestion, disturbances throughout the alimentary canal, hard upon the heart forces and upon the digestive system.
