1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, conditions have changed somewhat from those as we have had before.
4. At times there are those upsetting conditions which cause more or less anxiety, as it were, through the functioning of the organs of the system. And this gives that tired, languidness; dizziness at times; and the hot and cold sensations to a little extent.
5. Then, as has been indicated heretofore for the body, there should not be such a confusion in the applications, or such conflicting emotions - either through the physical or the mental forces of the body.
6. There is some glandular disturbance, and an impoverishment in that direction - which is somewhat more severe in the present than has been indicated heretofore. The purifying of same, as we find, has been very well.
7. NOW there needs to be the reaction from applications more in this order, as we find for the body; considering first the glandular forces, or system:
8. We would have the proper adjustments along the cerebrospinal system, with special reference to drainages being set up in the areas of the lower cervical and upper dorsal; then coordinating these with the 9th dorsal and the lumbar axis areas.
9. These should be taken in series; that is, take them twice or three times a week for two weeks, leave off for a week or two weeks; then take them again twice a week for three weeks - and we would take them in the Dobbins' manner, preferably.
10. As to results desired or expected from these - we have indicated that they are to set up drainages better in the system, better body-building influences, quieting the nerves, and to bring about better activities throughout the body. This is indicated from the areas outlined where the
1158-23 Page 2
stimulation and drainages and coordinations are to be set up.
11. Also, as a stimuli to the activity of the glands - the thyroid as well as the glands of the reproductive system, and to aid in keeping a balance in the adrenals - we would take internally the TONICINE. The dosage would be a teaspoonful night and morning. As to whether this is to be taken during the rest periods from the osteopathic treatments, or throughout the period of the osteopathic adjustments, will depend upon the reactions to the general system, or the effect had upon the system in combination with the adjustments.
12. These combined - the osteopathic treatments and the Tonicine - should make for the greater changes necessary in the system.
13. It may become necessary later that these be used again, in regular routine - both the Tonicine for the glandular system and the general osteopathic corrections; but this will depend upon the reaction, to be sure.
14. Hence, do not take one without the other, for it is necessary for these to work together. To take one without the other would not be as helpful, and might prove a bit harmful.
15. Then, you wouldn't take a mile of one and an inch of the other, but in their proper combination so that they will work together - the Tonicine and the osteopathy, see? Use consistency!
16. Now, as to the diet:
17. There has been the tendency to leave off those things that make for a better stimulation to the blood and body-building forces. While fruit juices and vegetable juices are very good, these may be taken to extremes - as they have been at times here.
18. As we find, then, this would be as a manner or an outline for the diet; not that these would be the only things, but this merely as an outline:
19. Mornings - at least three times each week have either the crushed or cut whole wheat or cut oats; these cooked a long time. At other periods, but not on the same days when the cereal is taken, have the citrus fruit juices, - combining a little lemon with the orange juice; while the grape fruit or the pineapple may be taken as it is generally prepared. Of course, with any of these there may be taken eggs and whole wheat toast, or a little crisp bacon or the like, and cocoa or coffee or whatever is desired for a stimulating drink in the early morning.
20. Noons - soups or salads, with such as sandwiches or the
1158-23 Page 3
like (always using brown bread, however), and fruit juices or vegetable juices. It is preferable that the vegetable juices, both cooked and raw, be taken at the noon meal, instead of at other meals.
21. Evenings - well-cooked vegetables, with some meat; fish, fowl or lamb, principally.
22. These would be the general lines, with special reference to all vegetables or fruits that are of the yellow variety stressed in the diet. This would include the oranges and lemons, of course, and carrots and squash and the like; only the yellow neck squash, of course, or yellow squash that comes much later - but these can be obtained and might be a part of the diet in the present.
23. As to the quantity of raw vegetable juices at a time, - this would depend upon what would be included with same. Not more than two ounces, you see. This would include lettuce, celery, carrots and the like.
24. Then, keep the normal balance as related to the physical and mental activities; not overtaxing the body, and taking time for rest and recreation.
25. Ready for questions.
26. (Q) What am I NOT DOING, which I should do, to maintain health? (A) As indicated, there are too many CONFUSING things that are tried for the moment.
27. (Q) Can I achieve good digestion and eliminate bad morning breath? How? (A) This may be carried on with the activities as indicated, by setting up drainages through the system, see? Whenever there is a feeling of fullness after a meal, or heaviness through the stomach or abdomen, use Charcoal Tablets as an absorbent, and Alcaroid as an assistant for digestion. This we have indicated before. Use these only when such conditions occur, however - fullness in the stomach, the inclination for gas, or the like. These at times come from MENTAL reactions as much as from physical disorders; PRODUCING physical disorders by these reactions.
28. (Q) Should changes be made in my eating habits? (A) That will depend, to be sure, upon the needs. We do not find it necessary to change the HABITS so much as in the CHARACTER or manner of diet - which should be changed to that we have indicated as being needed in the present.
29. (Q) Will I benefit from lying daily 15 minutes on board with head lower than feet? (A) If such a period is used as a period of meditation,
1158-23 Page 4
very well; but the greater benefit will be obtained from the meditation! Though such a position, of course, will INDUCE the flow of influences and forces through the system, by such a deep meditation.
30. (Q) Can I overcome the bad cracking condition in my head? How? (A) By stimulating the areas indicated by mechanical (osteopathic) adjustments, and the making for better coordination and drainage through those channels of the system, as well as glandular forces of the body.
31. (Q) Shall I follow through Dr. Charlton's plan for Amniotine injections? (A) If this is desired, and to leave off all the rest, then do that. If you desire to do the other things which as we find would be the better, then do those and leave off the injections.
32. (Q) How can I further balance my glands? (A) This may best be done in the manners as we have outlined, as we find; and we are through with this Reading. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See separate sheet [which was enclosed] for Dr. Dobbins.) r. Dobbins.)
