Born February 28, 1882, near Hillsboro, Texas. Time of Reading 10:45 to 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Life Reading Suggestion)
1. EC: (Going back over years from present date - "1934 - '33 - What changes there have been! - 1899 - " etc., on back to birth date.)
2. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now called Doctor [1404].
3. In giving the interpretations of this record as a whole, we find the astrological aspects - which are only as innate mental urges - as a part of the experience; as well as the present experience and other experiences of the entity manifested in flesh in the earth. And these manifestations have been varied, and wide, and associations with contacts now being made in the material plane.
4. These manifest themselves (the material urges) as the sensory or the sensing of influence, the sensing of conditions or associations.
5. And as the activities of the entity have made for a high spiritual development, these become rather as manifested urges in the experience. For the entity has gained much in the material urges of a spiritual nature.
6. Hence in the interpretation may there also be given counsel, may there also be given that as to be warned of; as well as that which may be of a helpful force.
7. For to read, to interpret one's book of remembrance is to help, to become a constructive experience. For to know same is to turn to that as He, the Master, hath given: "Abide in the faith in me and I will bring to your remembrance all things from the foundations of the world."
8. Then, it becomes not only a privilege, not only an opportunity for one to look into that which has been the accomplishment of self. For it is indeed not as a mirror that reflects only that which is before same, but rather it is the mental and spiritual mirror that becomes a helpful
1404-1 Page 2
force if it is but applied in constructive ways and manners in the experience.
9. Are these then short cuts? Never!
10. For as has been given: Not in self-indulgence nor self-gratification, but let all things be done to the glory of the Father. For it is in Him that ye live and move and have thy being.
11. There are many influences and many forces, but only one SPIRIT of good. There are many entities in the inter-between, in the borderland, in the shadowland, in the developing along the way; but only one spirit of truth, which is life everlasting!
12. And know, ye are constantly meeting thyself.
13. For the way is in truth and light, and as ye journey through the experiences of life, and as the way in material things is opened by the activities of the body, whether it be physical or mental, these become then experiences that are to be applied.
14. As He gave, "Be ye fruitful, subdue the earth." Know these are all ONLY a manifestation of the divine love that ye may have at hand, ever present, that assurance that God, the Father, the Love and the Law, is ever present; and cares for thee.
15. And as ye in thy manifestations with thy fellow man do it unto the least of His children ye do it unto thy Maker.
16. For, as each is a portion of that whole in the manifestations of life, in the individual soul, let it ever then be in thy purpose, in thy aim, in thy desire, to show forth the LOVE of God that bringeth peace and harmony, and those experiences that though there be trials, temptations, disappointments in thy experience, the love of the Father as was shown in Jesus is able to keep thee; and to make thee strong in thy daily life in such measures, in such manners as to bring harmony, peace, joy. Not as the world counts any of these, but that satisfaction, that glory, that assurance and abundance within that makes thee know that thy spirit beareth witness with His Spirit that ye are indeed a child of the living God!
17. In the astrological aspects we find Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune as a part of the experiences in the interims between the material experiences.
18. Hence in the innate influences as they manifest we have these as their expressions in the mental and material life:
19. One from Venus that cherishes friendships, yet has oft found disappointments; but more from those of whom duties or obligations might have from the material angle been expected. But these are judged then, if they are
1404-1 Page 3
disappointments, by the material law - rather than the spiritual law.
20. For no contact, no acquaintance, no friend, no - not even a foe or a passing acquaintance is without purpose in same.
21. For, as ye live, as ye make manifestations, ye show in thy daily life who is thy Master, who walketh with thee. Do ye show forth sorrow, do ye show forth grudges, do ye show forth little petty hatreds? These are not - as ye know - of the spirit of truth; they are those things that bring sorrow, sadness, disappointments, shadows of the evil things.
22. But with the smile of faith, with the reckoning of patience, with that ability to make for the attitude of "Lord, bless them" even in their waywardness, and let them be a channel in their meeting, in their association, to make the love of God more manifest in their lives. That attitude should be. That is being like Him, who is able to keep thee against any experience that may come to pass in thy physical, thy mental, thy spiritual life.
23. For He IS life, He IS the Maker, the Creator. For without Him there was not anything made that was made, and He stands at the door of EVERY heart, seeking to enter that He may bring healing of body, of mind, of soul.
24. Then, thy job is to walk oft with Him, that ye - too - may encourage others to open their heart, their mind, that He may bring that peace, that spiritual and mental comfort that is life itself.
