Time of Reading 4:40 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., New York. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. And the body is experiencing one of the little attacks it has with the nerves or the head.

2. We find there are disturbing conditions in the better physical forces of the body, [1171]. These, as we find, have to do with specific conditions that have been the the result of impairment to glandular secretions. And the effects from the nature of these that have been produced as disturbing factors upon the system.

3. As we find, these then are the conditions that disturb this body, [1171]:

4. In the disturbing factors, as has been indicated these arise from a lack of the balance of elements necessary for the completeness of the functioning of the organs activative through the pelvis, and especially as related to the coordination between the adrenals, the pineal; those activities with the thyroid becoming involved in the condition.

5. And the results are severe pains in the throat, the head, the base of the brain, through portions of the head. And those applications that have been administered at times make for only an upsetting of the digestive forces through their activity upon the hypogastrics and the pneumogastrics in their relationship to assimilation and digestion.

6. These are effects, these are causes.

7. While the blood supplies and the general nervous system show negative reactions in most instances, and the metabolism shows almost a normal balance, the katabolism shows an upsetting through the very activities that have been indicated.

8. As we find, then, the applications of a specific nature would be effective for assistance to this body.

9. Inasmuch as the circulatory forces of the body, as related to and as coordinant with the activities of the bodily functions, are vibratory in their nature, the

1171-1 Page 2

addition then of an electrical vibration that would be rather as a heating to the nerve forces as supply more directly to the centers, the ganglia along the cerebrospinal system that coordinate with the activity of these glands and their action in the system, should be most effective.

10. As we find, then, the low form of a diathermy treatment would be the better; making the applications to the lower portion of the 9th dorsal and to the umbilicus or lacteal and gall duct areas. Give this not oftener than once or twice a week at the most; or some periods two in one week, other periods one in a week, until six, eight or ten are taken. These will have produced then an effect upon the system that may be distributed by a general massage.

11. Such a massage would then be given osteopathically, making specific corrections in the coccyx end of the spine as coordinates with the activity of the organs through the pelvis and the axis in the 4th lumbar center, 9th dorsal center, and - of course - throughout the upper dorsal and through the cervical area for coordinations.

12. These, as we find (the osteopathic treatments), would only begin AFTER there has been given the six to ten of the diathermy treatments, you see, as indicated.

13. We would also begin with very small doses of Atomidine (atomic iodine) when the massages and osteopathic adjustments are begun. One minim before the morning meal, one minim before retiring of evening - taken in half a glass of water; sufficient only to make for reactions upon the glandular forces of the body. Not as in excess of the iodine reaction but sufficient to produce - by the stimulations created through the ganglia of the body - the CLEANSING impulse throughout the glandular forces of the system.

14. Then we would be precautious that the body keeps the diets well balanced as to an alkalinity; about an eighty percent alkalin to twenty percent of acid reaction in the diets. For there are those that appear as acid; as citrus fruits, or combinations of starches and sweets, that within THEMSELVES may appear to be acid or alkalin; yet their reaction in certain combinations in the system becomes almost the opposite - if combined with other food values. So, when these are taken, let them be as a diet - rather than combining same with others; that is, citrus fruits or pastries or starches and sweets. These may be a portion, but the sweets should be preferably from honey rather than from cane sugar.

15. Keep in the open, keep the body mentally and physically active; and we should have a ready response - and a helpful

1171-1 Page 3

period; though we may find some little recurrence, if these are persisted in we may gradually eliminate same. Possibly after two or three months it will be necessary to repeat even the whole process; the electrical appliance as well as the manipulative forces, but these taken only for periods to make correctly the adjustments and reactions in the system, we should find a greatly improved body.

16. Ready for questions.

17. Do these and we will bring the better conditions. LOW form, not the high frequency of the diathermy; and a period of about thirty-five minutes should be sufficient. HEAT the body rather than creating high vibrations. Let these be gradual reactions through the system so that stimulations may be nominal.

18. We are through for the present. Copy to Mrs. [...] - Sister " " Ass'n file (See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to Electrotherapist. See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to Osteopath. Atomidine is manufactured by The Atomidine Co., 64 E. Sydney Ave., Mt. Vernon, N.Y., but may be obtained at most any drug store. See Alkalin-Reacting Diet List [which was enclosed]. The treatments should be followed in the ORDER given, and AS given.)
