1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1467], present in this room:

2. Now as we find, while conditions are very good in many respects, there are those hindrances and disturbances the correction of which in the present would not only prevent greater disturbances later on but would relieve the body of those tendencies that give disturbing influences in the body from time to time.

3. And these without correction will become constitutional conditions, or the system will adjust itself to the improper reactions and thus make for those things that will be harder to eliminate later on.

4. These as we find have to do with conditions in the cerebrospinal nervous system and their activity upon plexus and ganglia from which portions of the system receive the impulse for activity.

5. Then these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1467] we are speaking of, present in this room; first:

6. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, here we find there are indications of deflection in portions of the system of the proper supply and removal of used energies or forces from those portions of the system.

7. Hence the refuse forces or drosses are building or backing up in the system, as it were, so as to produce gradually more and more disturbance unless the eliminating of the causes is brought into activity.

8. These conditions are indicated in the superficial circulation in face, head, and especially at times in the scalp.

9. However, we find in other portions a deflection; as through the vagus center, that causes disturbance to the organs in the sensory system, and at times producing to the

1467-1 Page 2

auditory forces - or the ears - not that which hinders the hearing but that which produces rather a humming or a drumming or a buzzing, varying according to the amount of pressure that is produced in this deflection of the circulation through those portions of the system. Hence the hearing may become affected unless the condition is corrected.

10. These as we find arise from conditions that were received from a shock to the cerebrospinal nervous system; an outside influence, accident or injury. [See 1467-1, Par. R1.]

11. Though not showing at the time, other than superficial disturbances, specific disturbances were produced in portions of the cerebrospinal system; as indicated in the coccyx end of the spine, the 4th lumbar in the axis to the sacral area and a CONGESTION gradually forming in the plexus in the area about the prostates - that will unless removed cause greater disturbance in that portion of the body; the ileac [iliac] plexus becoming partially involved.

12. Of course, there would be an alignment throughout the spinal system; but in the upper dorsal area, the 1st and 2nd dorsal, and naturally throughout the cervical area, we find engorgements in ganglia that affect the circulation.

13. These reactions do we find. The pressures from the upper dorsal and the cervical affect the circulation to the head, the throat and ESPECIALLY through the whole of the vagus area - or from the 3rd dorsal to the 2nd and 3rd cervical. These make for a superficial reaction that clogs the system. In the lower lumbar and through the coccyx area we find pressures that make for this heaviness through the pelvis area; making for the distresses as produced in the left limb as well as to the feet and the portions under the knee and the calf of the leg at times, even to the sciatic center just below those portions of the plexus at the areas adjoining to the ileum and the axis plexus. These are then the superficial or structural reactions. Their effect upon the nervous system is to produce, as indicated, a deflection of the proper flow of circulation to portions of the body.

14. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, THEN, we have a numbness, a deadness at times; an easily tiring to the body.

15. In the deflection between the superficial or the vegetative or sympathetic nervous system and the deeper or the cerebrospinal, at those portions where the areas are the more affected is where the centers of the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic COORDINATE the greater in the trunk portion of connections; as indicated in the lumbar axis, the coccyx end of the spine, and those close to the brachial or the

1467-1 Page 3

first of the dorsal areas.

16. THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, as to the effect upon these, and the directing of the activities of same, we find:

17. Brain forces are active; though the pressures in portions of same make for that deflection at times such that the body becomes greatly magnified as to imaginative forces.

18. This does not mean mental aberrations nor mental disturbances, but the ABNORMAL reaction produces the magnifying of the imaginative forces to the system.

19. Removing of these will remove many of those tendencies, and give the body a different outlook upon life, especially as related to associations and activities.

20. In the effect to the superficial circulation, we find at times in the face a tendency for a twitching, or the tendency for the scalp activity to become irritated easily by rubbing, scratching, or the irritation becomes that which produces lacerations following same, by the great AMOUNT of flow to the superficial portions of same.

21. In the activities to the throat, the bronchi, the lungs, the larynx, or all of the mucous membrane circulation, we find that the nasal passages at times become easily choked from the lack of the circulation to throw off this refuse; or the mucous membranes become inflamed. And the phlegm becomes rather hardened in throat as well as in nasal passages. There is a fullness or a feeling of burning at times; not only when there is cold but when there is the least bit of disturbance by physical or mental activity.

