Time of Reading ... School, 12:15 to 12:35 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1179]; this we have had before.
2. As we find, there are improvements in many ways through the general conditions of the body. While still there are not the full coordinations as related to the body-building, in relation to the blood flow - or the inclinations still exist towards anemia, we find these show a much bettered condition in the manner in which there is the flow of the lymph with its activity in the blood's reaction - or the better superficial reaction.
3. This has relieved, somewhat, those inclinations for quick irritations, quick reaction. While such reactions come at times, there is a near normal reaction in these directions.
4. As we would find then in the present, and especially through those periods when there is the less sunshine, there should be the use of the ultra-violet ray - the mercury lights - of course, not close to the body - forty-eight to fifty-three inches. As to how often, this would depend upon the activities outside. Especially when there are periods of little sunshine, the body should rest IN these rays for the activity of the actinic light upon this very plasm. The period of treatment would be from three to twenty minutes, depending - to be sure - upon the activities of the body under the rays, see? When there are the periods of less sunshine, there should be more of the ultra-violet rays.
5. We would occasionally keep the general manipulations osteopathically given; not so much a series as the responding to the inclinations of the body; with special reference to these centers: the lumbar axis as related to the distribution of energies from same through the lower portion of the body, and especially the feet as related to this. Then the 9th dorsal plexus as related to the activities of the upper hepatic circulation and the activities of digestion. Then the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal
1179-4 Page 2
as related to the cardiac's reaction. Then THROUGHOUT the area of the vagus centers, the first cervicals; then, to be sure, those about the face, the head; those to the activities of the balancing through the auditory and through the vision, and through those centers that relate to the nasal passages, the antrum, the soft tissue in the lower jaw as well as the upper.
6. Also we would keep the activities as related to body-building forces, as may be had with those Oils that produce the better vitamin reactions in the system; the Halibut rather than the Cod Liver for this body. OR there may be taken instead at times those properties carried in the very sea foods themselves, if used often during such periods; especially sword fish, codfish, mackerel and the like. These, of course, are not to be all the diet, but these often included in the diet will be effective for this particular body.
7. The exercises and activities of the body should be kept near to normal. Do not overstrain the body - that is, in any exercise as of the dance or the exercises as combined with same. Not that the body should become dilatory, but do not OVERSTIMULATE the activities through the periods the body is passing in the present.
8. Ready for questions.
9. (Q) In what form should she take the Halibut Oil? What dosage and how often? (A) This as we find comes ready prepared in pellets, or the like; and these would be taken after the milk - one pellet mornings and evenings.
10. (Q) Should she also take A, B, D, G capsules by Parke, Davis? (A) This depends upon whether or not the Halibut Oils or the diets as indicated are a part of the regular diet. If those properties are supplied through that particular class or character of seafood mentioned, then the other vitamins are NOT near so necessary. But if it is preferable to make changes in the diet, use then the others as prepared by Parke, Davis.
11. (Q) Would it be well for [1179] to go into the Saturday morning class exercise with Bluestone in N.Y.? (A) This would be very well, if there is not the OVERSTRAINING of the body in same.
12. (Q) Would it be better for her to have private work with Bluestone? (A) In the class will be more effective for the body.
13. (Q) Should she have Swedish massage? (A) The massage for this body, as for most bodies, is most beneficial. Let this be for stimulation to the superficial
1179-4 Page 3
circulation, and as we find that as indicated would be very well (Swedish) - once or twice a week; or, preferably as we find, about twice in three weeks, or about ten days apart, see? and then these kept ESPECIALLY through the period of the winter or cold season, rather than in the spring or summer.
14. (Q) How can [1179] get rid of her warts? (A) Apply a paste of baking soda with Castor Oil. Mix together and apply of evenings. Just the proportions so it makes almost a GUM; not as dough but more as gum, see? A pinch between the fingers with three to four drops in the palm of the hand, and this worked together and then placed on - bound on. It may make for irritation after the second or third application, but leave it off for one evening and then apply the next - and it will be disappearing! [See 1179-4 Reports.]
15. (Q) How can her appetite be improved? (A) Too oft we find there is anxiety about appetites for growing individuals especially, as may be about this body - as the body is rather "fussy," as it would be called, about what it eats. As we find, where there is being supplied the necessary vitamins by properties given in the system, this then cuts off the desire for the supply to the body, see? Hence as has been indicated, we would use certain characters of foods - especially in seafoods of the natures indicated - to supply the elements in such manners that they are assimilated and thus make for the increasing of the appetite, or the desire for the supply of elements that would make for body-building. These are the manners in which the supply for the body may be aided. Too oft we find that where properties are supplied in the concentrated vitamin contents they take the place of foods; hence the appetites apparently are NOT active, when the real reaction is in the CANNED or pill activity and not from BODY reactions, see?
16. (Q) Should [1179] take Ventriculin with Iron? (A) As we find for the body with these forces and influences as have been indicated for the body, and if these are kept in the manners given, one dose of the Ventriculin with Iron in a week, one dose in ten days or such matter would be sufficient - through the periods of the cold weather. For this supplies that which does NOT take away appetite, but that which should require the supplying for
1179-4 Page 4
the building properties in the system. The quantity taken at a time would be not too high; a teaspoonful not heaping but rounded.
17. (Q) Should she take Squibb's Di-calcium Phosphate with viosterol? (A) When there are indications of cold or congestion, but otherwise not too often.
18. (Q) Abbot's Dulcet Bar Di-calcium Phosphate, plain? (A) No.
19. (Q) Squibb's Yeast tablets? (A) These are very well when there are the disturbances through eliminations. These carry foods into the system that make for activities in the intestinal forces of the system, which is very good. But these activities SHOULD be builded in the body! These tablets, though, we would use occasionally; or sufficiently often to keep the bodily forces in the proper eliminations through the alimentary system.
20. (Q) The Radio-Active Appliance? (A) This is a balancing force for a growing body especially, and hence would be very good. It is best used, as we have so oft indicated, in series; that is, when the body is TIRED take it at any time, but series of treatments or applications for thirty to forty to fifty minutes when taken; taking each day for a series of two to three weeks, leave off a week to ten days. If taken three weeks, leave off two weeks. If taken two weeks, leave off for ten days. Then repeat again. But keep the attachments circulating about the body. The variations in such attachments are as this: To each application we find there is the circulation through the system of impulses or vibratory forces of the body, that move - as might be roughly described - as the figure eight. Now: The first extremity to which the application is made becomes the positive pole, by the very setting up of the vibratory forces that produce in the Appliance what may be called the magnet that builds up by the very nature of the building of the forces in the Appliance itself. So the discharge then (that builded up) is constantly to the opposite extremity to which the Appliance is attached, see? So this is to keep a balance, then. Not that the extremities are to receive the most, for this would become really irritating. For there's no such thing that if an application can't help, it can't hurt! Because if it is helpful, mis-applied it must be harmful - this is natural! So this Appliance if attached properly makes easy rest, makes for the replenishing of the activities of the system
1179-4 Page 5
in their proper relationships one to another.
