1. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1401].
2. In giving the interpretation of the record of the entity in the material as well as in the experiences between the earthly sojourns, we find:
3. It should be understood that the earthly sojourn urges are to the emotions, while the mental or innate urges are from the experiences of the soul in the environs about the earth.
4. But these are merely urges or inclinations, not impelling forces, and these used in their proper relationships as warnings, or as those things to embrace, may be applied in the experience for helpful forces and influences.
5. Know, however, that it is what the will does about that which is set as its ideal in a mental, in a material or in the physical experiences as well as the spiritual - and then having the courage to carry out that ideal - makes the difference between the constructive and creative forces or relationships and those that make one become rather as a drifter or a ne'er-do-well, or one very unstable and unhappy.
6. But if the constructive, spiritual forces and influences are the criterion, then the application of self in these directions as the ideal brings harmony - even when discouragements or disappointments arise.
7. For one knows and realizes, by the very application of self, that there is an Advocate with the Father of mercy, of justice, of patience, of love, the Creator of the universe and all that is therein. And thus one becomes much more stable in one's inclinations.
8. From the urges as we find that arise from sojourns in the earth as well as from the astrological aspects, there may be somewhat of a summation; and, as will be seen from the
1401-1 Page 2
individual experiences as well as the astrological sojourns, these are drawn as conclusions - and these used then as the ways and means or manners of gaining from that as may be given, there may come helpful forces, constructive experiences.
9. There is innate the tendency for the love of that which is easy, that is beautiful, that is harmonious; those desires to become - as is the nature, or the natural trend to become - some individual of note or renown; either as a singer, a musician, an actress or the like.
10. Yet there is the tendency to be dilatory about the application of self, and when it comes to hard work or the taking of the time and the patience - the tendency is to "slide by" and take the easier way.
11. This must be overcome.
12. There are also those tendencies for the (lack?) like of orderliness about the entity; things to be in their place when needed; conditions to be ideal for those that make for the niceties of experiences; the conveniences about the home, the fireside, the relationships.
13. Yet there is the inclination to be the innate tendency for "putting off" that which should be done today; to be a little slipshod as it were about caring for the self, the person, or the putting of things back in their places; and when these then are needed again the natural inclination is to call on another as to what was done with same.
14. Hence there should be the inclination more in self to determine, to purpose that each thing must be in its place; there must be orderliness about the home.
15. For the home life, rather than a career, should be the activity of the entity.
16. Hence those things in its training should be home economics, the abilities to make for training of those things about the home; the help, the cares of the home; those things pertaining to music, those things pertaining to painting, drawing; those things that make for the creation of the beauties of the harmony of a home - these should be a part of those things for the entity's better and safer development.
17. For as some of these things, as we have indicated, are tending to be lacking; then these should be stressed; as orderliness in person, orderliness in the rooms, orderliness about the home; each thing in its place and the care for things of the nature and the kind should be a part of the entity's experience.
18. And when the wedded life is to be considered (and it will come early in the experience of the entity), consider
1401-1 Page 3
only those born in May and June as companions; for others, in other months, the entity will not get along with very well.
19. As to those things about the person:
20. The moonstone or the agate should be as an amulet, either about the neck or as a ring, or worn upon the person.
21. For these make for the creating of those activities, as will be seen have been, are, a portion of the experience of the entity in its course through those influences that bring experiences in the earth as in the present.
22. From the astrological aspects we find there was a sojourn upon the moon.
23. Hence the moon is an active influence of the entity, and DO NOT ever sleep with the moon shining upon the face.
24. In the sunshine, much; for the moon and the sun are the ruling of the emotions, and these are - as from the sojourns of the entity in Venus - a greater portion of the experiences as will be had.
25. For friendships, homes, family, family kinsfolk, will always mean much to the entity.
26. Then, as these mean much, make thine own experience in all ye do and say such that thine own children, thine own mother, thine own father, thine own kin, may ever be proud to claim thee as their kin.
27. From the very influences from Venus, then, the entity becomes one that will ever be very companionable; one that will always have many friends; one that makes friends easily - and among those of all ages.
28. For the friendships are to the entity just as endearing among those that are older in years as among those of the same age.
29. Yet there should be through those periods of development, especially the early teen ages, the continuing care as to the associates, as to the friendships that the entity makes. These to be sure are obligations of those upon whom the entity is dependent; and if there is the proper manner used for the activities with the entity, coercion or the breaking of the will or demands will not be made. For we find that cooperation may be had with the entity if there is love, and the practical answering as to WHY do this, WHY do that.
