Time of Reading 11:25 to 11:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1178].

2. As we find, there are disturbances and these prevent the normal activity through the physical forces of the body. These as we find are rather a combination of disturbances, affecting the circulation through the head, the head and neck as well as through the eliminations and are basically from the liver and its associated activity as an excretory and secretive functioning of the body.

3. These then are disturbances as we find them with this body, [1178] we are speaking of:

4. The indications through the circulation are that there is the torpidity of the liver in its coordination with the rest of the body in its eliminating of poisons from the system. Also there are contributory causes from congestions in the soft tissue of the head (or face) that at times give a great deal of disturbance, as well as those tendencies for the accumulations along glands and ducts where a plethora condition exists, in the form of small tumors. However, these as tumors are of the lymph nature, and at times are much better than at others; though their nature during periods is such that they cause during periods a great deal of distress and make it very uncomfortable for the body when walking or standing a great deal on the feet. Thus there is caused a tendency for swelling in the ankles, the feet hurting; and the whole of the lower limbs and across the lower portion of the abdomen, as well as across the lumbar and lower dorsal area, give distress. There are disturbances with the digestive forces through the lack of proper assimilations or the supplying of gastric forces from the system for proper digestion.

5. Hence there are periods when the body has dyspepsia, or belching; headaches ensue, and it becomes necessary for the eliminations to be exercised by exciting, as it were, the lymph flow through the alimentary canal. All of these are

1178-1 Page 2

contributory causes as well as the effects of a specific disturbance in the gall duct area or in the liver, pancreas and the activity through the entrance of food forces as assimilated to the eliminating channels.

6. IN THE NERVE FORCES OF THE BODY, these, to be sure, produce physical reactions by the attempts of the system to create a balance; not only from the determinations of the body itself but from specific centers along the cerebrospinal system that are under stress. This may be seen throughout almost the entire cervical system, in the 9th dorsal and more specifically in the lumbar axis and the coccyx area. Pressures exist there from those attempts of the body to coordinate and thus producing a form of lesion in most of the centers along the system as indicated, or where indicated.

7. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, those conditions in the sensory forces, as in the auditory forces or the hearing, we find are hindered. From those conditions in the nasal passages, the lymph flow there, the hindering of circulation from the cervical area has allowed there to become those conditions where there is a prolapsus of the Eustachian tubes themselves. This is greater in the one side than in the other, though both are affected. This tends to make the body OPEN the mouth, in its attempt or strain to hear. Yet this very activity has produced and does produce a fullness in the throat, especially just below the passages from the nasal passage to the throat itself. Hence a burning and a fullness and a tendency to clear the throat, all recur from these disturbances. While these as we find will need specific application for their more perfect adjustment, the general health of the body, the general relief of those disturbances in the eliminating forces of the body and the completing of a better circulation will materially aid also. And these then should all be cared for through the same channels or same measures that may create the perfect accord throughout the whole of the circulatory forces and through the activities of the body. For if the applications are for only the specific conditions, we find that the causes would scarcely be corrected and there would only be temporary relief; while if the other or full applications are made we may make for not only a permanent relief but a better coordination throughout the whole of the body-forces themselves.

8. The nasal passages and the antrums, the conditions even back of the ear, all of these show for a fullness or a tendency for a slowed circulation. This impairment comes from a general depleted circulation from the source of

1178-1 Page 3

supply as indicated, as well as from irritation in specific centers from which such portions of the body receive their impulses.

9. Lungs, bronchi and larynx all show these strains; as do the activities even through the heart's force itself, though organically not so much disturbed as in those manners from functional or sympathetic conditions.

10. Digestive forces as indicated are sympathetically disturbed, as are the eliminations; the disturbances physically in the organs themselves of the liver being a greater basis of the disturbances.

11. As we would find then in making for better conditions for this body, [1178]:

12. We would first begin with specific adjustments, osteopathically given, in the cervical, the upper dorsal and the lumbar AND the coccyx area. Six such general treatments taken. These three each week, you see, until six are taken. Then leave same off for a period of a week.

13. Then begin with medicated forces as will apply more specifically to the conditions through the digestive forces. Begin not during the period when the treatments are taken, but during the week of the rest period from same, you see, with taking a quarter teaspoonful of Alcaroid AFTER the EVENING meal. Take this for a period of five days.

14. Then in the morning (following the five days of taking the Alcaroid as indicated), take two Zilatone Tablets - before any meal is taken. That same evening before retiring (and preferably arrange it so the body may rest the next day), take two more Zilatone Tablets.

15. The next morning before arising, take a tablespoonful and a half of Fleet's Phospho-Soda in a glass of water as hot as the body can drink. Lie on the right side, preferably with a pillow or support under the liver area. Keep quiet until there has been the full activity from the liver and the draining of the gall duct area. Lie in bed during most of the day.

16. The next day the body may be a little quiet; that is, its activities should not be those heavily straining in mental or physical ways.

17. When the week is up, then begin with the first osteopathic adjustments in the head and the neck - and the taking of the first finger surgery treatments to remove the lesions along the Eustachian tubes. Take then a treatment once a week for six weeks, osteopathically. Then there should be a period of the second finger surgery or the breaking up of these. Then have a rest period of four to six weeks.

18. And then begin with the treatments osteopathically of a general nature until there is almost the restoring at least sixty percent of the hearing, and the eliminations are increased such that the activities of the body may be very close to normal.

19. To be sure, facial treatments and massage would be given during the period.

20. We will find most beneficial also an antiseptic as an inhalant which would be prepared in this manner:

21. To 4 ounces of Pure Grain Alcohol in a 6 ounce container, preferably with a glass cork, add - in the order named: Oil of Eucalyptus..................20 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp...............5 minims, Tincture of Benzoin, Compound......15 minims, Oil of Pine Needles.................5 minims, Benzosol dissolved in alcohol, a saturated solution............10 minims, Tolu in solution...................30 minims.

22. Keep this corked except when inhaled through the nostril and into the throat. Whenever there's a fullness or tendency for sneezing or for cold or irritation, shake together, then inhale into the nasal passages and through the throat, two to three times. This may be done two, three, four times a day. This, of course, may be begun at once, but these are only as helpful things with the other treatments coming in the order as we have indicated.

23. Do these and, as we find, after the second of the finger surgery treatments and the completion of the manipulative forces, the body should be near to normal.

24. In the diet, keep to more of an alkalin-reacting diet. Not great quantities ever of condiments, as highly seasoned foods, great amount of spices or a great amount of starch WITH pastries, pies or the like. Ice cream or ices may be taken. The sweets taken should be at the time meats are eaten, rather [than] at the time when breads are taken. Beware of potatoes in any form, unless they are roasted or baked with the jackets on and more of the jackets are eaten than of the core or the center of same.

25. Ready for questions.
