Time of Reading 4:25 to 5:05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [1397], present in this room, who seeks a mental and spiritual Reading with information, advice and guidance as to her mental and spiritual development, her mental and material affairs. You will give that which will be most helpful at this time, answering the questions she submits, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, Doctor [1397] present in this room.
3. In giving mental and spiritual counsel for the entity, as in relation to the mental and material affairs, much must be taken into consideration - as purposes, desires, urges. Then that which is the ideal of the entity, the body, the mind, the spiritual self.
4. For as the entity has experienced, and as is the experience of every entity, that by which the activities of an entity are to be judged must in its essence be spiritual in itself.
5. For unless the desires, the urges, are motivated by such, they must of themselves sooner or later become rather stumbling-stones than stepping-stones for progress; whether this be material, mental or spiritual.
6. And if there is then self-sufficiency, yea even self-complacency in the mental self, the spiritual unless constructive must sooner or later become as naught.
7. In the experience of this entity, then, we find oft there have been experiences when that which has been accepted by the entity as an active principle and the confidences as placed have become such as to turn as it were upon the very influences and the very activities of the body-mind.
8. Hence the entity has understood that the motivative force of such associations then has not been founded in truth nor in reality as related to constructive forces.
9. Then what must be the application of self respecting such experiences? If the outcome of same is creating malice or
1397-2 Page 2
even that of anxiety that takes hold of fear and becomes destructive, then there is brought about the entity such dismay, such fearfulness as that the good becomes evilspoken of, that as would be construed to become creative is found to become destructive in the experience of the relationships as one to another.
10. Then what is truth? Where may it be found? How will the entity in its present experience, in its present development in this material sojourn, know what to believe, who to believe?
11. For as has been indicated, it behooves the entity to consider the SOURCE of that as may be given to self for truth, for constructive experiences, as well as what the tenets of such knowledge or understanding may be.
12. And unless the sources are such that there has never been, nor may ever be, a question as to the authority of such, then be fearful lest these turn upon thee.
13. For as He hath given, thy spirit beareth witness with the Father-God; that thou doest bear record with Him that ye have chosen aright.
14. For His promises are sure, and He hath promised to meet thee within the tabernacle of thine own consciousness.
15. For thy body indeed IS the temple of the living God, and in thee there comes the answer for that as He would have thee do. And if thy choice is in that direction that is given by thy own inner self, ye become aware of His presence as abiding with thee day by day - in every phase of thy experience.
16. For as He hath given, "TRY me, and I will PROVE myself to thee," IN the choice of thine own inner consciousness.
17. These then be the measures, be the sources, be the channels through which the self may gain the greater understanding, find the greater unfoldment, have within thine own self the greater consciousness that He hath work, He hath a purpose in thy experiences day by day.
18. As hath been said of old, fearful indeed it is to fall into the hands of the living God, UNLESS thy purposes, thy desires towards thy fellow man are in keeping with the will of the Father.
19. What, then, is His will? That ye may eschew evil, and do good unto those that ye contact day by day. For as ye mete, as ye think, as ye do unto the least of thy brethren, ye do unto that God in thy holy self.
20. For as ye mete unto him, ye mete unto thy Maker within, yea and without.
21. And He is not holding any guiltless that of themselves choose to magnify hate or malice or selfishness, or the
1397-2 Page 3
things that take hold upon fear or death, or even hell itself.
22. But they that show in their daily experiences the seeds of the spirit of truth - patience, longsuffering, gentleness, kindness, even to those that despitefully use them - THEY may then know that He will walk with them.
23. For man may only sow, God alone may give that increase, that unfoldment, that quickening of the spirit of truth that indeed makes thee free. Free of what? Of the turmoils that arise from disturbing forces that may be manifested in the experiences of a soul as one to another, that seek to glorify or magnify their own selfish desires.
24. But the Lord is not mocked, and whatsoever ye sow, that must ye reap.
25. Then INDEED does one comprehend, understand what the psalmist meant when he said that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God!
26. But they that seek, they that knock, they that would have Him - the Father-God; yea, they that would seek to know His Face, their prayer, yea their activity with their fellow man becomes ever: "Here am I, Lord, use me in those channels, in those manners as THOU seest that is best for my closer walk with thee."
27. With that attitude, with that purpose, with that as the desire, with that as the promptings of the heart and mind and body, or as He put it - thy Brother - "Love the Lord with all thy heart, thy mind, thy body; and thy neighbor as thyself." For this is the whole law of God.
28. And when ye manifest same in thy relationships to thy fellow man day by day, ye may be assured that the result that HE would have in the fruits of thy material endeavors will show forth in thy relationships with others day by day.
