Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1278] this we have had before.
2. Now, as we find, there are many changes in the general physical forces of the body, and these - in the present at least - indicate greater resistance and greater abilities for the reactions to be the more helpful.
3. While there is much still to be desired in the gaining of the strength, in the gaining of this resistance necessary, as we find there needs primarily be the precautions only taken in the manner of the care of the body, in the manner of the diet, in the manner of the exercises.
4. While there is still a good deal of weakness shown in the inability of the lungs to recarbonize or to make for the proper oxygens for the whole of the blood supply, and the natural excess forces that arise from these very conditions producing weakness, we would find with those precautions and a rub occasionally with any good body ointment (as either cocoa butter or the compounds of the Mutton Suet, Spirits of Camphor, Spirits of Turpentine as a body antiseptic for forces as may be absorbed from these very lotions themselves), these will give strength. These to be sure should be over the lung area, over the spine, or rubbed on of evenings and a hot pad put over same to drive same in.
5. The keeping of enzymes as in body-building forces, as from either Liver Extracts or Codfish or Codfish Oil, or the Cod Liver Oil and the like, these will make for the building up of resistance.
6. As a tonic, as we find, those as may be had from a little Rock Candy with PURE Apple Brandy is strengthening, is that which will work with the digestive forces.
7. Keep the body warm and especially the feet warm and dry, as much in the open as possible when weather permits.
8. The ultra-violet light at times when there are the long, dark days; this sufficiently far away as to only give the effect and not a burn to the body, which will prove the more
1278-6 Page 2
helpful things for the body.
9. In the diet those that are easily assimilated.
10. Watch the eliminations, and do not allow for clogging throughout the alimentary canal.
11. These as we find are much better relieved, when disorder or disturbance comes, by the use of enemas than too much of the cathartics or laxatives; though necessarily there is the need for a stirring at times of the liver and the activity of same throughout. This may be had more by the rubbings and the massage than too much of that produced by cathartics or acids.
12. Keep more alkalin in the diets, and we should find the body continuing to be on the improve.
13. And let the mental attitude be ever in that of the more hopeful manner, for usefulness in its associations and activities with others.
14. Merely being good is never sufficient for any. Being good for something in the cheery atmosphere the body may create by its very optimism and its very cheery word of hope and faith and confidence in others. For if you would have it, you must give it and show it. And these we find would be helpful for the body to keep that natural tendency as it has had in these directions.
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) What can be done to stop coughing? (A) The tonic as indicated taken occasionally; especially with the rubs as given, would be most efficient in this direction, better than an expectorant. As has been indicated, the condition is lack of proper air covering for disturbed conditions as have existed in the lungs. Hence the absorption of properties as indicated as applied with heat and then the antiseptic as well as the helpful and stimulating influences of the Pure Apple Brandy and Rock Candy would be the most helpful. Little sips, not swallows, but little sips of same.
17. (Q) Should the rubs be applied to the back portion of lungs or front also? (A) Back portions and especially the front about the lower portion of the front of the lungs.
18. (Q) The heat should be applied to the back? (A) Heat applied to the back and to the front and the throat area. This in the front, though, would be most preferably with just hot flannels, while in the back area - over the lower and upper part - there may be applied an electric pad, very low.
19. (Q) Should milk be taken, and if so how much during a day? (A) This depends upon the manner in which the body may
1278-6 Page 3
assimilate it. As we find, the dry milks or condensed milks or the like are preferable to the animal or raw milk.
20. (Q) How much during the day should be taken? (A) This depends upon the manner in which the body assimilates it. Do not overcrowd the body. For if it is not able to assimilate it, owing to the disturbed circulation, it becomes a dross and a heaviness upon the eliminating system. And the sourness or those conditions produced by milk are just as poisonous as any other condition where assimilation does not take place. Depends upon how the body assimilates it. One day it may take two, three, four glasses. Possibly the next day one or two small portions. Be governed by the appetite, the exercise and the reactions.
21. (Q) Would it be advisable to go to Lakewood, N.J., to improve my condition? (A) This depends upon the environment and the surroundings there. If the cheery surroundings are able to be had that make for the frame of mind and the ability of the body to take care in those directions indicated, and yet be into the open much, this is very good.
22. (Q) Is red wine and brown bread recommended for this body? (A) This body, in the immediate, would respond better to the stimulation in Rock Candy and Pure Apple Brandy, as indicated. For these are effective upon the pulmonaries and the whole of the respiratory system; while the wine and the brown bread are more effective upon the digestive system. The red wine may be taken a very little, or occasionally. But as we find these would rather come later than in the immediate future.
23. (Q) What specific diet should be followed? (A) As indicated, keep an alkalin reacting diet. This does not mean that you have so much of a regular routine. Let it be rather as the commands or demands of the body. Whatever the body feels from day to day that it would like to have, better that these be prepared - provided they are kept in that balance as indicated. Those of easy assimilation yet carrying blood and nerve building in their natural courses or sources are the most helpful.
24. (Q) Would a change of climate be suggested? (A) This might be a little bit later, or when the weather is a little more rough or unsettled a warmer climate would be more stimulating to the body - to be sure - under the existent circumstances. But follow those suggestions as indicated. The rubs, the tonic, the properties in the Cod Liver Oil or the Halibut

Oil or those things that give co-resistances in the vitamins that such carry into the body. The diets in the form or manner that make for easy assimilation, keeping the system cleansed, not allowing the colon to become clogged because of the excess of toxic forces owing to the depleted circulation or the inability of the lung area to oxidize or carry sufficient oxygen. The use of the lamp on dark days, keeping in the open; and we will find that in a few weeks a great deal more strength and more resistance may be built up. And then if there is the desire to change for a warmer climate for three to four to five to six to seven weeks, very good. Do these for the present.
