Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y.
1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: As we find with this body, there are PERIODS of improvement and then the inclination for periods when there is the too strenuous a reaction throughout the system.
3. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) Why haven't I finished eliminating the mucus, as last Reading said it could be accomplished before now? (A) Adding influences in the system of too great a quantity of foods of the nature that has caused or causes the tendency for the accumulation of more of the mucus, prevents - of course - the elimination of the mucus. If there will be those greater precautions and those applications as we find as have been indicated, this might be accomplished.
5. (Q) Have I been taking too much acid liquids? (A) Too much acid liquids without sufficient of the body or weight foods that would cause the proper activity through the alimentary canal.
6. (Q) What do you think of Schoelles' suggestion that I take no syrup of figs nor castoria but a morning enema and 4 teaspoons daily of "tricostivin" finishing on the fourth day with dose of old fashioned yellow castor oil? (A) This would be very well PROVIDED the foods that are taken during the time do not cause too great an accumulation of gas.
7. (Q) What changes do you suggest for insuring better daily eliminations? (A) This, of course, MUST be through the restoring of better peristaltic movement, as combined with general and natural assimilation of that which is part of the daily diet. For if there is the inclination for the diet to cause the
1152-8 Page 2
activities to be in some portions - as through parts of the lower portion or the stomach or upper duodenum, and through the lower portions to empty quickly or to flow out too much of the gastric flow and not keeping a balance between the upper and lower portion of the gastric flow - these will, of course, cause irritation. But if there is kept a better balance - As we find, these would be more preferable, if there would be, for the time being, the daily use - for three to four to five days - of the high irrigation. This may be taken at home - not to cause such a great strain, but this of a morning. Then those foods such as the cut oats (steel cut oats), - that is, the whole oat meal, or cut oats, you see, cooked a long time; or cereals such as whole wheat and barley; these alternated at times, of course, with the orange juice or the grapefruit. These would be the morning meal, you see. And after each of these meals, we would take a small dose of Milk of Bismuth - half a teaspoonful in a half a glass of water, with five drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in same. Then at the noon meal have the cooked vegetables (ALL cooked) that are well combined, - And in the evening a little of meats or vegetables combined with same. After the evening meal, the Milk of Bismuth may be taken with the Lactated Pepsin. Or IF this should make for the burning in the stomach, use the Alcaroid - half a teaspoonful in two glasses of water; of course, dissolved first in a little quantity, then the glass filled, and then an extra glass of water taken. The quantity of food taken at the meals, of course, should be that to satisfy the appetite. Then, at the end of the four days, take the Castor Oil.
8. (Q) Any specific combination of vegetables? (A) Those that are agreeable with the appetite, as well as those that are KNOWN to the body to be not only satisfying but that agree with the quantity of the gastric flow.
9. (Q) Do you advise occasionally my gagging throat in morning to cleanse stomach by vomiting? (A) No!
1152-8 Page 3
A little salt water, but not so salty as to produce gagging, for a few mornings would aid in settling the stomach. About a quarter teaspoonful in a little warm water. If this produces gagging, then vomit - but not by the finger or such.
10. (Q) Since stopping Pluto-water have had no further discharge of sand. Should Pluto be taken occasionally? (A) Rather there are the needs for that which will aid in the gastric flow, or aid in the liver flow, or gall duct, see? AFTER the four days, we find that CAROID would be most satisfactory - but not DURING that four-day period.
11. (Q) Are the following liquids desirable? Water, drained from soaked whole bran or oats? (A) Not necessarily. We would prefer taking the oats themselves, see? provided it is the cut oats and these are WELL COOKED. Not so much, but the water from this is not harmful - but it is IRRITATING to an already too fluid activity in the intestinal system.
12. (Q) What quantity daily of distilled drinking water? (A) Fresh spring water or tap water would be preferable to distilled water.
13. (Q) What quantity daily? (A) At least three to six glasses full.
14. (Q) Plain milk, buttermilk, or soft-curd milk? How much? (A) About three times a week, about four to six ounces of each or either or all. But not all at once, or not all taken at the same day.
15. (Q) Tea or coffee? (A) This should be in moderation. Once a day or the like. Coffee is preferable to tea, but not with milk or cream in same.
16. (Q) Herb tea and co-veg? (A) Once or twice a week if so desired. Not particularly beneficial, as we find, in the general conditions.
17. (Q) Should following fruits be taken? Lemons? How much? (A) Occasionally, one to two lemons - combined preferably with the orange juice; not necessarily every day, but when it is desired, then take about four ounces of orange juice, and about a quarter of a lemon squeezed in that much orange juice.
18. (Q) Should whole oranges be taken? (A) If so desired, occasionally. Preferably these taken as orange juice, for this body.
19. (Q) Pineapple juice? (A) Very well, but not too often. Two to four ounces when taken, would be the proper amount.
20. (Q) Tomato juice?
1152-8 Page 4
(A) Occasionally two to three ounces.
21. (Q) Baked apple or apple sauce? (A) About twice a week or three times a week, preferably taken in the evenings. This may be taken with or without cream - preferably the baked apple.