29. Keep then thy OWN self in that way and manner in which ye may ever face thine own conscience with the ideals of thy heart in RELATIONSHIP to thy Creator.
30. Ready for questions.
31. (Q) My desire is to have sufficient leisure and release from strain to pursue my study and contact with the "rays" which are operating through the various machines now in use - such as radionics, micro-dynameter, aetheronics and others of a similar nature. In order to accomplish this a certain amount of economic security is necessary. MAY I EXPECT THIS TO COME THROUGH MY TEXAS PROPERTY? If so, how soon? (A) This should rather be, "Lord, is this the channel, is this the manner in which thou would have me serve? If so, then may those channels, in the activities in the Texas lands, be such that there may be provided that security for
1397-2 Page 4
my giving of myself in the best of my mind and my body to serve in such a way and manner," and LEAVE the results with Him! These may not be at first, to thee, very definite. But it is HIS way that He would have with thee, if ye would come to know, if ye would be of the greater service in this material experience. Then, as ye fit thyself in SINCERE desire, so may those channels FURNISH the material things for the carrying out of that He has purposed for thee. And as ye do they will, they WILL supply that needed.
32. (Q) In connection with the Texas property, am I to expect further interference and disloyalty in the future or more cooperation from [...] my former associate, who is now occupying the property? (A) As we find, as that ye mete out, if ye expect - if ye show greater cooperation, then ye will find greater cooperation. And remember, the silver and the gold, yea the cattle in the hills, yea the oil, the gold of same, are the Lord's. Use then that thou hast in hand. For He will multiply it, some to ten, some to twenty, to some sixty, to some an hundred fold; dependent upon that purpose and that sincerity to which thou, thyself, may use that in hand. Ye may expect, ye may COMMAND, greater cooperation and greater activity for the fulfilling of same, if thy purposes are set. Not in fame for self, not in fortune for self, but rather that through the channels, through those activities that are permitted in thy hands, in thy keeping, ye may serve thy fellow man the better; bringing to men's consciousness the awareness of their needs, not only mentally but spiritually. And these will bring thee, then, to thy goal.
33. (Q) In connection with [...] and the Texas property, do those in her environment - notably HELEN MAXWELL, TOMMY CHAMBERS and their lawyer GRAGG - constitute a menace to me and my interests? If so, how can I best deal with it? (A) Deal with them in that manner that ye would have them deal with thee. They do not constitute a menace, if thy purposes are set wholly in being of service THROUGH the proceeds of same to thy fellow man. Meet it in Him. For when the burden is too great for thee, His promises have been, "I will bear thee up, I will keep
1397-2 Page 5
thee in thy ways; thy enemies shall not prevail against thee but I will set them at naught." And this means THEE - not others, THEE!
34. (Q) In this same connection, can I count upon a measure of honesty and friendliness OR THE REVERSE from the Corporation lawyer, [...]? (A) Ye may expect friendliness, with those purposes set firmly as has been indicated as to the attitude, desires of the body, mind and heart. For as ye show thyself friendly, ye have friends. As ye show thyself otherwise, the fruits are the same. But these have been set in that way in which, as ye unfold, unburden thy purposes, thy desires, these will come to pass.
35. (Q) Should I sign the paper recently sent me by [...], in regard to a portion of the property known as the Olson Estates? (A) This is to be considered wise, if this is to free the other portions that are promised in same. COUNSEL with thy inner self in this manner; first: If thy own mental consciousness finds this the solution of the problems, then take it to thy inner consciousness - yea, into the tabernacle of the holy of holies in thy deep meditation and prayer. And if the answer is the same, then act that way. For as has been given, ye must have, ye must so labor, ye must sow seed thyself such that - or ye must so set thyself that - right and good and God is with thee; then there is nothing - NOTHING to fear! And know, there is nothing that may keep thee from the knowledge of the Father, in material as well as in the mental and spiritual forces, save thine own self!
36. (Q) Is it positively necessary for me to make a trip to Texas in January or may this be deferred until a later date without jeopardizing my interests? If I must go in January will my New York interests greatly suffer? (A) This will depend somewhat upon the activities that are taken by those that are in authority, or upon the accounts there. As WE find, about the first, or in the first week or first fifteen days of the coming year - THEN it will be necessary for the personal presence of the entity. The New York interests will not suffer, if thy purposes, thy desires, OR that goal ye seek, are in Him.
37. (Q) For security in the near future, when may I expect
1397-2 Page 6
a sale of my house in Paterson, N.J., or of my shore property in Point Pleasant, N.J.? (A) In April ye may expect the better opportunity on BOTH of these properties. Let that as has been given thee keep thee in thyself as one that rightly divides the words of truth, and keeps self unspotted from malice, hate, or selfishness.
