Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Affairs and conditions surrounding [1357] of ... Ave., New York and his association with [1113] Furniture Inc., and you will advise him as to his future prospects with that firm or with other firms with whom he might connect.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, [1357]; the associations and the relations with the [1113] Furniture; the abilities and the activities of the entity.
2. As we find, in considering all of the affairs, all of the associations and connections, the present surroundings are in some respects very well for one that is satisfied to remain in a passive position; but when the conditions and the developments are considered as we find that are evident, and that will and do exist, these opportunities for further advancement do not make for satisfactory conditions in the mental experience of the body. This, to be sure, is as has been indicated.
3. Then to consider those activities that may be developments in the affairs or associations with others would be, as we find, most advisable.
4. To be sure, considered from the material angle, there would be little necessity - or rather it would be foolhardiness - for the entity to jeopardize itself by an association that is not altogether satisfactory; or where there are questions within the affairs or such an organization, either from a social or a financial or a material standpoint.
5. But when the abilities are considered, the judgements in this way and manner are well; in that the executive abilities of the body-entity to not only meet the trade, not only to set policies (that have not altogether been satisfactory in the present surroundings), must be considered, but the judgements as well concerning all the characters of conditions that have been intimated.
6. Ready for questions.
7. (Q) How long will it be best for me to remain with [1113]'s? (A) As has been indicated, until there is the ability for
1357-1 Page 2
the making of an association or connection where - all things considered - there would be greater opportunities for the abilities of the entity. As to just how soon this may be, much - of course - depends upon the activities of the entity; inasmuch as there have been and are the opportunities for coalitions or the expanding with some of the associations that have been considered - provided the services or the abilities of the entity might be a part of such a consideration. Hence from that angle, as to how long might depend upon the activities of the entity in cooperation with others.
8. (Q) Should I now accept proposition of [...], of [...]'s? (A) As we find, this - as has been indicated - is worthy of considerations, and provided, to be sure, that all of the considerations that have been suggested are taken into consideration before so doing.
9. (Q) Will the [...] offer provide as important a future as [1113]? (A) If there are the abilities for the entity to provide or use or apply policies and conditions as the abilities warrant, then there is a greater future. Hence as has been intimated, all of these are to be taken into consideration in the study of the proposition. As we find it in the present, as has been given, it is worthy of being given due consideration, and if there is given the leeway for the activities indicated then it is worthy of acceptation.
10. (Q) On what basis should I accept? (A) As has just been indicated; that there is the allowing of the body to put into practice those abilities; those policies, those activities that have been for so long a part of the entity and yet curbed by the present surroundings with little opportunity for the broader advancement in those directions.
11. (Q) Is there any association advisable or foreseen between [1357] and [257] or associates? (A) This will depend upon the abilities of each to, in their associations, bring about coalitions, or better or closer cooperations with an advanced or spreading organization or corporation.
12. (Q) Will [257] be able to make the merger with [...] and others, which may develop around [1357], for his best interests? (A) We haven't [257] but as has been intimated, if there
1357-1 Page 3
are the cooperations on the part of all, these may be consummated - with or without [257] activities. But we haven't his activities here; rather the approach is from those activities of [1357] in the present.
13. (Q) What development can [1357] bring around himself for his best interests and welfare? (A) As has been indicated, in putting into practice some of those policies, some of those ideas, that are in the broader sense - not those above reproach in some, but the ideals that are prompting same are correct.
14. (Q) How can he improve his abilities? (A) This might require, or there might be given, a whole period - not that he is lacking, but in what is the prompting of the policies? In a sentence, it may be said in this: Do to each individual associate, each individual connection, THAT you would have those individuals or connections do to you; and you will find the response - well, beyond compare.
15. (Q) Are his best business interests in New York City? (A) As has been indicated, or else these were naught.
16. (Q) What can he expect if he remains in [1113]'s ... Furniture, Inc., employ? (A) To be passive, as it has been for the last several seasons.
17. (Q) What field of endeavor will be most lucrative to [1357]? (A) In putting into practice, as has been given, the policies that are innate and that have sought expression in the furniture distributions.
18. (Q) When will he make a change for the better? (A) When will tomorrow or the next year arrive? Or when will this or that happen? It depends upon circumstances! The wills of individuals are changed by circumstance, by environ. Haps, mishaps arise; planned and without planning, changes come. As to when these will make a change depends upon too many things to say tomorrow, next year, next month, next fall, next season, or when.
19. (Q) According to his planets, what changes, if any, are best for 1937? (A) As has been indicated, in being in the position to apply that which has been given as to the policies and putting them or executing them in associations with the general trade. Whether that's this month, next month or next year depends upon the activities!
1357-1 Page 4
Such influences are all dependent upon what we make of them! As to the planetary influences, they are merely indications. It is what one does ABOUT what one knows that counts! What - ask the self - WHAT has produced the condition or feeling of being repressed? Not given the free will to put into practice those that it sees as better policies? In the application then of that which IS the real ideal comes the success. Though some of the policies are not without question, as has been indicated, if set with "Do as ye would be done by" as the rule, they will succeed.
20. (Q) What mental development, if any, does [1357] need to fit him for his larger and broader endeavors? (A) As has been indicated; mental and spiritual too.
21. (Q) Will 1937 be a good year for furniture store mergers, to sell them to Wall Street? (A) Be a good year.
22. (Q) What do the [1113]'s family - [...], [1113], [...] and [...], individually, think of [1357] and how do the feel toward him? (A) About the same manner in which [1357] feels towards them, as an individual and as a group! For what an individual thinks of another is usually reflected in the manner in which the individual treats, or is treated by the other.
23. (Q) Is there any other organization that needs the kind of services I can render? (A) These in their proper spheres and places. Do the first things first; and as conditions develop these will be brought about in their proper place.
