This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of June, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - Dr. [1210], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. and Mrs. David E. Kahn, Mrs. Hulda Steeves, and Members of the Association present at this Congress Meeting.

R E A D I N G

Born November 4, 1881, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Time of Reading 11:40 to 12:40 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. ..., Mass. (Life Reading Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1210], and those relationships with the universal forces - that are latent and manifested in the personalities of this entity.

2. Here, as we find, there is a variation in the influences that are related to the present experience, from that which would ordinarily be termed from the viewing of same astrologically.

3. Hence we would find from the charts of an astrological reading, or astrological interpretation, very little has created or does create in the present experience an influence - save mentally - upon the activities of the entity towards making for soul development. Yet we would find at times, and times only, the influences from the astrological aspects that would be said to be as a straightening or karmic force act only in a secondary manner.

4. For to the entity also we would give, KNOW that WILL supersedes those influences that may express themselves even as material desires; and certainly supersedes those influences that may be had from sojourns in the earth. For it is true that that influence, that force which is of the Creative Force, hath not willed that a soul should become so overburdened, so discouraged, so disheartened as not to be given hope for its regeneration, but hath prepared the means, the ways of escape. Not from self but in the AID in

self, manifested in WILL. For he that wills to do sets in motion those influences that have in the experience of the entity in the present sojourn brought about activity from the various realms of development. Not a wise choice always taken by the entity in the present, but KNOW that thou hast in thine inner self in thine temple, in thine tabernacle within, the advocate with that Creative Force that may give those influences. For he that maketh the will one WITH those Creative Forces or constructive influences may build and BUILD and BUILD!

5. In the natural astrological aspects those influences are indicated, from the interpretations as we have here, that have made for what may be termed by many (who think themselves wise) the inclinations for the entity to be, in a manner, a piddler into many forces. For as the urges have arisen, as the convictions from those influences that have been allowed to come - not between, but as evidence upon evidence, those forces that have brought about turning this way, that way; not losing the hold nor losing sight of the goal, but many devious ways and routes have been taken.

6. These arise from an astrological sojourn; not because Jupiter or Uranus or Mercury or Mars was in this or that position. They were IN this or that position because OF the entity's SOJOURN in that environment which has been termed in the astrological aspects as having an influence upon human - or mental in human - experience. Mind is not (Now, this would tend to go about it in another direction - but mind is not) peculiar to man alone, and don't lose that idea!

7. In the aspects from these, we find that the entity from the Uranian influence becomes an extremist; the entity does not go at a thing, condition or experience halfheartedly. But cause [because?] of the MANY influences, others (not in self) have called the entity one unstable - or piddling.

8. We find that these influences make for an interest in those things psychological, occult, mystic. And the tendency is for these to become as a motivative influence.

9. But as has been indicated, the astrological aspects alone have NOT influenced in the present experience of the entity the urges or the activities to the extent that they have predominated the will, the conviction from other forces in THEIR realms of experience, development, seeking also.

10. Much has been gained, as may be seen by the entity, in this experience that has made for SOUL development in ways and manners - in these periods when reckonings are coming to so many influences, so many movements of import, so many activities from even the hierarchy of the realms of mental

forces in spiritual activity in the mental attributes of the SEEKER - that the entity needs to take, first, counsel with self from that of the promise which has been and is the heritage of every soul that has found expression or manifestation into materiality. Turn within and know thy redeemer liveth IN THEE! And through those promptings rather of thy influence upon the forces of the natural relationships in the spiritual forces, ye may KNOW - rather than harkening to him along the way. For, "If ye will be my son, I will be your God," is as applicable in the experience of each soul that seeks as it was to him that gave the law from the mount, or to him 'that was not, for he walked with Him.'

11. In this counsel then, know there is much work to be done in correlating, coordinating the activities between those that are seeking and through WHAT CHANNEL THEY SEEK! This is thy labor of love, this is thy labor of thine OWN redemption in this experience.

12. From the Jupiterian and Mercurian with the Uranian forces we have confusions oft. Not that these are in themselves confusing, but oft - as man may find in the experience of the material body - it is not WHAT is taken but the combinations that in their activity produce confusion.

13. Those forces that make for the activative experience, then, arise from influences that have been indicated. These are then to become not the guide, not the director, not the dictator, but rather as signs along the way of experience that make for the entity's understanding and comprehending the problems that others meet in their experience, and knowing the right, knowing it is choice, knowing it is will; and BEING in that accord with not only the promise but the fulfilling of same in that tabernacle, in that covenant within self, meeting Him THERE - NOT without! for THERE is where confusion comes.

