Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Virginia.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [1467], present in this room, together with his present employment, the collection of his back pay from ... Grocery Co. and the clarifying of the present condition that has arisen regarding same, the present world conditions, the investment of his money in a house. You will go into these thoroughly and give definite information and advice that may be easily understood by the body at this time; answering the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [1467]; together with the general conditions in the world as well as the personal relationships of the entity and its activities.

3. In considering all of these, many things that have been indicated should be taken into consideration. Owing to the circumstance that exists in the present in the present employment and activity, those disturbing forces that have been and are a part of the body - as has been suggested, - there can be, should be, changes made in the relationships in the present.

4. And as we find, the body is well qualified in more than one field of activity.

5. Then, there are those that to the body in its relationship appeals more than others; either of the metal work, the painting, or even woodwork. All of these have their good points and their bad points. But as we find, as may be considered, that as would have to do with the sheet metals may be the more in keeping with the desires of the body. Yet any of these, either in paint, sheet metals, metals, or in woodwork, may the body in the present better itself in connection with naval or navy activities. And through the regular channels, if applications are made, there may be connections made. And these, particularly in the sheet metal, may be in keeping with that the body would desire to continue in future activities of the body, when changes are made. At least it would give the body the

1467-16 Page 2

opportunity to prepare itself for its establishing of its own shop, that might include ALL phases of those activities in which the body is qualified for making successes of same.

6. Thus, the entity should choose which phase. But as we find, there will be - and there are the needs in the present - more in the sheet metal activities.

7. In consideration as to the collections - as indicated, while this is due the body, that precautions have been taken by those that are due same should not by right make any differences in their ability nor in the adjustments of the claim.

8. Hence, as we find, it would be the better for the body to meet those personally whom the activities of the Interstate Commerce have indicated are the channels through which to proceed, but at least have a personal interview before this is given up.

9. There are questions, to be sure, owing to the manner in which the names and trade names have been changed, as to indicate how that all those things that were as liabilities have been given a time for their being outlawed. And this, as indicated, is soon to be up. So, if such is to be considered in the present, this should be attended to at once.

10. As to the investments - choose ANY area where there are the better possibilities, and where there is the better probability of same being used in the defense plans; that is, any area or community where there are the needs of such. Though the place, the home or house, may not be in the best of conditions, the body has the ability to direct and to make the necessary improvements, and the priority would be given. Do not let the improvements exceed, of course - or the necessity for improvements - more than the three, to four to five hundred dollars. But better propositions may be obtained where such conditions exist.

11. These as we find are considerations for the body in the present.

12. In the general health of the body - keep in those corrections and directions that have been indicated. While they have been begun, don't lose interest in them, or don't just do it to be gotten through with. Expect and act in the ways that will bring to the body the benefits, spiritually, mentally and materially.

13. And keep the mental attitude and activities in the creative directions; as in that which has been indicated. Know that ye cannot live alone. Others are not only dependent upon you, you are dependent upon others - in every phase of thy experience. For ye are a part of the whole

experience, and ye add to or detract, according to thy own attitude.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) Please give the name of the defense plant in which I should seek employment? (A) As indicated, in the Navy.

16. (Q) What position should I apply for? (A) Which do you want to be? Woodworker or helper, or a metal worker, or a painter? As indicted, the choice here, too, must be made. As given, we find - though this must be decided by the body - there are the greater needs and the greater possibilities in sheet metal.

17. (Q) Is there a particular person that I should contact to get this position? (A) As indicated, these should go through the regular channels.

18. (Q) If it will be well for me to communicate further with either Mr. Rice or Mr. Cole, please outline just how I should present this matter to either, since there seems to be some doubt in their minds regarding this overtime pay? (A) As given, there must be - very soon - if there is to be any consideration given - PERSONAL contact with those indicated by the Commerce Commission as the one to whom this should be given. Then, give the true situations that are thine own experience.

19. (Q) Is Mr. W. C. Cole of Richmond, Va., the one I should see? (A) If he is the one designated, then he is the one. Do these things, but be in self and in the approach consistent with self, and with the purposes being sought.
