1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1299], present in this room.
2. As we find, while conditions in many respects are very good when all of the activities and the surrounding influences are taken into consideration, there are tendencies and inclinations and some disturbances the correction of which in the present would not only make for a very much more normal body but prevent disturbances as may arise from continued tendencies and disorders in the body.
3. These as we find are in those natures of where organs have become rather slow or lax in their functioning. This has tended to make for a drag or drain upon the system, so that the vitality as related to some of the functionings has become subnormal; so that the circulation has become slow. And these as we find may be revitalized. Not that the body must become dependent upon drug or mechanical appliance, but that there may be added that stimulation in such manners and in such measures that the inducement or the revivifying and the resuscitations of the body may aid in bringing recuperative forces rather than those tendencies of strains or drains upon the system itself.
4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1299] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find does not renew itself in as efficient manner as it should, owing to that slowing up of the activities through the secondary cardiac reactions to the body, by the natural manner of drain upon the system and the effect this has had and does have upon the assimilating and glandular systems and their reactions in the bodily functions.
6. The body has cared for and does care for itself in a way and manner rather out of the ordinary, yet those tendencies as it were for functionings of these portions in the system,
1299-1 Page 2
as indicated through that condition which arises at times through the lower portion of the esophagus itself and the upper portion of the stomach from a filling up there. Not only from the emotions of the body but those tendencies for the stomach itself to fold upon itself, as it were. And the inability for the proper assimilation arises from this very slowing condition in those areas as indicated, by the tendencies for the segments in the area to become not as elastic, not the reaction as near as it should be with the ganglia of the cerebrospinal nervous forces coordinant there with the sympathetic system to give those impulses to the organs themselves.
7. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, here we find rather not the causes but effects, yet the nervous system becomes involved; so that there are periods when while the body may be as thoroughly relaxed apparently as possible, there is the inability of the body to relax thoroughly - through these nervous reactions upon those conditions as has been indicated of the slowing of the activity in glandular and organic reactions. So, the body does not regain or sustain the rest and recuperative forces from its physical rest as much as it should.
8. Not that there is wholly insomnia, but the inability of the body to thoroughly relax owing to the necessity of that slowed condition in the nerve system to be ever as it were on the alert to keep as near normal reactions as possible.
9. Hence we have a slowed condition through the circulation as related to the return as it were of the blood stream through the capillary or superficial circulation as much as it should.
10. This also is indicated in the reactions at times in:
11. THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, as has been indicated. While brain forces are alert, the reactions in the sensory forces are very good, these become slowed up; and there are the tendencies for the organs of the sensory force not to respond as readily as there has been the response or as is normal or nominal for the body. This applies rather to all the senses, whether taste, smell, hearing or vision. Not that there are not the natural reactions from the periods of activity as to the age, as would be termed, but these should be kept more on the alert in a normal balanced body. For there is every infusion within a normal body to replenish itself. And if there will be gained that consciousness, there need not be ever the necessity of a physical organism aging - other than that as is the nominal desire of a body to give away to the surrounding forces or for its own rest.
12. In the throat, bronchi, lungs, larynx - as has been
1299-1 Page 3
indicated - we find there are those tendencies in the secondary cardiac that make for a contraction, especially in the lower end of the esophagus or the cardiac end of the stomach itself.
13. These are as reflex conditions. And with the removal of those pressures, the stimulating of the ganglia area in the cerebrospinal system, coordinating of the cerebrospinal ganglia with those connecting areas specifically in those portions of the body as will be indicated, we will find there will be such a stimulation that these allow for bodily reactions to replenish and to overcome all of these tendencies that are indicated in the organic functionings as well as in the nervous system, and a building up of resistance in blood supply to a much greater and better activity.
14. The heart's activity sympathetically becomes slowed; not organic.
15. The digestive system - naturally as from the reactions in those portions of stomach, while there is not indigestion there is a nervous digestion at times for the body. But these become more effective upon the manner in which the foods through the assimilation enter into the lower portion of the stomach or through the duodenum for their reaction by the gastric flows from the organs of the internal circulation.