14. As to the experiences of this entity in the earth, we find there have been many, and under quite a diversified, quite a changeable environment. Hence that manner of seeking those influences from within and from without has made for that which finds itself manifesting in the emotions. For remember, while the astrological influences or those influences from the sojourns during the interims between the earthly sojourns are innate and find greater expressions from spiritual influences, the earthly or material sojourns so act upon the emotions or the senses of the body. Hence there may come at times these emotions that in the experience of some so outrun their own practical

application, or the practicality in the experiences of some, that confusions or questionings arise.

15. With this entity these experiences have arisen; they come as conditions or periods when there are changes in the social, changes in the economic, changes in the scientific, changes in the psychological experiences or relationships. They have arisen from those periods when there may be said to have been a conjunction or a crosswise experience of that innate and inborn from the experiences in the astrological, or in the universal and those that become of an earthly or emotional nature, or set in a oneness of a personal ego. Don't confuse these, for words oft make confusion, but the variations as may be interpreted by the entity are between the emotions that arise from the senses of a body and those that arise from the innate or spiritual experiences of the SOUL and not the body!

16. Then, these are not all the appearances, for some the entity (praise the living forces!) has outgrown, some the entity is to meet, some become more and more as the passing experiences that mean little in the activities in the present sojourn.

17. Before this, then, we find an experience that will make for an activity throughout the sojourn of the entity in the earth in the present.

18. For the entity lived during those days when there were the turmoils in that period known as the American Revolution.

19. The entity then was in the capacity of one that looked after the health as related to cleanliness about the encampments, one McQuade or Quaer [?] (Herman), in and about that land now known as Jersey, York, the eastern portions of Pennsylvania, those portions about the Brandywine where the entity acted not only in the capacities for the helpfulness to those in command but also in encouraging those for a purposefulness that was for freedom of body, freedom of speech, freedom from those influences that made for oppressive forces.

20. Hence in the experience of the entity in the present there has ever been the urge - which has been as a key to the whole of the entity's experience - to remain free from any ism, cism, sect or influence that makes for BINDING the entity in a direction of activity to FREE SOULS from fear!! For fear is - as it ever has been - that influence that opposes will, and yet fear is only of the moment while will is of eternity. Hence fear takes hold upon the emotions, while will is deeper-seated into the soul, into the warp and woof of the very being of an ENTITY in its entirety; finding

expression to be sure in the lowest of the emotions, yet is prompted by the creative force itself.

21. Hold fast to that as thou didst experience as a development in those experiences where not only physical aid, not only economic independence in relationships to experiences was brought, but the activities were such that made for FREEDOM - FREEDOM - of mind, of soul, to seek, to know, to experience its relationships to its Creator, its mate, its part of itself. For the Creative Forces are more even than companionship; for the heritage of each soul is to know itself to be itself yet one with that Creative Force.

22. Before that (among those that influence the entity in the present) we find the entity was in the land now known as the Roman, and a portion of the entity's experience was expended in the Grecian as well as the Roman. For as there came more and more of the hearsays of that influence that had made for an impressionable activity upon the people from the Judean ministry of that man called Jesus, the entity sought to know from whence the influence, whence the power came, and how it might be made a practical experience in the activities of individuals.

23. Hence it became as it were again to the entity 'hide and seek,' or once upon the track, again off, once understood, again losing sight. For the entity attempted to turn even as a correlator or worker with the entity, one Simon.

24. The entity then, in the name Juohean, gained and lost. For that which is of a Creative Force, whether magnified in the activity of an individual or in the expressions that are given as emotions for the glorification of the relationship, is the RESULT and not a cause - or an effect. It is the RESULT of the relationship of the soul with Creative Forces and not to be used, not to be indulged, not to be classified or made to become as those forces that will supply only conveniences or ease from cares or duties or obligations!

25. For the earth IS the Lord's and the fullness thereof, and they that partake of its glories for their own self gratification become liars and thieves and murderers in purpose. But to use same for the glorification of the Creator is the purpose.

26. These the entity used, mis-used; yet those things are being met in thine experience. But HOLD FAST to that thou knowest in thine inner self; FREEDOM from those things that maketh afraid!

