Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1223].
2. Now, as we find, there are conditions that disturb and prevent the better normal functioning of the body.
3. These as we find affect organs in their functioning and produce a strain upon the nervous forces and system; thus creating an unbalanced condition in the physical forces.
4. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, Mrs. [1223] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. FIRST, IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find changes. At times there is sufficient of the balance between the white blood and the red blood, and at others we find either or both deficient. These make for an irregularity in the circulation. Hence we find a disturbance in the katabolism as well as in the metabolism of the body.
6. These are effects as we find of a strain upon a nervous system, and disturbance in the digestive system, and especially an upsetting in the assimilations.
7. Hence the digestion, in those activities of the stomach proper, the liver, the pancreas and the digestive forces all become as a part of the condition in the system.
8. These then make for those reactions as we shall find in the organs' functioning themselves.
9. IN THE NERVOUS FORCES OF THE BODY, here we find rather contributory causes in some portions of the system and causes produced in other portions of the body.
10. In the throat and the organs, or the glandular forces there, we find there has been a coagulation that has produced thickened tissue that, with the circulatory forces there, produces accumulations, fullness in the throat and the glandular forces as we find where operative forces apparently were. These make for a strain upon the nervous system, by not being absorbed and eliminated through their normal channels.
1223-1 Page 2
11. Again we find in the pelvic organs, and in those activities especially in the relationship of the structural portion of the pelvis itself, there has been produced an injury to the pelvic bone itself - through those activities that made for the normal eliminations in or at the end of pregnancy.
12. Here again we have causes produced in the nervous system. And their reaction at the periods and those conditions as related to the digestive system have produced that tendency for the contraction of the pyloric end of the stomach itself. Hence we have the tendency for the conditions that arise in the blood supply, as well as in the nervous system, that produce impoverishment by the lack of the proper assimilation of the food forces that are taken into the system itself.
13. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, brain forces are very good.
14. The nominal reaction from impulses is near to normal.
15. The activities as indicated in the throat, in the bronchi and larynx, from a fullness or accumulation by scar tissue not eliminated, not removed but coagulated in an abnormal manner, contribute to the nervous forces - as has been given.
16. The lung forces naturally, with impoverished conditions, at times make for - with this nervous condition in the upper portion of the throat - a fullness or a heaviness, and a shortness of breath by overactivity, feeling of hot and cold sensations at times from a nervous reaction to the body. All come from the respiratory reaction; though organically no disturbance there.
17. In the heart's activity as indicated the metabolism being disturbed makes for irregularity; but organically no disturbance.
18. In the digestive forces of the body, as indicated, those disturbances from the pelvis, those disturbances as related to the nervous forces of the body produce through the very activity of the nerves themselves a spasmodic reaction at times in the pylorus or the lower portion of the stomach itself. Thus food values oftentimes become non-active, and there is the lack of the flow of the gastric juices to carry on proper digestion. This reaches such stages at times as to produce an overalkalinity in one portion, an overacidity in another portion of same, by the non-movement of this lower portion of the stomach itself or pylorus; thus making for a burning, a laceration or a caking over the lower end of the stomach itself.
19. These are REFLEX conditions; these are not the causes
1223-1 Page 3
but are the effects of those pressures as exist in the lower portion of the lumbar and lower portion of the dorsal area as to the activity of the organs of assimilation.
20. Naturally these conditions produce distresses in the activity of the secretions of the liver, a disturbance in the pancrean reaction. Naturally the nervous reaction to the spleen becomes as fear, as gas, as the activity to produce a giving away to the feelings of the whole body itself.
21. In the lower portion of digestion, the condition in the stomach naturally brings about disturbances in portions of the body, lower part of the jejunum or the upper intestinal tract. Thus through the colon itself there is caused inflammation that tends to produce in the fecal forces a drying, or lack of the proper activity of the LYMPH flow through this portion of the digestion.
22. Hence we find those headaches as arise from these; this heaviness then increased through those inflammatory forces in the pelvic and pelvis organs themselves; thus making for a greater disturbance to the body itself.