25. In Mercury is indicated the high mental activities of the entity. Do not let thy reason overshadow or be in the way of love. For love thinketh no evil, believeth no evil; it is not puffed up, it is kind, it is gentle, it is patient. And Mind being the Builder, do not stand too oft upon thy privileges but rather humble thyself that ye may save the more, that ye may bring to the consciousness of others that love that is so near at hand, and that only those who have turned their face the other way do not see or comprehend.
26. But He still stands, for He loveth every one, and hath not willed that any soul should perish but hath with every temptation and every trial prepared a way, a means of escape. And only those who in their own selfishness, their own egotism, their own waywardness, find not the way.
27. But those that seek find. They that open, He enters in. They that knock, He heareth their cry. For as He has said, "Though ye wander far away, though ye make thy bed in hell, I am there - and if ye will call I will hear - and if ye
1404-1 Page 4
will be my children I will be thy God."
28. What greater message, what greater faith, what greater hope can there be builded than to know just this; that God in Jesus cares, and is willing, even with all thy waywardness, to comfort, to cheer, to bring peace out of storm, to quiet the tempest of thy mind, to quiet the fears of thy body, to quiet the spirit of thyself that is a portion of God and that ye overcrowd so oft with the cares of the flesh that ye crowd its influence out of thy life!
29. Ye starve it, that may feed the thousands, that may feed thyself!
30. For He is indeed the way of life, indeed the bread of life!
31. In those influences in Jupiter we find the dealing with great numbers, as indicated in the abilities of self to give expression in thy writings; those things that may make for such a condition in the minds of others that they, too, may stop and think; they, too, may meditate upon God's way with men.
32. The way is so simple, the way is so easy that man makes it hard by grudging the moments of honor to the lowly Nazarene!
33. In Saturn we find, as indicated in the many changes that have come into the experience of the entity, even in this particular sphere or plane. For it is the now and how to use it that may be constructive in thine experience. But so many phases of life's experiences, so many of the cares of individuals, so many of the cares of the many, in the various walks of life! They that have not known even the conveniences, they that have not known the cares, and they that are in places of power - those that are in exalted positions politically, socially, economically - all of these are a part of the entity's experience.
34. But know ever, know ever, that it is the leaven of the Lord that maketh these one! For the Lord thy God is not a respecter of persons, not a respecter of positions, but giveth to all! For the rain, the sun, those things that ye see are the common good of all. But He loveth, He keepeth those that love, protect, direct, His children.
35. As to the appearances in the earth, these as we find, as indicated, have been under many varied experiences, many varied activities.
36. Before this (these are not all, to be sure, but those that may be the more helpful, those that may be the most encouraging, those that may be most in its place of activity in the experiences in this present sojourn) we find the entity was in the earth during those periods when there were
1404-1 Page 5
new settlers coming into the land, and when there were those that were close in those activities of the material conditions that made for an active force in the settlings in the land.
37. It was when a ship was fitted (for the entity was English) by those that brought wives, companions, associates for those who had left all and had grown up in the land.
38. The entity was one of those with one rapscallion, one Bainbridge, that came into the land.
39. Then the entity settled in that portion of the land about what is now Jamestown and Williamsburg. For the entity was chosen by one who was among the tobacco growers in that particular experience, and brought to those peoples much that was of a building experience.
40. For the entity led in those things that made conditions more healthy, making for cleanliness in the home, making for the considering of the home with the material activities; and brought again the application of the spiritual laws in the mental and material life.
41. Hence those associations and activities of the entity then, as one Elizabeth Harden, made for a mental, a material and a spiritual development.
42. While its individual associations with those who were responsible for bringing the entity into the land brought some disappointments, some hardships, in the present there are the abilities to heal the mentally afflicted, the abilities to cleanse the minds of those things that have cast shadows, those things that have produced depressing influences.
43. In these the entity may, with the great influence and force of the how and the why in Him that is truth and light and faith, even as then, overcome much that may bring material conditions that are sure, may bring mental peace and aid to self and the comfort and aid to others, in applying just those experiences in the now.
44. Before that we find the entity was in the French land, during those periods when there were the activities pertaining to the entering of others into service for holy causes, holy purposes, and much that had to do with the misinterpretations of the activities of the church or the spiritual life with the home; during those periods of the Crusades.
45. These brought trying times, these brought those experiences of sorrow. These brought the associations that so oft have in the present experience become as stumblingblocks owing to the friendships that to the entity should exist.