22. (Q) Bananas? (A) None!
23. (Q) Raisins, dates, figs, prunes? (A) These may be a part of the diet two to three to four times a week; a tablespoonful of either of these when taken.
24. (Q) Any stewed or canned foods (fruits)? (A) A combination of the canned fruits; preferably the evaporated and not the sulphured. Sufficient to satisfy the appetite, when taken.
25. (Q) What about the following foods? Plain rye bread, or 100% Bauerenbrot rye bread, or Ry-Krisp? (A) Either of these - preferably these should be toasted, any of them except the Ry-Krisp; and taken preferably with soups, juices or the like.
26. (Q) Whole wheat or Boston brown bread? (A) This may be altered as desired - once or twice a day.
27. (Q) How much bread daily? (A) Six ounces - ALL bread!
28. (Q) Butter? Sweet or salt? How much? (A) Sweet butter is preferable, if it is to be taken, but until there is a great deal of improvement not very much greases should be a part of the diet.
29. (Q) Honey, molasses, 100% Maple syrup? How much? (A) Honey - none of the other sweets, until there is a great deal of improvement in the assimilating system. About three times a week take the honey.
30. (Q) Sugar, white or brown. How much? (A) That used only in the coffee, or used in the general cooking. Preferably the brown sugars.
31. (Q) Salt, kind and amounts? (A) Kelp salt is preferable, and this only for the general seasoning.
32. (Q) "Nu-vege-sal"? (A) This - only as an aid to the digestion or to make things palatable, should it be used.
33. (Q) Yeast cakes? Quantity? (A) These should NOT be used until the conditions have been cleared, and then it should be taken in moderation - this would be better if taken about two cakes a day, but BEFORE the meals when they are taken, and taken periodically, - that is, every day for five days, leave off three to four days, and then take about three periods and then leave off a
1152-8 Page 5
MONTH! But not until conditions have changed!
34. (Q) Catalyn tablets? (A) When these are necessary or felt to be desirable. Sufficient for the activities desired.
35. (Q) Egg yolks? (A) All of these things depend - they are not to be taken regularly, but to satisfy - or quantity for the appetite. These may be taken about three times a week, but not so much until CHANGES have been wrought.
36. (Q) Baked potato, white or sweet? (A) Sweet potatoes twice a week, and one that is not larger than a goose egg. White potatoes about once a week, and about the size of a duck egg.
37. (Q) Milk soups? (A) These may be a part of the diet every day if so desired - but all of these things become DEPENDENT upon conditions in the body!
38. (Q) Have you any other food suggestions? (A) Fish and lamb may be taken, provided these are not fried.
39. (Q) If my hernia is held in place constantly day and night, will the hole in the inner pelvic lining heal satisfactorily? (A) This will depend upon the ability of producing through the area the circulation that would aid in bringing such about. With the use of such as a knot or rosette or something of the kind under a belt, would be the better way and manner of keeping same in place. This can be judged best by those making the adjustments and attempting to produce better circulation through the areas, see?
40. (Q) What has always caused excessive internal heat and such abnormal perspiration all over, that even my stockings are wet? How can this be rectified? (A) The very poor circulatory force through the coordinating activity of the liver with the rest of the circulatory system. And when these have been made so there is a more uniform circulation or coordination between superficial and cerebrospinal circulation, this will be corrected - and this may be indicated by the cold spots on portions of the abdomen and especially in the areas of the upper dorsal centers, or from the 6th to the lower portion of the cervicals. As long as there are cold areas there, then there is a very poor circulation that will NOT cause the attempt of the system to eliminate poisons through the proper channels - there being the attempt of the system to eliminate through the perspiratory system what should be eliminated through the alimentary canal. And these of
1152-8 Page 6
course, in their excesses, cause excess perspiration, heat in the internal portions - and portions of the system suffer under same.
41. (Q) Have I any internal growth as I frequently feel bloated and in great pain? (A) Rather is that of the nature of the lack of the proper activity through the lymph flow, and as the lymph flows through the greater portion of the activity of the digestive system, these follow - as is the condition at times - that there are accumulations in portions of the system and the folds in the duodenum that make for pressures in portions of the body, thus causing these disturbances.
42. (Q) What causes intense soreness directly below the breasts? (A) Portions of the activity of the liver, as indicated, and has long been under disturbance. These are spots, as it were, on those portions of that lobe of the area.
43. (Q) If there are exercises I should do daily, please describe. (A) Walking is the best exercise that may be taken. This should be done moderately, of course, and NOT in any extreme or stress.
44. (Q) Are there any suggestions mentally for me to hold? (A) ALWAYS creative forces, or knowing it is practical and possible for the mental forces to act upon and with the physical forces, but that each is a law unto itself when it is allowed to become excessive in its activity. Hence constructive or creative forces - or make the body, the mind, the soul coordinate, cooperate one with another to fill that purpose for which the entity, the soul has entered. This is the constructive thought to hold, putting about self always the Christ-Consciousness, the Universal Source of all that is good and holy.