27. Before that (that becomes a portion of the entity in the present) we find the entity was among those peoples that were WITH Hezekiah when they [the people] were carried into captivity in the land of the Persians and the Medes. [II

28. The entity then was a priest, not of the first altars nor of those that offered sacrifice; rather in that that would be termed in the present as one to whom confessions were made, to whom counsel was sought as a judge advocate or the priest to whom those of the common peoples went for the advice, not only upon the law but as to their relationships one to another.

29. Then in the name Iruidel, as the name indicates, the entity held those people together even in the land of persecution and that as sown into the minds and souls of those to whom those people came as salvages or as those in bondage made for same being later or in the after years planted and replanted, as it were, in the hearts of those who purposed in the heart of the king that there should be a release.

30. Hence in those experiences of the entity were there the overcomings of those forces that tended to make for one becoming or being a follower alone, but as is purposed from the Creative Forces themselves - that each soul shall hold to that which makes it (that soul) as ONE with God, and a god itself.

31. Hence that independence sown and reaped and gained there, in the experience. And with same came in those expressions in the present for the interpretation of the findings of others in many lands, that made for that termed in this day as a research for the basic forces of activities that have prompted peoples of nations, kingdoms, for not only their religious thought but their separations for purposes in their experience.

32. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land, the Indian land, the lands from which most of those came for one of the branches of the first appearances of the Adamic influence that came as five at once into the expressions in the earth, or the expression in that now known as the Gobi land.

33. The entity then was among those who assisted in bringing an interpretation to the peoples in the Indian land now called, and the Egyptian land, when there were the undertakings for a correlating again of the troublesome forces that had separated, had caused those periods of destructive forces in the activities of man his brother's keeper, man as expressing himself in flesh in the earth.

34. The activities of the entity then brought about the correlating of Saneid, Og, Ra-Ta, Zu and those of the Pyrenees as well as the Nordic from the upper portions of what is now Norway (though quite a different looking

Norway!).

35. In that experience the entity made for advancement. For not differences were sought but rather a unification of that which was for the moral, the mental, the material uplift of those that united not by body but in oneness of purpose for the protection against those forces and influences that man had projected himself into that had become as monstrosities in the earth, and those periods when there were sought from the Atlantean experience for the destructive forces for the creatures that overran the land.

36. The entity aided in bringing about the counsel of the five nations, or the five centers in the experience, and thus brought to man in those experiences that which must be as it were in its own day, in its own age, repeated in the experiences in the present. Not the differences then but the onenesses with the knowledge, not without but from within, is the real source. That without as the sign, as the guide, so long as it is along the way - but ONLY the way. The activities, the experiences must be with that force as from within the inner self.

37. Then the entity was in the name Iuden.

38. And in this experience may the entity aid in bringing to light activities in those that now are a desert land, so that even as the sun of the present experience makes its entrance into those periods of the wane of this day of experience, the entity may enjoy the knowledge again that man is set not as AT the differences but as the purposes for becoming more aware of the BASIC forces of his relationships to the Creative Forces.

39. In the present then, and that to which it may attain, and how:

40. Clear thyself of confusion. Know it is within thee. Failure or success, right and wrong, good and evil; yet He meeteth thee in thine own tabernacle, in thine own holy of holies. Thou art indeed the high priest; there meet thy God, then, in thine own tabernacle.

41. Then as ye are shown the way, as ye are shown the how, give of thyself in aiding thy fellow man to interpret his OWN misunderstandings, his own shortcomings, and thus not in glory for self but that self may indeed occupy that place, that experience in thy relationships to thy Creator.

42. Ready for questions.

43. (Q) Into what specific fields of activity should I now direct my efforts? (a) As there are the beginnings of those of science, of philosophy, to seek for the knowledge of the true relationships to the soul, then in those activities that may aid those seekers - whether they be the laymen or

whether they be the great or those that would be great but aren't. Aid them in their seeking; remaining free in self as in the advice to those, not becoming hidebound or so set in a line that the knowledge of those things that are making for fear in the experiences of those about you is lost sight of. In such a field may the greatest help, the greatest blessings to self and the greater help to others come.

44. (Q) Should I go back to medical practice? (A) Not as to medicine alone. For again would you take upon the whole of thy experience that which would make thee condemn thyself day by day? The EARTH is the Lord's. Be not afraid. If you would create that in the minds of others, then don't act like it yourself! Be FREE!

45. (Q) Shall I follow out the suggestions I had just prior to this trip, regarding broadcasting in Springfield? (A) This is very good, provided there will be more and more of the connections that are made with those that are of the seekers for truth.
