1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1312] - this we have had before.
2. Now, as we find, there are more complications in the organic functioning of the organs of the body. These conditions have produced disturbances that, unless they are corrected, will produce a complication of disorders that will be hard to deal with.
3. In the blood stream we find there are conditions that indicate the torpidity of the liver, and the lack of excretions from same into the assimilated foods to produce the proper balance, allowing rather inflammation to become more and more apparent through the lymph and the muco-membrane circulations of the system; thus affecting varied portions of the system, as throat, head, digestion, and even the pulmonaries show the effect of this bacilli that is being carried in the blood. The attempt of the system to create a balance, with the disorders, brings temperatures that arise in the body, and the tendency for the chills, or the chilly sensations, with the headaches, and the extremities causing the fullness that is felt at times.
4. Then, the conditions must be corrected, or this disorder as indicated will be the type of complications that would arise. The organ, the liver itself, with its contributory reactions, as the spleen and the kidneys, show the greater disorders. While this may not be termed as yet wholly cirrhosis of the liver, the spots and the hardening in portions indicate that it is bordering on that condition. Also the condition in the gall ducts, and the excretions that come from the pancreas and duodenum, make the improper assimilation of elements in system. Also there are those tendencies for the membranes of the colon and area to become dry, or a tendency for the lack of peristaltic movement, or for the lymph circulation to be proper through same, causing
1312-1 Page 2
a pressure at times on the bladder and inflammation, naturally, to the kidneys. All of these are secondary, but will become complications unless there is the removal of the pressures in the system so as to allow a more normal, nominal reaction of the assimilating system; for without the proper assimilations the vitality and the strength are gradually being used up, or burned up, in the attempt of the system to draw on the strength of same to supply the proper nutriment to the whole system. This is not a jaundice condition; rather more the torpidity of the liver, from hardening condition; though the indications in the system indicate that this in itself might become one of the complications, in the reaction to the organs affected by the disturbance.
5. In meeting the needs of the conditions in the present, as we would find, this would be the manner in which this might be done:
6. First, begin with the Castor oil packs over the whole liver area. These we would apply at least twice each day until there is a full reaction from the effects of the oil upon the lymph about the circulation in the liver proper.
7. To indicate that this has been accomplished, we would begin immediately (that is, in each day) with as high enemas as possible to cleanse the colon, using in the slush water a tablespoonful and a half of Glyco-Thymoline for each gallon of water. The water should be tepid, not too hot nor yet too cold but to act as a cleansing. In the last water used as an emit (that is, in the last for cleansing), put at least a tablespoonful of the agar or Petrolagar - the alkalin nature. Stir this thoroughly, so that there will be rather the tendency for the agar to cling to those portions of the colon area that show inflammation by the cleansing so often, that the reactions from the applications to the liver and duodenum area have no regurgitation or reaction from the caecum and transverse and descending colon area.
8. We would also begin (after the third or fourth day with the treatments of the oil packs) with the olive oil, ALL THAT THE BODY WILL ASSIMILATE. Taken in broken doses will be the most helpful.
9. Also we would begin with Castoria in small doses, after the third or fourth day. Let this not interfere with the taking of the olive oil, for the olive oil will be as a food value, while those reactions created in the liver by the Castor oil from without and the Castoria from within (and be sure it is Fletcher's) will bring about the absorption of these properties so as to make a softening of the liver lobes that are in distress. The secretions of the duodenum
1312-1 Page 3
will be aided, as well as the activity of the gall ducts themselves.
10. Having the system cleansed in the colon area should bring relief. This will make for weakness, for - to be sure - the temperatures that arise from toxic forces, and from the strain on the system, will leave the body rather in a fagged condition.
11. During these periods the diet should be as follows:
12. Mornings - citrus fruit juices only, which may be followed with a rice cake or brown toast, with a cereal drink such as Ovaltine, burnt rye, or the like.
13. Noons - these meals should be rather of meat juices or broths, whether vegetables or meat juices these would be well.
14. Evenings - rather those foods that are DIGESTED! just the opposite from what would ordinarily be given, but DIGESTED foods - such as the dry milk, the reaction from blancmange, arrowroot, flour or cakes of popcorn well ground, or of such natures, as the body RESTS - will create the absorption and reaction such as to bring better digestive reactions in system.
15. Take sufficient of the Castoria to act thoroughly. It should be taken half a teaspoonful every half hour until the bowel, the upper bowel and the liver, has acted thoroughly, or until there is the moving out of those conditions that are released by the application in the duodenum area.
16. After the Castoria has acted thoroughly, then take two ounces of Milk of Bismuth in which there is put at least twenty minims of lactated pepsin. This should be taken as a dose once each day, also, when this is begun, and the eliminations should be kept up through the high enemas.
17. Do that.
18. Ready for questions.
19. (Q) How long at a time should the oil packs be left on? (A) Put on as hot as can be well stood by the body and let them remain until they are entirely cold; from an hour to an hour and a half twice each day.
20. (Q) Should the whole two ounces of Bismuth with the twenty drops of lactated pepsin be taken at once? (A) That's given as a dose, one dose. Yes, it's a large quantity - but four ounces is not too much!
21. (Q) How long should this be kept up? (A) Until there is the thorough cleansing of the whole system.
22. (Q) If at any time it is necessary to call a physician, which one in ... would be advised? (A) One that would give some treatments without giving
1312-1 Page 4
medicine internally; for unless they would give medicine to coordinate with this it would be more harmful to the body.
