Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:35 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., W. Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1342].

2. As we find, there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body. These as we find, in their basic condition, arise from specific disturbances; but the reactions in the system with the changes that are and have been gradually coming about, or the beginnings of the periods of menopause, are changed or altered.

3. Hence we have those continued periods of headaches, indigestion, disturbance with eliminations, the overnervous spells; and periods when there are hot and cold sensations.

4. These are effects, not causes; and, other than just a help, there needs to be those proper corrections made as would alleviate the causes of the disturbance and - during these periods of transition in physical functioning - make for the conditions becoming nominal or normal for the body.

5. Then these are the conditions as we find them with this body:

6. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find the indications of hindrances in a circulatory system, and distresses through organs of the body; in the pelvic organs, the digestive organs, through those of assimilation and the glandular activity.

7. Hence we have periods when it becomes necessary that there be a purifying of same by such increased eliminations as to produce greater strain upon that basic cause of the disturbance.

8. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, here we find the greater disturbance; not only the cause but most of the effects also of conditions.

9. In times back there has been, as we find, in the lumbar area - and to the coccyx and to the last of the dorsal centers - a tendency to produce a pressure that has shortened the space between the segments; or a jammed condition in a segment (the 4th lumbar, the 12th dorsal, and

the effect upon the muscular forces especially to the coccyx end).

10. Then the periods as indicated where so much distress arises ordinarily with the nervous system, with the adjustments of the body, these have made for premature reaction and for greater distresses by the reactions upon the organs of assimilation and elimination.

11. These also produce or cause the effects upon that activity of the eliminating canal, as to produce engorgements in areas that produce naturally a tendency for prolapsus in others.

12. IN THE EFFECT UPON THE ORGANS, as has been indicated, all become involved through the effect upon the nervous system, and all at times present a condition to be reckoned with; but if the corrections are made in the specific areas, and then the general care for creating for the bodily functions a near normalcy to activity in the organs, we would find near normal conditions resulting from such applications.

13. IN MAKING FOR CORRECTIONS, THEN, first we would begin with specific adjustments, but make them preferably osteopathically; in the lumbar and the coccyx area, naturally coordinating the 12th dorsal, the 9th dorsal, the upper dorsal and the cervical area at times, but adjustments being made in the lumbar and coccyx area.

14. And when such treatments or adjustments are made, be sure these extend to the limbs; under the knees and feet and heel. For the pressures here removed will take a great deal of the pressure off of the nerve system that produces irritation through those areas of the lumbar axis.

15. We would have these at least twice a week for four weeks, rest from them a week and then have another period of four weeks.

16. To aid in stimulating and in giving to the system sustenance to act, or activity in those directions that the activity of such mechanical adjustments makes, we would prepare in this manner a compound to be taken internally:

17. As a carrier, to 2 ounces of Strained Pure Honey add 4 ounces of Distilled Water. Let this come to a boil. Skim off the refuse. Set aside to cool, and when nearly cold add 1 and 1/2 ounce of Pure Grain Alcohol. Then: Tincture of Stillingia.............1/2 ounce, Tincture of Valerian...............1/4 ounce, Elixir of Calisaya.................1/2 ounce, Syrup of Rhubarb...................1/4 ounce.

When this is to be taken, shake together well. Preferably take a teaspoonful before the evening meal and a teaspoonful just before retiring of an evening. Take in this manner at least twice each day for periods of a week, ten days, have a rest period from same of a week or ten days, and then take again.

18. After at least four or five of the complete adjustments osteopathically are made, we would use the Violet Ray of an evening before retiring, to soothe the nerve forces of the body. Begin at the base of the brain, a circular motion along either side of the cerebrospinal system, extending all the way to the lower portion of the spine; then down the sciatic nerve to the bottoms of the feet. Do this for periods of a week to two weeks, rest from same a few days (not weeks, but days), and then begin again.

19. And with the precautions as to diet and the general activities, we should find the body responding normally.

20. As to the diet: We would keep away from certain combinations. Do not take coffee with milk or cream in same, though sugar may be taken. Do not eat hog meat of any kind, save a little crisp bacon. Do not take cereals and citrus fruit juices on the same day even. When citrus fruit juices are taken, do not have cereals (that is, either dry or cooked cereals) the same day. The cereals when taken would be preferably (for the body) whole wheat crushed, or that called Maltex as cooked cereals. Citrus fruit juices should be taken two to three times each week. Have one meal each day when most of the meal is green, raw vegetables. Do not eat white bread, potatoes, spaghetti or macaroni, any two at the same meals. Let the meats when taken be principally fish, fowl, or lamb. No fried foods, and especially no fried potatoes. Roasted yams or sweet potatoes are very good if plenty of butter is taken with same. The shell fish are very good but do not combine these with any of those fruits or vegetables that produce an acid reaction.

21. Do these and we will bring the near normal condition of this body, [1342].
