1. EC: Yes. Now as we find, the disturbances are rather deepseated. While the body has responded at times to administrations as would cause a better hepatic activity, the disturbances are now rather a combination - not only from the effect of the superacidity and the effect of the cold and congestion that arises internally from same, but sediments in the activity of both the gall duct and the kidneys.

2. And these in a combination produce this inability for the activity through the locomotions, the effect of temperature and those disturbances for the body.

3. As we would find, these may be materially aided. It will require a little patience and persistence, but these as we find would be the manners for the applications in the present. These will overcome many of the tendencies that are apparently at times the conditions but are effects of conditions in the respiratory system, in other portions of the body. But as given these are deep-seated and the causes may be removed, or must be removed if the better conditions would arise for the body.

4. We would begin first (keeping quiet for the time) with making applications externally of heat; painting the body over the areas where the disturbance arises - which is in the liver and across the body, to the right portion of the kidney area - with a four percent solution, or four to one of the combinations as will make for the easing of the body; that is, one part Aconite to four parts Laudanum. Then apply bags or packs of heated salt over same, then electrical heat.

5. Also about once to twice a week we would take the Fume Baths. These may be taken in a cabinet, but do not heat the body excessively, owing to those natural conditions as arise with the heart and lung activity from a natural condition in the hepatic circulation. But as in croup cup or the like,

the heated fumes would be from Tincture of Iodine; one part of water to three parts Tincture of Iodine. Let the fumes from same settle over the body; the steam, you see.

6. Then following each such Fume Bath the body is to be sponged off, with a full Swedish massage; then an Osteopathic adjustment following same.

7. These we would do, with the precautions as to diet and the keeping of the eliminations.

8. We would have the eliminations rather by the enemas than cathartics.

9. And we should find these bringing better conditions for this body.

10. In the application of the heat, this should be done whenever there is the severe pain or the attending temperatures as arise from the poisons that accumulate from an inactive liver or gall duct as well as those sedimentary conditions as gather in the area of the kidneys; thus producing irritation through the eliminations in the bladder and the digestive system.

11. We would have preferably a semi-liquid diet during the periods of the first two, three to four treatments; whether the manipulations or the fume baths.

12. Do that.

13. Ready for questions.

14. Laudanum four parts, Aconite one part. The body to be painted over the area indicated, with this combination. Then the salt packs and electric heat to keep same hot and to drive the properties in, to reduce these congestions and to set up counter-irritation with the activities of the lymph circulation.

15. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) How often should the Fume Baths and the Osteopathic adjustments be made? (A) Once to twice to three times a week, as indicated. The Fume Bath first, the Swedish Massage, then the adjustment Osteopathically following same, see?

17. (Q) Any specific advice regarding the adjustments? (A) These should be of the general nature, and making for stimulation to eliminations or drainages through disturbed areas, which would mean from the lungs, from the soft tissue of the face, and through the alimentary canal. Thus the necessity once or twice a week at first of using the enemas, body-temperature - not hotter, not colder.