22. Hence the body becomes confused as it were in its reaction. This is then called the effect of the pressures that produce those conditions which exercise such an activity upon the sympathetic or the emotional nature of the body.

23. Through the bronchi and larynx we find very good reaction at times, though from the deflection through the vegetative forces the body easily becomes superacid; and thus cold or congestion will affect the throat and upper bronchi, though at times when there is such an activity as to cause this flow to enter through the gastric activity we may have and do have congestion across the diaphragm area.

24. Thus disturbances are caused throughout the whole of the eliminations of the bodily forces themselves. The activity to the heart and to the liver and to the spleen and its circulation becomes overtaxed, and temperature may even arise, the blood pressure may even appear to be abnormal - though it may vary considerably under the different activities.

25. The liver, the spleen, the pancreas and the activity of

1467-1 Page 4

the digestive system are near good save when the disturbances through the circulation in other portions of the system produce or bring about a disturbing nature to the bodily forces themselves.

26. Through the activities of the organs of the pelvis, or the genital organs, as we have indicated there is a pressure in the coccyx area that will need not only straightening but raising, to prevent the activity or pressure upon the prostate gland activity; to prevent that burning sensation that arises from the excess of the activity of the kidneys in attempting to alleviate or to remove the superacidity and the uric acid from the system - the burning through those areas of the urethra itself.

27. This is then a pressure and a nerve condition, NOT AN ORGANIC CONDITION but a FUNCTIONAL, produced by pressures in the area from injuries received externally.

28. In the activities through the lower digestive system we find naturally the excesses of refuse forces by the disturbed circulation. These produce a hardship both upon the upper and the lower portion of the hepatic circulation.

29. But with the correction of those segmentations, or subluxations in the segments of the cerebrospinal system, we will find the relieving of the conditions throughout the body.

30. This will necessitate that there would be taken properties internally, as these corrections progress in their application, that will produce rather the inclination for an excess of eliminations for the body.

31. For this PARTICULAR body, then, we would use the Toris Compound (though this is advertised for rheumatic conditions, or an excess of the uric acid). We would not take this regularly, but during those periods when the osteopathic manipulations are taken, and the adjustments and corrective measures. In other words, take it for three days, leave off three to five days, then take again; that is, a dessertspoonful morning and evening. The Toris Compound would be prepared with the Spirits Frumenti (Whiskey), NOT with the Simple Syrup alone. Use half the quantity of Simple Syrup, the full quantity of the Spirits Frumenti, to the ounce of the Toris Compound. The morning dose would be before breakfast, the evening dose just before retiring.

32. Make the adjustments gradually. This would require then a period of, say, two to three weeks of treatment; twice or three times a week; then a rest period from same of two weeks; then another period; and we will find the conditions improving throughout.

33. For the conditions in the scalp, use an alcohol shampoo and White Vaseline. Massage the scalp with White Vaseline, then wash out with a solution of alcohol in the proportion of twenty drops (grain alcohol) to forty drops of water. This will tend to dry the scalp. Hence, after it is washed out, massage the scalp with a small quantity of Cuticura Ointment. This will not only heal but will produce a growth of hair and remove all of that tendency for the scalp to crawl or creep. But the CAUSE is eliminated by the adjustments.

34. Do that. Ready for questions.

35. (Q) Is there anything wrong with my eyes? (A) Nothing other than the deflection through those areas indicated that affect the auditory forces, and naturally the optics; because these come under the same direction as the whole of the sensory system. And with the adjustments, with the increased circulation being coordinated, we will find these will clear.

36. (Q) Will treatments just outlined for scalp also prevent falling hair? (A) Will prevent the falling out, and as just indicated will not only do that but will produce an abundant growth.

37. (Q) What causes me to twist my shoulder and neck unconsciously at times? (A) As indicated, this is from pressures in not only the coccyx end but the superficial pressure also in the upper dorsal area.

38. (Q) Is there anything wrong with my sex glands; if so, how may it be corrected? (A) As indicated, by removing the pressures in the coccyx we will remove that irritation produced in the prostate and ileum plexus area. Do as has been given, and we will bring the normal conditions for this body.
