Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

2. As we find, the acute conditions show some improvements; while, as may be said, the body is not "out of the woods" yet. For there is still danger of either MORE cold and its settling deeper or producing more inflammation, or of becoming a constitutional condition through the soft tissue of throat AND the nasal passages.

3. Yet the lungs have clarified a great deal; and the temperature is not so severe.

4. Do not OVERDO the applications, or produce such in drafts that would cause the body to take cold.

5. Be sure that the inhalings are kept up when the body chokes up spasmodically. This would be best done, then, under a sheet or the like.

6. Be sure that the feet are rubbed with the Mutton Suet, Turpentine and Camphor. This would be done at least twice during the evening or night; this being preferable to attempting to do it when the body is moving about so much.

7. Keep the eliminations open.

8. Use the Castoria with a little Syrup of Figs if it is necessary.

9. Well that at least three to five drops of the Glyco-Thymoline be given during a day. It may be two doses or in one; preferably two, that there be no condition in the colon from the natural flow of phlegm through the alimentary canal.

10. Of course, keep the chest and throat cleansed.

11. The Vicks is very well, but is rather severe WITH the other properties. But if it is necessary to rub the head and the face with same, very good - but WEAKEN it with a little Vaseline.

12. Do this, keeping the diet.

13. Keep the body not so much OUT of air but NOT in drafts!

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) As we were unable to get the Oil of Turp, may

anything be substituted? (A) The Oil of Turpentine will be alright; though it is not so good as the Turp.

16. (Q) Should the cough syrup be continued, as prescribed by Dr. Taylor? (A) As has been indicated, do not OVERDO it. This is very well. Then, make the Syrup of Squill FARTHER apart. The cough syrup carries a sedative that, to be sure, tends to make for opening the respiratory system, but if draft is on the body after taking same it is not so good. Take it, though, if necessary. But, as we have indicated, the inhalations when there is the choking are the most effective.

17. (Q) Should the Ipecac be given? (A) Not unless there is the choking or the danger of the diphtheria.

18. (Q) One dose, or three as Dr. Taylor indicated? (A) DO NOT GIVE SAME UNLESS THE OTHER CONDITIONS ARISE! We are overdoing it! If you get the stomach upset, then you'll have the cold or the flu through the intestinal system and have COLITIS - and that's worse than all!

19. (Q) Should the window in his bedroom be opened? (A) Just so there is no draft, alright.