16. These being slowed we find tendencies for the improper eliminations, improper digestion at times; for the secretions being hindered by the activities to the glandular system, foods enter the jejunum at times without proper coordination of the gastric flows from the liver, the spleen, the pancreas, the gall duct and the gastric flow. For as the sympathetic nervous system and the superficial blood supply become involved and are slowed up, the lessening of the activity of the lymph - especially through those portions of the system - becomes more noticeable. And a heaviness to the extremities, and a leadened feeling, and an uneasiness that may be described not as a pain in any portion of the body arises at times in the experience of the bodily force itself.
17. IN MEETING, THEN, THE NEEDS OF THESE CONDITIONS AS WE WOULD FIND:
18. This, of course, tends to make for those disturbances in eliminations also. But in meeting the one, as we would find, we would aid in them all.
19. First, we would begin with the use once or twice a week of the osteopathic adjustments and manipulations of a general nature, yet more specific in the upper dorsal,
1299-1 Page 4
coordinating those through the cervical area and stimulating the lumbar axis that this tendency for the slowing of the circulation in the lower extremities may be relieved.
20. Then we would add about once every third day a stimulation from a low electrical vibration.
21. But here, for this body, we would use rather a short wave length of stored electricity, as from the B-Battery Appliance made or prepared by one Edelman. These vibrations, as we find, used for three to five minutes at a ratio of about one and two-tenths ohms discharge would create that balance in the nerve system and in the nerve reflections as to make for an easing of the tension that has been produced.
22. While the mechanical applications by the manipulative forces would set up drainages and allow for this new stimulation to be carried nominally through the body.
23. The more effective help may be gained by the body taking four to six osteopathic adjustments, and six to eight of the electrical treatments, and then rest from these for ten days or two weeks - let the body react to these and then begin again. And a series in this way of three to four series of the applications and treatments, using these at the same periods, you see; but the electrical forces only every third day; and about twice a week for four to six treatments of the osteopathic manipulations and adjustments.
24. In the matter of the diets, these are well known in the body's own experiences. And while as it has been found at times there are the better responses to the various reactions of alkalin and acid balance, as has been indicated from the system, there needs to be more of those that will produce the tendencies for alkalinity - but more of those as may be had in the form of the essence of Pepsin, or the compound known as Elixir of Lactated Pepsin. This reaction may be had, of course, much from the use of certain vegetables; but if the body finds that these are not supplying that necessary - but that there is a tendency for the continuation of this folding up or rolling up as it were of foods in the stomach, a little of the Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in water will be found to be helpful. No other chemicals or drugs as we find would be necessary or really helpful, if these suggestions are adhered to.
25. Ready for questions.
26. (Q) For physical treatments, would Dolly Pam or Dr. Robert Sacks, osteopath, be best? (A) As we would find, adjustments and manipulations as by the osteopath would be preferable.
27. (Q) What should be done for lameness in hands and
1299-1 Page 5
nearly all the body? (A) As has been indicated, this is a lack of the superficial circulation, leaving - as it were - drosses in the body. This reionizing of the blood stream, the revivifying of the flows to the internal as well as the external circulation, should revitalize these - and would be much preferable to any other applications, as we find in the present. For the body mentally, in its spiritual attributes for the physical self, may hold much in this manner - as the applications are made, osteopathically, electrically: Not for things to be gotten through with, but SEE, FEEL, KNOW - as the applications are being made - that these are channels and measures through which the divine may operate for effective activity in this body? And as the electrical vibrations are given, know that Life itself - to be sure - is the Creative Force or God, yet its manifestations in man are electrical - or vibratory. Know then that the force in nature that is called electrical or electricity is that same force ye worship as Creative or God in action! Seeing this, feeling this, knowing this, ye will find that not only does the body become revivified, but by the creating in every atom of its being the knowledge of the activity of this Creative Force or Principle as related to spirit, mind, body - all three are renewed. For these are as the trinity in the body, these are as the trinity in the principles of the very life force itself - as the Father, the Son, the Spirit - the Body, the Mind, the Spirit - these are one. One Spirit, One God, One Activity. Then see Him, know Him, in those influences. For even as the Son gave, "I of myself may do nothing, but as the Father worketh in me, through me." So it is with an individual entity or soul that sees the activities which man hath been given in the earth. For the first command is ever as thine own, "Be ye WISE and SUBDUE THE EARTH."
