Time of Reading 3:35 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1302].
2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions that make for disturbances that cause a great deal of pain at times, a great deal of anxiety; those that have hindered in the locomotion at times, those that have made for drawings and swellings and inflammatory conditions.
3. As we find these have not assumed that which would properly be called arthritis or arthritic conditions. Yet there are many conditions in same that would lead at times to an indication of such disturbances.
4. But these as we find are the causes. And if there are the precautions and the proper applications we may bring a great deal of help and aid to the physical forces, as to bring about much better conditions with this body.
5. These then are conditions as we find them with this body, [1302]:
6. In times back there has been an injury to the lower end of the spine, in the coccyx area. This pressure has brought about most of those disturbances in the circulation that have hindered in the proper eliminations. Thus with some administrations, and at times not the proper administration of corrective forces either to organs of the system or to the balancing of activity through the system, there has been set at naught the activity of some of the glandular system. Also there has been an overincreasing in others of a disturbance through the blood supply, producing in much of the muscular and nerve force the disturbing factors in the body.
7. The blood supply we find then varying considerable as to the manner of its flow through the system. The activities to the lower extremities become disturbed. Those through the pelvic area and the lumbar become almost as set in their motions at times. The upper portion of the body, as to the arms, becomes involved, and the upper portion of the spinal
1302-1 Page 2
column considerable; yet the sensory reactions are not disturbed so much - for these pressures have not been brought about in that area.
8. As to the effect upon the nervous system, this pressure being more upon the central nervous system, through the organs of the pelvis, the digestive forces, brings about a greater disturbance through the activity of the organs. Then the lymph and the superficial circulation, attempting to take care of the disturbances in the eliminations, become affected more sympathetically.
9. As we would find in the immediate (for as we find it will be necessary to meet the various changes), it would be preferable for the treatments to be carried on here, or in an environ where there are the sympathetic reactions to that which may be given from time to time through these channels for the aiding. Thus we would find that some several months in this particular environ would bring much better results than the attempt of changes that would bring about an activity to the body and an environ that would be at variance with the better conditions of the body.
10. We would find first, then, that there should be the use of the Sweat Baths; those that carry not a raising of the temperature of the body to a great extent - or high; that is, by the heat - but rather FUME Baths, where there is used in same an alternation of Oil of Wintergreen and the Tincture of Iodine - or that of Atomidine full strength; one used one day of the treatment, the other at the next treatment. These to be as fume baths over the body; the body heated, to be sure, a little above the temperature of the body, but the bath rather the Fume Bath, with the thorough rubdown after same; giving particular attention to the lumbar axis and the coccyx or the end of the spine; gradually raising the end so that there may be a releasing of those tendencies for the staying or the setting of the system in this particular area where the injury was as we find that has brought about the disturbance.
11. Also we would use a rub about once a week, in the lumbar, the sacral and along the spine - not too severely - with Balsam of Sulphur. Do not have this compound too dry or yet too wet with the linseed oil; for these are made by boiling sulphur and linseed oil, necessarily in a double boiler or container, see? or else there will be fires from same. Precautions in the preparation of this are necessary, but are understood by those of the laboratory where such may be prepared. Massage this particularly in the sacral, the lumbar and along the axis - or at the brachial plexus, through portions of the cervical area (not the whole length,
1302-1 Page 3
but where there are the tendencies in the cerebrospinal system for there to be a staid condition). The lower limbs at times, as under the knees, as on the feet. But this massaged so that there is the effect of same absorbed by the disturbed superficial circulation.
12. The Fume Baths, you see, would be given two or three times a week; one time with the Wintergreen, the other with the Tincture of Iodine or full-strength atomic iodine (or Atomidine).
13. Use also each day for thirty minutes the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Gold as a vibratory force for the body. The attachments would be made in this manner:
14. With the body sitting erect, not lying down prone (unless the plates are made so they may be attached tersely to the body), the smaller plate would be attached first - at the 4th lumbar center; while the larger plate - through which the Chloride of Gold solution passes (in the proportion of two grains to one ounce of distilled water) - would be attached last, to the umbilicus and lacteal duct plexus, or covering that area where the gall duct, the liver and the emptying of the system of the food values into the jejunum begins - a span from the navel center or plexus toward the right side, see?
15. Attach this for thirty minutes each day.
16. Do the others as has been indicated.
17. Continue these for the full period of the strength of the Appliance - twenty-eight to thirty days.
18. Then we would give further instructions.
19. In the matter of the diets: Here we need body-building foods but those that tend to be more alkalin-producing than acid. For the natural inclinations of disturbed conditions in a body are to produce acidity through the blood stream. Hence we need to revivify same by the use of much of those that produce more of the enzymes, more of the hormones for the blood supply; yet not overburdening the body with those unless the balance in the vitamin forces is carried.
20. Hence as we will find, not heavy foods or fried foods ever, nor combinations where there are quantities of starches or quantities of starches with sweets taken at the same time. But fish, fowl or lamb preferably as the meats. The leafy vegetables preferably to the tuberous, though certain tuberous ones are necessary - as the artichoke, both as to the bulb and the root, for the very effect of the phosphorous for the system. The oyster plant, but these prepared with not too much butter - but a little cream. These especially carry elements that are the more easily assimilated by the body.

21. The enzymes in the Ventriculin WITH Iron, this taken only a level teaspoonful every other day with the proper diets should be the more preferable.
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) How long before I may see results? (A) In the period as indicated, until we find changes; though there may be times when there will appear some inflammation. But if these are followed we shall find days when the body will feel much better, and then days, of course, when there will be the reversal. But follow these consistently. And when the changes come, there will be given those things necessary for the building up then.
24. (Q) Where would be the best place to follow these treatments? (A) As indicated, in a sympathetic environ. As we find, these may be had, of course - the rubs and the baths - at the Reilly Institute; while the Appliance may be taken at home of an evening which is the best for the body. Also the rubs with the Balsam of Sulphur may be had at the Reilly Institute if they have these prepared outside of same - Eimer & Amend.
25. (Q) Should the adjustments in the coccyx be made at Reilly's? (A) These are not adjustments, these are merely lifting. The adjustments are not to be made until there has been a relaxing sufficiently of the body to prevent this STAYING of segments along the spine.
26. (Q) Should this treatment be given also at Reilly's? (A) This may be given also there, else we would have changed it! There will be others that will be necessary outside of these, but these for the first twenty-eight to thirty days.
27. We are through for the present. Two copies to Self - Special Delivery (one for Dr. H. J. Reilly) Copy to Ass'n file (GD's note of 12/9/36: Let us know when the treatments have been followed in toto for the period indicated, so we may make appointment for a Check Reading.)
