Time of Reading Rio Arriba County, 2:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New Mexico.
1. GC: You will have before you a tract of U.S. Government land, in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, known as Section 33, Township 7, North Range 30 West. You will tell us if the location for oil 290 feet North East of the South West corner, where an iron survey stake is down, is the right location for oil. Also give any information possible regarding oil in the territory and locate any large deposits of oil in the surrounding country. You will answer any questions which I will ask you regarding this.
2. EC: Yes, we have the locations as are made here. We will find there will be found small deposits of high grade oil, and this will be found near the seven hundred and ninety (790) level, between seven sixty and ninety (760 & 790), see?
3. The water just below this level will cause trouble, unless handled properly, see? The encountered conditions drilling at this location would be as these:
4. The only trouble to be found is the sudden changes in the formations of very soft and very hard stratum. This will necessitate not rushing too speedily on the very hard formations, see? Two stratums of water, the surface and the lower stratum, may be encountered.
5. In the adjoining country, in the section lower than this and near the plateau, there would be found the larger production of oils. Also in this territory there will be found two stratas, one in the seven sixty-seven (767), another in the eighteen hundred (1800) feet level, varying in accordance to the locations, see? In this we would find that sufficient to justify the extension of pipe lines in this territory. While this in Section 33, Township 7, North West Range 30, will be of high gravity, that in the South and West from this (two to three and one half miles, see?), for this lies almost in the crescent shape, see?
6. (Q) Any other information regarding the oil in this territory? (A) In the smaller production we will find from three to fifteen (3 to 15) barrels. In the other we would find from thirty (30) in the upper - thirty to ninety (30 to 90), in

the lower from fifteen hundred to five thousand (1500 to 5000) per day, see?
7. We are through for the present.
