At home of [...] Time of Reading on highway near 12:00 to 12:25 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. C.C.C Camp, Bethany, Mo. (Physical Suggestion - You will please describe what improvement has occurred in this body since the last Reading, and indicate in detail what changes should be made in the treatment and diet now being followed, and answer the questions.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
2. As we find, while improvements are somewhat slow, they are definite; and there is less inflammation at the entrance of the duodenum, also in the area where there is the emptying into the jejunum.
3. There is less activity in the colon; hence it is necessary that there be the enemas that there may be established better peristaltic movement through the lower jejunum and through the caecum area.
4. There is less temperature and more strength, and the periods of strength as we find last much longer and the periods of disturbance in the affected area last much less. And these as we find indicate the better improvements, as well as a more optimistic outlook by the body.
5. Hence as we find, there needs to be precautionary measures, and with a continuation of these:
6. First, we would continue with the manipulative or osteopathic methods. These we find have been very good.
7. We would continue occasionally, but not quite so often, with the Grape Poultices; and allow the deep or a little thicker poultice to stay a little longer, or until it has grown warm - quite warm, or body temperature, see?
8. Then as for the massages and the activities:
9. As indicated, use the high irrigation occasionally; of course, not too often as to cause anxiety, and use a Fountain Syringe rather than a pump apparatus or one carrying too great a quantity of fluid or water. About a quart and a half would be the proper amount, and in the
1419-3 Page 2
quart and a half of water - body temperature - put a heaping teaspoonful of table salt and a level teaspoonful of baking soda. Dissolve this very thoroughly.
10. Then after the enema, use in another quart of water a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline. This will purify and also remove some of those disturbances in areas in the colon that have been a contributory cause to the general condition.
11. We would exercise by raising the lower limbs as high as possible, much as one would in pedaling a bicycle. This done a few minutes each day will be most helpful, not only to the osteopathic massages but to the oil massages.
12. Use the Olive Oil massage over the abdominal area, coming up to those areas across the diaphragm - just what the body will absorb; but take at least fifteen to twenty to thirty minutes to give the treatment; gentle massaging, not too severe.
13. As to the DIET:
14. The beef juice and the liver extract - these should preferably be given not so much at meal time as between meals; and if a tablespoonful of each is taken during each day, this should be sufficient - but sipped when taken; to be sure, seasoned to taste.
15. In the taking of milk, preferably use the dry milk, or the concentrated or hydrated milk - which is preferable as we find to raw milk; and this may be taken at the meal time.
16. We would also use the baby foods, as Gerber's - beets, carrots, beans, spinach and the like. Not too much, but these taken at the noon and evening meal.
17. Mornings - take the crushed fruit juices; preferably, as we find, the same character of grape juice, fresh, that is used as the poultice - for these properties would work better than citrus fruit juices.
18. However, the combination of orange and lemon is preferable to either alone - these may be taken occasionally.
19. Coddled egg - this practically only the yolk, however, in the beginning. Take very easily; that is, not too much at the time. This would be taken, of course, preferably of a morning.
20. Cocoa or Ovaltine may also be taken.
21. These we find are the activities for this body for the present.
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) What quantity of the Gerber's vegetables may be taken at a time? (A) Ounce to two ounces. Alter these or combine several of them, see?
1419-3 Page 3
24. (Q) Are raw eggs advisable for this body now or later? (A) Not as we find, in the present. While some parts would be very well, the acidity produced by same would not be so well. An excellent drink for the body would be the American Saffron Tea, and Elm Water. The Elm Water, however, would be necessarily made at the time it is taken.
25. (Q) Just what proportions? (A) Pinch between thumb and forefinger in a glass of water. This used as part of the drinking water. The Saffron Tea - teaspoonful to a pint, and this allowed to simmer as making tea, or to just brew as tea. This, of course, may be made a pint at a time, but of course not a whole pint taken at once - this would be taken occasionally, not regularly.
26. (Q) Are deep breathing exercises advisable for this body now or later? (A) These necessarily would be a part of the exercise, if the bicycle exercise is attempted. These naturally require deep breathing. This should be gone at very slowly, not too fast. If only one kick is obtained the first time, it will be well. Then after the next day, maybe two can be gotten, or maybe three. See?
27. (Q) When preparing a morning drink of hot water, lemon juice, and salt, what proportions should be used? (A) These as we find are not so well as would be the Saffron - hot.
28. (Q) In the exercise, would lying on the back and pulling the knees toward the chin help to restore stomach and intestines to their normal position? (A) This is very good, and if carried a bit farther - as indicated - would be better. This may be as much as the body may be able to take for a few days, but gradually more and more stand on END, as it were - that is, with the feet in the air.
29. (Q) How often may the eggs be taken? (A) This would be judged by the appetite. Should be able to be taken once a day; that is, mornings.
30. (Q) Would spinach juice be a suitable food for this body? (A) This is a portion of the Gerber preparations. We would prefer the Gerber to the others, for there are less preservatives that would be harmful to such conditions. These are baby foods, but these are the character needed for such a disturbed digestive force. Combine several of these.
31. (Q) Should fruit juice be taken in large quantities as the body becomes stronger, or in small quantities with other foods?
1419-3 Page 4
(A) It may be taken a little more and a little more, but SIPPED instead of gulped in swallows!
32. (Q) Is fresh grape juice a better food for this body than orange juice? (A) As indicated, the orange mixed with lemon is preferable to either separate. These may be altered with grape juice if preferred.
33. (Q) About how soon should additional information be sought? (A) This would depend upon the improvement. In ten days or two weeks there may be given further improvements or changes, if there are the improvements as indicated that are being brought about.
34. (Q) Any further suggestions? (A) Do these for the present.