28. (Q) How may I solve the problem of a home and freedom to be myself? (A) Let thy acts day by day in all of thy associations be such that ye may continue to ever be at a oneness with Him in thy relationships with thy fellow man. And know thou art His, God's - and leave it as this: "My problems, my experiences, my conditions, I leave them -
1299-1 Page 6
O God - in Thy hands! They are Thine, as I am Thine! Use me in those places, in those channels, in those ways where Thou seest I may be of the greater service." And then ye may be very sure that these - if ye live them, if ye be them, if ye are them - are cared for in HIS way. And every soul should be even as the Son in the example gave, "Not my will but Thine be done in me, through me."
29. (Q) What may be done to strengthen eyes? (A) Those very vibrations from the electrical forces, as indicated; though at times - if these do not respond to these - a direct application of a low electrical vibration from these same vibrations to the eyes themselves will be helpful, only use an eye applicator and direct them over the balls themselves. But as we find, if those things as given are used with the applications as given, these are carried to every portion of the body for a renewal of same.
30. (Q) Would Bulgarious Culture or Acidophilus be well for me, either, or mixed? (A) While we are taking these applications as indicated, the better to be used would be - if necessary - the Elixir of Lactated Pepsin at times, even in a little Milk of Bismuth. But this very seldom, or not at all. But these are much better, for this particular body, than cultures; for these too easily become too numerous - that would become a drain rather than an aid.
31. (Q) What should I do for constipation? (A) As has been indicated, this is a part of the whole disturbance. When necessary, do not use cathartics or laxatives but rather enemas. In such the water temperature should not be higher than the body temperature; neither too high an enema. And into each quart of water used, put a level teaspoonful of salt and a level teaspoonful of soda. Dissolve thoroughly before putting into a Fountain Syringe. Then even if this is used at times daily, we will find it helpful, efficient and non-irritating. At times use a little Glyco-Thymoline in the last water as an intestinal antiseptic. This is an alkalin antiseptic, and there are so few of them. These as we find are much preferable to other influences. But if the manipulations in the lumbar area as indicated are given, with the proper coordination between the upper dorsal and the cervical, in these regular periods, these become much more stimulating - if the diet is held.
32. (Q) Which spiritual teacher - Henry Victor Morgan, Emmet Fox, Helena Martin or Thelma Holden - would be best for me? (A) Why not rather turn to Him that each of these would bring to thee - thyself? Begin with those promises He hath
1299-1 Page 7
given. Read the 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th chapters of John. KNOW they are not to someone else but to thee! And why would you use other forces when He is so nigh? For as He has given thee, "If it were not so I would have told you." And this means YOU! For the Father hath promised and has given us a body, that is a temple of the living soul, which is that temple in which ye should meet Him day by day. For as the pattern was given even in the mount of old, when ye turn to Him, He will direct thee. Why, O Why, then, to any subordinate, when thy brother, thy Christ, thy Savior would speak with thee! For He is not far away. For as has been given, do not say who will ascend into heaven to bring Him down, or who will come from over the seas to bring a message to me; for Lo, He is within thine own heart, thine own mind, and THERE ye may meet Him. For His messages have been, are, and ever will be for THEE - not someone else! But "Put thy burdens on me, saith the Lord - Learn of me, for I am lowly even as thee - I am meek even as thee - I will give thee REST unto your soul, unto your mind!" For the mind is both spiritual and physical in its attributes to the human body, and if ye feed thy body-mind upon worldly things, ye become worldly. If ye feed thy mind upon those things that are His, ye become His indeed. And He stands at thy door and knocks, and bids that ye will let HIM in! For He has promised, and His promises are sure!
