Time of Reading 3:10 to 3:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1237].

2. Now, as we find, the conditions that have arisen are rather acute; yet from the manner of applications that have been made, they are becoming of a complication of disturbances. And the applications may become causes of disturbances unless changes or unless corrections are made, as we find.

3. We find that there have been some inclinations for the dilation of the ascending colon. And then the disturbances through the appendicial area. This is not so severe in the present. But with the applications of cold at the period, there has arisen a complication with the ovarian discharge. And we have a neuralgia of the organs of the pelvis as related to the complications of those tendencies for inflammation in the colon AND in the caecum or appendicial area especially.

4. As we would find in the present, these would be the manner of applications, rather than those that are being administered in the present:

5. First we would add together equal portions of Mutton Suet, Spirits of Turpentine, Spirits of Camphor and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Heat them. Put them all together. Apply this along the base of the spine, or across the sacral area, as HOT as the body can stand same.

6. We would apply across the caecum and lower portion of the abdomen a grape poultice; at least half an inch thick. Crush the grapes, put between cloths and apply. Let them become very warm, or the temperature of the body, before a change; keeping up the applications and the heat across the back, the lower portion of the abdomen, see?

7. And begin with high enemas. Not too much at once but the temperature of the body. And be sure that gradually there IS a traversing of the colon, emptying same. Use a saline and soda solution; a level teaspoonful of salt and a heaping

tablespoonful of soda to a gallon of water.

8. We would begin with the compound of the liquid for the activity through the alimentary canal; in the solution of ambrosia weed or ragweed, or Simmon's Liver Regulator (all the same - the liquid preferably). Begin with small doses; half a teaspoonful half an hour apart. Keep this up until four or five doses have been taken, and then take two teaspoonsful AT ONCE, see?

9. Take the enemas about every three to five hours apart UNTIL the pain has been relieved in the RIGHT side, or the colon is drained.

10. Keep the diet of a semi-liquid nature; those foods that are strengthening; as beef juice, blanc mange, junket and such are preferable. Malted milks rather than cow's milk. Strained oatmeal, orange juice - such as these for the next two to three days.

11. We should find by the morrow or the next day the relief.

12. If there is continued temperature, it'll be necessary for operative measures. But the INFLAMMATION has decreased. Unless congestions arise, these should soon be eliminated.

13. The massage of the head and the upper portion of the spine with pure GRAIN alcohol (not too much) will be helpful, keeping the body cool and making the body more restful.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) What is cause of suffering so severely with legs up to my knees? (A) The stopping of the circulation through the congestion in the area as indicated, as produced by the tendency for the neuritic reaction - or those conditions in the ovarian portions of the system.

16. (Q) How long should the grape poultice be kept up? (A) As just given, let each poultice remain until it has gotten warm - quite warm from the body heat - or more than temperature of the body. Then add a new one, or put a fresh one on. This should not be necessary more than forty-eight hours. They would be changed about every two or two and a half hours. Use fresh grapes, don't use those over again! Do these and, as we find, the greater and better conditions may come for this body, [1237].