1404-1 Page 6
46. But know that life is a continuous experience, and what the will of an entity or soul does with and about same makes for developments or retardments.
47. In the experience then the name was Charlene, and the entity spiritually gained. In the activities of the development of the spiritual self, gained; yet in the ability to draw conclusions from material activities from the expressions of others, there has been and is still a problem. Judge spiritual things in spiritual light. Judge ye not but rather as ye would have measured, as ye would have grace shown thee, show that to those even that have misconstrued, misinterpreted thine activities in the present.
48. Before that we find the entity was in the "city in the hills and in the plains" in the Persian or Arabian land, when through those teachings many were healed in body and mind of one Uhjltd.
49. The entity there joined from the household of the King, for the entity was a companion of the wife of the King Croesus - or a Croesus - at that particular period.
50. Yet the entity became the greater of the teachers, of the healers, of the recorders for that teacher in the "city in the hills and in the plains."
51. Hence the abilities for writing, the abilities for depicting to others the mental and the spiritual activity, that leads to conclusions in the lives of others, become a part of the entity's development in this experience.
52. Hence while there should be the continued efforts, and more and more of the abilities to analyze the lives, the emotions, the influences in peoples' lives, these should be more and more recorded and become a part of the activity in supplying articles to publications that make specialties of aiding others to interpret their lives.
53. The name then was Shumen.
54. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods when there were the turmoils and the strifes between the Natives and the King, between those of the household of the King and those of the people entering from the Atlantean land.
55. But during those periods when there was the reestablishing of the Priest and those interpretations of many lands correlated, the entity then - as Is-It-Buel (as would be called in the present) - aided those not only in the Temple of Sacrifice but in the Temple Beautiful, and also in the hospitalizations and the interpretations of things in their mental relationships to those that had through sacrifice rid themselves of those things that were
1404-1 Page 7
still as appendages, still those materializations of matter as associated with the physical body.
56. Hence in thy analysis, and in thy interpretations to those who have allowed themselves to be overcome or obsessed with ideas, or allowed the influences of those that are weak in the borderland to enter in, shed these much - in the way of putting truth in the place of error, putting love in the place of hate, putting faith in the place of fear, putting patience and tolerance in the place of those things that make afraid.
57. And these flow ONLY from the spirit of truth.
58. These then are the purposes, these then are the lives of this entity; and these applied in the daily experiences will not only bring a life of joy, an experience worth while, but will grow and grow to that heavenly understanding from which all may gain a peace and harmony.
59. Ready for questions.
60. (Q) Just what particular phase of my work should be stressed in order that I may have greater success with my patients? (A) As has just been indicated. Analyses and how they are applied.
61. (Q) Just how can I carry on my work so as to bring financial security? (A) In the ways as has been indicated; for that ye give, that ye have. And as you give more and more He that is the life, the hope of the world, the fruits will come. For the silver and the gold, and the cattle upon a thousand hills are His. As ye in thy service then merit the use, the lending of these to thy activities, ye have thy assurance of material security. Rather grow more and more in that attitude of "Lord, here am I - use me as thou seest fit. Thou knowest the cares, Thou knowest the things that make afraid. Cleanse me, that I may be the greater channel of blessings to others in this experience. Supply Thou the hand; as Thou didst feed the thousands, so keep me, O God, in the right ways!" Grow in that, depend upon that; for all of these are ONLY the true way.
62. (Q) How may I acquire emotional and mental assurance of the continuity of life and the oneness of all? (A) Just as has been indicated. "Abide in me and I in you, that I may bring to your remembrance ALL things from the foundations of the world." Not of the earth alone. For He IS the life, and as we meditate, as we open our hearts, our minds to those truths that are so much a part of that awareness, as He hath given, "I will not leave thee
1404-1 Page 8
comfortless, but will come and ABIDE with thee," if ye will but seek and ask. There is no greater assurance, and it - that assurance - has kept, does keep the earth, the worlds, in motion today.
63. (Q) Just what has been my past associations with the following and how may I work out the best possible relationship with each now? First, Sister [...]? (A) These all, as we find, have been touched upon. As has been indicated, analyze the lives of each of these; that which has been and is the motivating influence in their activities. Some you will find have been in this or that experience in the earth, and in the study of thine own ye will know, from thine analysis of the motives, under which sphere or which experience each of these belongs. Then knowing that which is the Truth and the Way and the Light and the Life, ye may give to each of them - not seek what they may give to thee, but what ye may give to them; that thy ways and their ways may become more and more as one with the Lord.
