R E A D I N G
Time of Reading 3:25 to 3:35 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Virginia.
1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [1446]; this we have had before.
3. Many changes have come in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here.
4. In the present, there has arisen rather an acute condition, from cold, congestion AND some strain; thus producing a spasmodic reaction in the lobe of the liver, the gall duct area AND the lower end of the duodenum.
5. Thus we find a form of gall duct colic; not stone, but gall duct colic.
6. This produces severe pain, at times some nausea and a general pulling as from the upper portion of the stomach downward.
7. We find that this may be allayed, and the sediment and lack of proper drainage here may be alleviated.
8. Begin, and for at least three hours apply a Castor Oil Pack; using at least three to four thicknesses of flannel well saturated in hot Castor Oil, not just poured on, and this warm, and then apply heat. Do this for three hours each day, oftener if the pain continues, for three days. Apply the Pack over that area from the pit of the stomach, across to the right side and down below the liver area, see?
9. After the third day, not at the time of the third application of the Packs, but some hours after the third day of application, take internally at least half a teacup of Olive Oil.
10. Then rest one day, or while the oil is active.
11. Then AGAIN apply the Castor Oil Packs for at least an hour each day for three days, but keep off the feet as much as possible during the time.
12. Again, after the third day, take internally the Olive Oil.

13. THEN - after the second period of using the Packs for three days - have an osteopathic relaxing treatment, for the adjustments through especially the upper dorsal and cervical area; such a treatment for stimulating the elimination through the duodenum and activity through the jejunum.
14. After the second three-day period of the Packs, and following at least one good, thorough osteopathic treatment (though not on the same day the osteopathic treatment is given), we find that it would be well to have a high colonic. This should be given scientifically, however, and not be attempted by using a colon tube at home; rather have a colonic irrigation, for this will relieve much of tension through the body and cleanse the alimentary canal.
15. At the same time it would also be well to have a full hydrotherapy treatment, with a cabinet sweat; though do not raise the temperature too much in dry heat on account of the effect upon the heart AND the general circulation, but sufficient to set up the perspiratory activity; having afterwards a thorough massage and rubdown. This should come AFTER the colonic, you see.
16. The water for such colonic irrigation should be body temperature, and should contain salt and soda - in the proportions of a level teaspoonful of baking soda and a heaping teaspoonful of table salt dissolved thoroughly in each quart of water injected. The last water used, for rinsing, should contain Glyco-Thymoline as an antiseptic - in the proportions of a tablespoonful to each quart of body temperature water injected. These will NOT cause weakness nor too great a strain on the body, if given in this manner.
17. Beware of taking too much heavy foods, or fats of ANY nature, during this period - and for some weeks after the trouble is removed.
18. Do these, and as we find the disturbance should be relieved; it will be seen that - if these are done as outlined - the gall duct will be drained.
19. Ready for questions.
20. (Q) Is this condition causing the aching in right shoulder, also the hurting between the breastbones, that runs to the right shoulder cutting off the breath? (A) As indicated, this is the general strain upon the system.
