Time of Reading 11:20 (?) A. M. ..., Ky.
1. FEM: Now, Mr. Cayce, [EC had just given reading, 40-1] we want you to give us a reading on Mrs. [1181], ..., Kentucky. Now, Mr. Cayce, tell me the physical and mental ailments that you find within that body.
2. EC: Mrs. [1181]. Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see. The physical forces within this body are somewhat better than when we had them last, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.
3. Yet the condition throughout the whole body is anything but that, while with the physical forces in the body the circulation has become so impaired that the rebuilding forces as should be given to the system do not reach their proper functioning force within the body. The blood is anemitized for the lack of nutriment and rebuilding force. The hemoglobin is lacking in its ability to eliminate the forces that poison the system through the oxygen as taken in the body, you see? FEM: Yes, sir.
4. The nerve forces are lax in their action over the system. The circulation as governed by the nerve forces close or come too much within the heart force itself, for the condition that has been produced by the stimulation of heart forces has caused an engorgement of the heart itself and its function has become below the normal action within the body itself. See? FEM: Yes, sir.
5. Yet the condition that is producing the force within the body does not lie within the heart force itself, but through the action of the spleen and the action of the pancrean forces and duodenum. See? FEM: Yes, sir.
6. So to stimulate and to give the proper incentives to this

and to retain the forces lying or joining the physical and the spiritual and soul forces in this body, we would add this for this body at the present: Keep those manipulations [GD's note: She was under the care of Martha D. Beard, D.O.] that keep the circulation going in the extremities, for the slowness of the circulation to get away from the heart must be encouraged or carried on by the rubbing and the heat as we would apply to this, or else we will find the coagulating forces in the hepatics and the heart force itself and the heart would be smothered by its own blood force. See? FEM: Yes, sir.
7. As foods into the system, we would keep those within the lung that will produce a steam so that it may be breathed into the nostrils to clarify as much the condition that exists in the lung and give new vitality to the blood force as it courses in this soul here, as it is doing at present, through the pulmonaries and give new life. See? FEM: Yes, sir.
8. Keep much steam, that carries with it, heroin, fifteen drops in a gallon or a gallon and a half of water, that is kept boiling, you see, in the room here. FEM: Yes, sir.
9. So that the steam may be inhaled in the lungs itself, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.
10. We would not stimulate the heart forces by giving narcotics to stimulate its action. We would rather take those into the system and get the action direct to the pneumogastric nerve forces. Let the food that will be taken be that as of spiritus frumenti that has been burned; that is, the alcohol burned out, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.
11. So that we retain only the vital force as is given by the grain from which it is made; with those properties that we would find in arrowroot and junket. See? FEM: Yes, sir.
12. Keep up the manipulations to the extremities and keep the heat portions to the body. When it has regained sufficient strength, then we would give other properties into the system to change the vital forces within the body itself, through the stomach and intestinal tract. After

three days, provided these forces can be kept from the heart, as we have or else it will disintegrate in its force, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.
13. We would give this into the system as a stimulus through medicinal forces: Senna, one grain, in a half a glass of yellow saffron tea that is made rather strong. See? FEM: Yes, sir.
14. Use as a poultice or as a counter-irritant to the exterior forces of the body across the abdomen and across the spleen force, or the lower end of the stomach here, those poultices as made of what is commonly known as mullein leaves. See? FEM: Yes, sir.
15. Do this. We will bring relief to this body here, [1181]. We are through.
16. FEM: Now, Mr. Cayce, you will forget all about these readings [GD's note: EC had also given 40-1 just prior to 1181-3.] that you have given. You are feeling all right, and all of the organs of your body will function properly. Now, wake up in two minutes just feeling fine and all right.