23. Hence we find periods when the body for days will feel unable for activities, at others it will FEEL like activity and then as soon as it has begun the body gives way or "gives out," as it were, in its strength and its vitality. Thus impoverishment to blood supply, to organs, and to the activity of the whole system comes about in this body.
24. THEN, AS WE FIND, IN MEETING THE CONDITIONS THAT EXIST IN THE SYSTEM:
25. All of those disturbances are to be taken into consideration; not only the causes but the effects that have been produced, until the administrations have oft been given for the EFFECTS without considering the causes or the SOURCE of the disturbance for the body.
26. These we will find then will necessitate in the beginning the rather slow process, as it may be termed; or making for the proper corrections in the balance of the system so that as the activities of the organs are readjusted - not only from structural portions but in the circulatory force and in the eliminations of all natures - we may bring to the body the greater normal forces.
27. And these may be brought about, as we find, if there will be the proper precautions, if there will be consistencies in the applications. Because the body will feel better, then if it does those things that are inconsistent with the better forces we will find a reverting to disturbances. This then requires some patience and persistence in carrying on those things as we find that may
1223-1 Page 4
bring near to normal forces for this body.
28. First begin with the use of a low electrical vibratory force that will carry into the circulation a balancing of the elements and the influences upon the organs so that eliminations may be set up the better; also that which will make for a creating for an equilibrium to keep down those inflammations for the mucous membranes about the stomach and the digestive forces.
29. This as we find may best be added by the use of the static or galvanic electrical forces in that called the Wet Cell Appliance, but carrying into the system the vibratory forces form Atomidine (in its atomic force). The attachments would be made in this manner:
30. The small plate would be attached first, to the 4th lumbar plexus; while the larger plate through which the vibrations of the atomic forces of the Atomidine would pass would be attached last, to the umbilicus and lacteal duct area.
31. This application is to be taken every day for thirty minutes, for THIRTY DAYS.
32. Then we would begin with the applications that will make for changes in the activities through the system. So, after the thirty days of treatment with the Appliance, we would have about sixteen treatments osteopathically; that would correct the segments that show subluxations in the lower cervical, and in the lower lumbar area.
33. These taken, then we would give the further instructions; for then we should begin with those applications of oil, those applications of internal forces.
34. Do these first; then we will give further instructions.
35. In the diet, keep a balance in this manner - or this should be the greater portion of the outline of the diet for these periods throughout:
36. Mornings - alternate between fresh fruits with cereal, or citrus fruit or whole wheat - the wheat that is rolled, but cooked at least for an hour or hour and a half; and this means cooking COVERED, not in aluminum but rather in enamel or glassware. NOT in aluminum. For with this condition, aluminum becomes poisonous to the system. Do not use aluminum ware in ANY form where this body takes food from!
37. Noons - preferably ONLY RAW vegetables. Not too much but sufficient to dilate the stomach. Masticate these especially well.
38. Evenings - fowl or lamb for the meats. In the vegetables, use three above the ground to one below; two of the leafy to one of pod. In the drinks beware of those that have any form of alcohol in same, especially while the
1223-1 Page 5
activities of the Atomidine are active upon the glandular forces and the vibratory forces of the system are being changed.
39. Ready for questions.
40. (Q) How should the Appliance be applied, and how often? (A) Thirty minutes each day; the first small anode attached at the 4th lumbar, the larger through which the solution passes at the umbilicus and lacteal duct center - almost over the lower portion of the duodenum.
41. (Q) Should this be left off at the end of the thirty days? (A) As has been given. Use this for thirty days, then the osteopathic treatments for sixteen treatments. Then we would give further instructions. Those corrections osteopathically are to be to the lower cervical and the lumbar center.
42. (Q) How often should the osteopathic treatments be given? (A) These should be governed better by the reactions. Preferably two or three times a week, but fifteen to sixteen treatments. Then we would give further instructions.
43. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See letter [which was enclosed] with direction to H.H.R. Corp. for preparing type Appliance needed. See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to Osteopath [M. L. Richardson, D.O.].)