30. Then the entity in itself, as it asks these very questions, finds the answer - if there is kept ever before the entity that ideal as indicated, that must be set in the spiritual life and in studying to show self approved, being kept in body and in mind toward the co-relationships of the spiritual understanding.
1401-1 Page 4
31. For the moral life, the home, the mental, are the evidences as to the reverence with which the spiritual things are held in the mental forces of an entity.
32. For Mind being the Builder, that upon which the heart is set is as He hath given, "Where thy treasure is, there is thy heart also."
33. Then, in the making of the home, in the keeping of the life and the activities in every way, put the heart in same - as is directed by Him who IS the Life, who IS the Savior, who IS the HOPE of ALL peoples!
34. From Venus we find also the relationships as indicated as to the early beginnings of the home dwelling. Thus the necessary activities that should be given and be presented in the experience of the entity for such an activity.
35. Jupiter we find benevolent to these influences. Hence, as has been indicated, there is the influence for the like of travel, the like of a broader association of friends, the like of those things having to do with ideals of material groups and natures.
36. Hence the entity in all of its developing period, in its ideals of the hero or the heroine of its experience, should be set in those whose SPIRITUAL life shows what is the directing force in their experience.
37. In Saturn we find both a benevolent and an adverse influence.
38. Hence we will find that changes, as combined with the desire for travel, may make for experiences that would become questions not only to the entity but to those who have had to do with the training periods in years of the entity's activity. But many changes are indicated in the relationships, the activities of the entity during this present sojourn.
39. As to the appearances of the entity in the earth and those as we find that influence the entity in the present activity:
40. Before this we find the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those periods when there were the settlings in that called Alabama, when the leaders of the French - as termed - with all of their retinue of friends, of followers, settled in the land.
41. The entity was among those born in the land during their period of sojourn, and in the family of the leader Nye. Hence the entity's name in the experience was Catherine Nye.
42. During the early portion of the teen age the entity journeyed back to France. This made for an intense longing in the experiences of the entity during that sojourn.
43. Hence the indecisions and the conditions that arise oft
1401-1 Page 5
in the present when the entity finds, or those about the entity find, dissatisfaction, and what may be called NERVOUSNESS, and the inclinations to not be able to stay in one direction or in one place. These arise from those innate urges coming from not only the moon's sojourn but from the experiences in the earth at that time when mentally there were the longings for the changes, or for the abilities of others to direct without questioning the life or the experiences of the entity.
44. Hence this makes for those tendencies for the entity to ask so oft why it cannot do as it chooses.
45. These understood, these directed and answered, may be used constructively. DO NOT answer the entity especially, in the early teen years, by saying "Because I said so," or "Because it is right," but explaining WHY you said so, and WHY it is right. Thus we would find much more harmony in that period of the entity's development.
46. Before that we find the entity was in the earth when the Master walked in the land, and when there were those blessed by the Master.
47. The entity was the one taken from among the children whom He used as an example when he gave, "Except ye become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter in."
48. Hence we will find that experience gradually making for the advancement by the close adherence to those principles as He set; not as dogmatic influences of an orthodox activity - these He did not teach! For the whole gospel as He gave is, "Thou shalt love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart, thy mind, thy body; and thy neighbor as thyself."
49. This practised, this applied, this lived in the experience of this entity will bring harmony and hope and the building of the home that may be blessed even by His Presence not only with the entity but all those with whom the entity may journey or sojourn.
50. In the experience the entity was called Roselan, and gained; yet persecutions brought much disturbings to that developing entity during the experience.
51. Hence again those questions that arise as to whether it is best to do this or that for the spirit's sake or this or that for the body's sake.
52. And these will be found to be more and more a part of the entity's emotional life as it develops in this experience.
53. Hence all the more reason, as has been indicated, that those directing same should make for the full answering of all questions as to WHY this or that is asked, demanded or advised the entity to be done.
1401-1 Page 6
54. For the entity is of high mental experience and development, as has been indicated; but may be ruled with love and never by force.
55. Before that we find the entity was in the land then - as now - called Greece, during those experiences when many came into the "city in the hills and the plains."
56. The entity then was one beautiful of body, beautiful of mind; used among those that were to entice or induce the teachers to become more and more given to the secular and the material and the bodily aggrandizements.
