Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [1151], of ..., N.Y.C., who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his present work, affairs and associations. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [1151]; together with the information which has been given at times through these channels.

3. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) If it is possible and desirable for [1848] to be our next President, under which party should he receive his nomination? (A) As we find, and as indicated, there needs to be such an one with the ideals and purposes of one minded such as [1848]. For, with the changing affairs and conditions as to policies, national and international relationships, in the present and in the coming period, there will be a great stress upon the institutions of every nature or character, - of the government and the policies of the nation. As to which of the parties the body or entity would be the candidate of - this must and is to be a choice by the body itself. But there needs be such an one, and such policies that are the ideals of this entity, if there would be weathered the storm of protests of the various natures that are to arise in the experience of the land. If it is practical or plausible, on the Republican ticket would be the better - but this is to be a choice of [1848] himself.

5. (Q) Have you any plans of procedure to suggest to assure the accomplishment of this end? (A) As has been indicated, let it be fully understood - by those who are empowered with that authority to make nominations - as to the policies, the abilities, the acquaintance with the problems that are to be met. These

alone, as we find, are the plans; that there should be more of a coalition, a combination, as we find - other than this there would be such a shifting, or promises, that would endanger the welfare.

6. (Q) What suggestions have you for me to help in carrying through this program? (A) Only the demands and commands of the various groups and organizations that are to be so much affected by whoever is the nominee from either of the major political parties.

7. (Q) Is it probable that Wendell Willkie will be named the presidential candidate of the Republican Party at Philadelphia this month? If so, shall I attend this convention? (A) We would attend the convention by all means! The enabling of some to change the status of the promised votes of the various states or sections may bring about such, but we do not find it so. There is too great an opposition to this body in some sections of the United States for there to become a unanimous, or sufficiently unanimous vote for such nominations.

8. (Q) Am I following my best good in forming the American Investors Service Corporation? (A) As we have indicated, this is a step in the correct direction. Also as we have indicated, there will need to be some such assurance to those who are, and who will be, the investors in the months and years to come; especially at this period of transitions that are to take place in the financial status of the many INTERNATIONAL situations that are to be a part of the policies and problems of such an investment corporation.

9. (Q) Shall I change the name of the Savings Bank Journal to Investors Journal, beginning with the August or September number? (A) This, too, is to be a matter of choice by those in authority, and those who are formulating the policies of such a publication. As we find, it will alter the status of the publication with many of the financial institutions, putting a question mark before same, as it were; yet this would be the answer to many who are desirous of keeping in touch with the thought and activity of investors of a national nature.

10. (Q) Is Arther C. Von Stein a right assistant for me to have in the new corporation? (A) As we find, for a while this would be a most agreeable association and connection; and then it would be dependent upon the policy of the entity is kept as the changes come about - as to whether it is a continuous condition or association or not. For, in all such activities of such a

1151-26 Page 3

publication, there must be the keeping very close to that which has been and is the policy of one [1151].

11. (Q) Am I proceeding satisfactorily in the development of these service facilities through the new corporation? (A) As we find, proceeding in the present in a very satisfactory manner.

12. (Q) Will the [1266] family suit against Ohio Goodyear Securities Co. and [1265] be terminated satisfactorily? (A) As we find, an eventual satisfaction will be reached as respecting this condition. In the beginnings it will depend a great deal upon just how this is handled, but we do not find it becoming a complete operation in the NEAR future; though there may be worked out a basis upon which the activities of all concerned in their relationships to the development of the properties may be decided, as the basis of all the disputes or disturbances - but not fully, wholly settled in the immediate future. This depends too much upon the wills and activities of those who go to make up the whole situation. Then as we find, it is well that there be no malice, no injustice attempted in any way or manner, no short cuts taken - if the very best for all would come to an conclusive end.

13. (Q) Can I help to this end? (A) In aiding, as indicated, to get the factions together. As indicated, the better means will be for this entity, [1151], to attempt to reconcile or to draw out the activities so as to be in the position as the advisor all the way through. This is the best means to pursue in this direction.

14. (Q) About when will this be accomplished? (A) Again, as indicated, this is not so much a problem of cause and effect, that may be figured as to the end thereof, but the preparations of various groups that would be affected by these changes. As to how long it will be before consummated is not indicated in the immediate present. Keep to those things and policies and ideals that have so oft given as justification of the activities of the entity among his fellow man. Varied and different will be the problems that will be presented now, soon, to those in the various circles in which the entity has aided and does aid in contributing much to the keeping of peace and harmony among various groups.

Let it always be meted with that same measure of confidence and faith, that same measure of helpfulness which has for such a period in this experience acted as the impelling influence.
