TEXT OF READING 1383-1 M 63 (Teacher, Hungarian, Religious Preference Not Listed)

This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of June, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1383], new Associate Sponsored Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by: Dr. Saul B. Sells, Dr. Gardner Murphy and Dr. Lucien H. Warner, of the Department of Psychology, Columbia University, New York City. The verification of the first appointment, June 1st, with membership application and written request from Mr. [1383], came too late for us to keep the appointment. A letter from Dr. Sells this morning advised us to proceed with Mr. [1383]''s Reading, during the hour scheduled for Columbia today.

1. EC: Yes.

2. While the special activities of the individual might be interesting, these would require a different approach from that sought at this time - to help the physical deficiencies.

3. In giving that which as we find may be of assistance or help in the disturbing factors in the physical forces of the body, there would be required the consideration of much that has been the experience of the entity through the years as related to the effect of a disturbance in the form of an eczema - or the congestions in the lymph circulatory forces and the conditions produced upon the organs of the sensory system.

4. But that as may be more materially aided as we find is the effect the condition has the more recently produced upon the superficial circulation, or the abrasions - or the rash that disturbs the body at times, and produces more or less of a hardening in the ends of the superficial circulation in the extremities of the body, and the irritation as seen upon portions of the hands and the effect upon the locomotory centers of the bodily functions themselves.

5. These as we find arise from a condition, as indicated, that has been existent for some time in the inability of the

1383-1 Page 2

superficial circulation and the deeper circulation to coordinate in the elimination of the poisons or used forces through the system, leaving these to become as it were the irritant between the circulatory forces as indicated.

6. While the aiding of these will aid also somewhat those effects that have been produced upon the sensory forces of the body as related to the activity of the organs of same - as in the hearing, as in the vision and the speech, in the taste, in the smell and the like - these as we find have advanced so far that there only may be helpful forces and not curative forces.

7. But the irritations to the external portions may be entirely eliminated, if those activities as we find indicated here are carried through; that is:

8. We would advise the form of vibratory forces as may be had from the low bodily electrical forces through the use of the Radio-Active Appliance, creating the radio-active influences to help a bodily circulation as produced by vibratory forces of the body that are built up through the application of the Appliance that makes for an equalizing to the lower extremities and upper extremities and the effect that this produces upon the central nervous system as related to the circulatory forces of the body, in aiding to produce a balance or a coordinating force between the superficial and the deep circulatory forces.

9. These vibrations as we find will aid also in making for better and more equalized rest for the body. The Appliance may be attached twice a day if so desired; more preferably, though, to cause the ability of the body to rest of an evening. We would use same about an hour each day for periods of a month, then leave it off for a week and then use again. Keep the anodes or plates very clean. Have the Appliance in the ice solution, that makes for a change in the vibratory forces of the metals, about twenty minutes before it is attached to the body. Make the attachments to the opposite extremities of the body; that is, the right wrist and left ankle, the next day the left wrist and right ankle, and so on.

10. As to the diet: The precautions as to the foods are the most necessary forces to make for the better eliminations. Hence we would keep the proper diet well in hand. Do not have such combinations as citrus fruits AND cereals or milk at the same meal; though quantities of orange juice and grapefruit juice are well to be taken. Use preferably the Whole Wheat or Rye Bread, or Sour Bread, rather than the White Bread or Buns or the like. Not too much of those foods that carry quantities of sugars. Use the leafy

1383-1 Page 3

vegetables rather than the bulbular or those that grow under the ground to excess. Use about the proportion of three of the leafy vegetables to one of the bulbular or tuberous nature. DO NOT use red meats. No hog meat at ANY time. A little fish may be taken if it is not fried. No fried foods - these are all harmful for the general conditions, as we find.

11. After the evening meal, or after the heavier meal of the day especially, we would use that compound made by The American Ferment Company to produce the ability of the digestive forces, or to cause the lactic forces in the digestive system to produce better assimilation or to form a curd that produces assimilations; thus reducing the tendencies for acidity owing to the conditions that arise from the lack of the proper eliminations and those tendencies for the effect of the condition to act upon the circulatory forces of the body. It is the compound prepared by The American Ferment Company, called Alcaroid. Take about half a teaspoonful, dissolve in a small quantity of water, then fill the glass and stir same thoroughly. This would be taken about twenty to thirty minutes after the meal has been eaten, and then drink another full glass of water following same. This will keep down those tendencies for the fullness in the stomach. This will also aid in the better activity of the alimentary canal, reduce the tendency for acidity, make for a better activity or coordination between the upper and the lower hepatic circulation, acting somewhat upon the liver itself as well as the digestive forces. Also, with the vibratory forces changed through the use of the Radio-Active Appliance, it will aid in the kidneys; thus relieving those pressures and those tendencies for pressures upon the prostate - that give some disturbance to the body at times.

12. Of course, rubs or massages will be helpful. Bathing the affected portions of the skin itself with a very heavy or strong tea made from Mullein Leaves would be most helpful. Take two ounces of the Mullein Leaves and bruise very thoroughly, if the green leaves are used, or three ounces of the Mullein Leaves if the dried leaves are used, and put into a quart of nearly cold water. Let it come to almost a boil, but very slowly. As it comes to the boil take off. Use this proportion in preparing same, for use in bathing the affected parts, but make fresh every two days. This would be a most efficacious application.

13. Do these and we will find the better conditions; we will bring for this body a great deal nearer to normal condition of the superficial activities, as has been indicated, and

aid in many conditions for the body, [1383].

14. Ready for questions.

15. We are through for the present. Copy to Dr. Saul B. Sells " " Sponsor - Theo B. Dobbins [wife of Dr. Frank P. Dobbins] " " Assn file (6/7/37 At end of Radio-Active Appliance - explanatory sheet. Note to Dr. Sells:- For use in the [1383] case, I am sure we can secure the loan of a Radio-Active Appliance if you wish. Please reply to Hugh Lynn Cayce. [signed] Gladys Davis, Sec'ty)