57. Yet under the teachings, under the directions of the teacher there the entity became rather the one that made for the creating of what may be termed the home atmosphere of the place of worship.
58. For the linens of the tables, the decorations of the meeting place for what ye would call confession, what ye would call sacrifice, what ye would call the ministering or teaching or preaching place, were prepared, were kept by the entity; who during the experience was known - as would be the interpretation now - as Jean (and it would be well to be a portion of the name in the present).
59. In the experience the entity gained throughout; for not only were there the abilities in so many directions to minister to those who were in high and low places, but the entity was gifted in making music upon stringed instruments.
60. Thus we will find stringed instruments - as the harp, the violin, the guitar - preferable to the piano, the organ or the like, to the entity; and preferably the training of the entity's activities should be in those directions.
61. Also the abilities for certain characters of sewing should be a development from that experience, as well as in the ability to care for linens of all natures - whether as to dress, decoration for rooms, homes, or of whatever nature of character.
62. In that period the entity brought much of the beauties to all those peoples.
63. Then, magnify those experiences. For the way was opened for the entity through those teachings of that minister or teacher or leader in those experiences.
64. Again is it opened for the comprehension of what the Christ-Life may mean by His abiding presence; for making life not only beautiful for self but the beauty ye give to others - that alone ye possess.
65. Get away from, then, the selfishness that was attempted to be taught in the experience, and we will find there will be brought much harmony for the entity in the present.
66. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land,
1401-1 Page 7
and in the Temple Beautiful; for this was not only an outstanding experience but one in which the entity gained the most in the training for the young.
67. Hence teaching or nursing will be a part of the entity's desire.
68. But the HOME the entity may build.
69. As to the experiences in the Temple Beautiful, we find the entity was in the office of those - and directing those - that were being dedicated, being educated, being trained as it were for the various activities in the varied fields of service; whether at home or abroad.
70. For the entity gave much aid to all of those in that experience.
71. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, and that to which it may attain, and how:
72. Through those activities as indicated, there should be preferably the building up of the home; watching those shortcomings, keeping self pure and unspotted from the world; knowing in WHOM ye believe as well as in what ye believe, and dividing the words of truth. Thus ye will grow in grace, in knowledge, in understanding of His ways with thee!
73. Ready for questions.
74. (Q) What date was the Alabama appearance just previous to this? (A) In those periods just following the fall of Napoleon, or the moving of those into that particular land.
75. (Q) In what way has her past life touched her present grandmother, [1391]? (A) As has been indicated, in those experiences when their activities were brought together in the varied activities in the earth.
76. (Q) In what way can her grandmother, [1391], be of the greatest assistance to her in her development? (A) In warning, directing, aiding, in those things as we have given that should be warned against and those that should be impressed and carried on in the experience of the entity.
77. (Q) As she grows older, is there any particular school that it would be best for her to attend? (A) Always in those that make for the preparation of home and home building, any of these - and those that will make for the better activity in these directions are the better.
78. (Q) Is she strong enough physically to keep up all the things she has started in the way of training? (A) These if they are kept in the way they have been started are well.
1401-1 Page 8
These should make for better physical and mental development. In the music, turn to the strings rather than to those that are such a grind in the present.
79. (Q) Any particular one? (A) As indicated, the harp, the violin - which is harder. The harp is better for the entity.
80. (Q) What is her aura? (A) Purple and blue, as has been indicated. Blue is the love influence, purple the spiritual development.
81. (Q) What color, or colors, should she wear or have around her? (A) Those that are decided in their hue; those that blend to violet and to blue - these are the better. Never the drab, never too much of the red-red, but those of the more delicate hues - but decided in hue.
82. (Q) Please give her seal, and its interpretation. (A) First, not the circle but rather the outside as that of the shield (as ye call the shield, see?). In the central portion would be the Cross, not erect but as when taken down. Above in the center would be the dove - or the bird of peace. Upon either side there would be a rose, one a pink, the other salmon color. Underneath these would be rather the steps or the stairway - that would be in those colors also. The fringe about same on the outer edge would be as the vine entwined. The interpretation: That the Cross is the Way, but should be leading and not standing still. The rose represents patience as well as faith. The steps represent the building up to the home, the Cross, the Way of peace and life and understanding. The entwining vine about the shield represents faith in the preservation for truth, hope, life, as entwined about the self.
83. (Q) Was she a relative in any experience of her present grandmother, [1391]? (A) [1391] was then her daughter!
84. (Q) In which experience? (A) In the Persian (Grecian).
