Time of Reading 3:40 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Prayer by [1472]: ETERNAL CHRIST, ENFOLD US IN THE GLOWING PURITY OF THY LIGHT AND LOVE FOR THIS READING, THAT IT MAY OPERATE IN THY HIGHEST SERVICE, AND BE FULLY PROTECTED FROM ALL NEGATIVE FORCES. IN THY KEEPING WE NOW PLACE IT WITH GRATEFUL AND HUMBLE HEARTS.)
1. HLC: You will have before you the entity, [1472] - born in Bowling Green, Va., May 5, 1880. Considering the statements in her former readings that she has always reincarnated at periods of great world crisis for the specific purpose of assisting in the spiritual enlightenment of mankind, you will give her at this time a mental and spiritual reading as related to this purpose in her present work and service. And, considering her necessity to spend the greater part of her time and abilities in her present position with ... in work which does not seem to further this purpose; and considering her experience and development; her own talents as well as the needs and opportunities in the radio field, and her service as it relates to same, you will inform and instruct her if she should seek to extend her present expression in this field now, and if so along what specific lines; with what specific type of program; and the right course to follow to insure its greatest success and service. Also considering her writing abilities and experience you will likewise guide and instruct her as to whether she should undertake any specific writing at this time; if so on what subject, and along what lines it should be done. You will then answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here; those experiences, those developments through the varied sojourns in the earth, and those conditions and problems as present themselves as a part of the entity's experience in the present.
3. In giving, then, the mental and spiritual interpretation
1472-12 Page 2
of activities that have been indicated in one or another experience of development, and making same practical, applicable in the present experience, under existent environments - these are the problems to be considered.
4. Yet, as indicated and given, in the mental and the spiritual such are never problems - merely consciousnesses, awarenesses to which the mental and spiritual attributes attune; and only in the materializing of same do they become problems, as excuses.
5. Then, in analyzing the mental and spiritual abilities, - as has been indicated - the entrance of the entity's activity in materiality has been at and through periods when there have been the needs for, the necessity of a greater expression of the God-purpose with the material, mental AND physical activities of men.
6. For, as has so oft been indicated through the promises, the proclamations, the pronouncements of the saints of old (of which the entity might justly be called one), it has ever been given that God hath not willed that any soul should perish, but hath with every temptation prepared a way, a manner of escape.
7. Thus - not as a boastfulness, but in all humbleness, - it should be realized in the mental and spiritual attributes of the entity, as well as from that gathered from the experiences through its material sojourn, that the entity's activity is a channel, a means whereby God, the Father, hath insured the carrying forward of His purposes. And to thee He hath entrusted the keeping of the way open; that others may take heart, may be encouraged, may be shown a way, a manner.
8. This then becomes the whole duty of self at this particular period or phase of man's experience in the earth.
9. When the entity views conditions - of which it is aware, as the world is aware - it realizes that there is the seeking, the search more and more being made for some light, some hope, some ASSURANCE that God is still mindful of the children of men; that though they may have wandered far afield, though they may come to those crossroads in all phases of their experience, He is ready to answer when they call.
10. Also individuals are becoming more and more aware that the greater blessings, the greater experiences, the more worth while things in their lives are those not bought with money, nor by patting the other fellow upon the back only; but with love, patience, hope, brotherly love - just being kind one to another!
11. Then, it is the job of the entity - whatever the
1472-12 Page 3
circumstance or environ may be - to bring to others whom ye meet day by day, more and more the awareness of that consciousness; that those ARE the fruits of the spirit - and that, those who masticate, those who master them in their own experience, in their relationships to their fellow men day by day, thereby BECOME conscious or aware of that love which was and is manifested in the purposes of the Christ-life in the earth, through Jesus of Galilee!
12. In the early portions of the experiences in the Egyptian land the entity brought helpful forces in the lives of those who went about choosing what manner of bodies would be the greater channels of, or for, the manifestations of spiritual truths, and for the greater mental development, that the spiritual evolution might be manifested in the earth.
13. So, as the entity applies such in its experience today, it finds that need to adhere not so much to a formula of exercise physically, or to such mental gymnastics as to expand the mental self, but to the living, thinking, BEING just patient, just kind; leaving aside those things that so easily beset, and looking to the RENEWING of a righteous purpose within; and then SO living, SO speaking, SO acting in conversation and in EVERY phase of the life.
14. For instance - the entity may speak to those who open the door of a morning - whether it be to the cage or to the street - in such a manner that the whole day is brighter because of a kindness expressed.
15. Would that men, then, EVERYWHERE, would learn such a lesson!
16. Then, in this era, this age of changes being wrought, it behooves the entity (as everyone), in its relationships in any manner, to impress upon others in every walk of life - not impelling by force, but by love - to TRY God; to listen to the voice within; to open self to the love that is manifested in gentleness and kindness, and not to the lust for power nor to what others may say, but rather keeping in that attitude which He expressed in that period of manifestation when He said, "Others may do as they may, but as for me, I will serve a LIVING God," not one far off. Not one who may not be touched by the infirmities of those who are oppressed and cry unto Him; but when ye pray, when ye cry, that prayer, that cry, must be consistent with the life that is lived in relationship to others day by day.
17. Indeed man through all periods has with one voice blessed God and with the same cursed his brother. This, as the entity understands, should not be! Yet it is such in the world today that is bringing the seeking for might and power.
1472-12 Page 4
18. As to the manners in which the entity applies those influences which it attained or gained through the periods when it again announced to the children of men the great and mighty day of the Lord being at hand - ye are coming to the realization that the fulfilling of that promise in Him is TODAY; for He IS the way, the truth and the light!
19. It is no longer, then, afar off; but lo, it is within the heart and mind of each soul - EVERYWHERE!
20. For, whosoever WILL may take of the cup of life, and drink - in such measures that the thirsting is no more for those things that put fear and dread into the hearts of the children of men.
21. For it is neither in this temple, that city, nor the other land, but in thine own heart, in thine own mind.
22. And THIS ye are to proclaim in thy service through the activities in which ye may be engaged, of whatever nature; whether as the assistant in the script for thine own broadcasts, or in that help ye may give to others.
23. Know, even as He hath given, if ye enter into the closet of thine own consciousness and THERE give that prayer, that longing, HE will reward thee openly - as He does thy brethren.
24. And as ye write, in whatever form or manner is chosen, express again and AGAIN that the day of the Lord is at hand! and that each soul, EVERYWHERE, partakes of same - in the fruits of the spirit, that are the holy gifts to every soul. For indeed, as He has given, he that gives the cup of water shall not lose his reward, Christ's reward, God's purpose.
25. So in thy ministering, in thy conversation, in thy daily activities, let these truths be CONSTANTLY impressed upon the minds of those in EVERY walk of life!
26. To the mother, as she cares for her offspring; though the trials of the material things may be heartrending, that smile, that kindly word gives hope to one who may even be burdened with the thought of how and in what manner the provisions of the day may be supplied!
27. For, know - as ye have found and have seen manifested so oft - to such as minister to those in every walk of life there comes oft those blessings as He hath indicated, see, may not the very windows of heaven be opened and a blessing poured out on such!
28. Then indeed count thyself as one blessed beyond most, that thou hast been counted worthy to be entrusted with such a message, and given the ability to express same in such beautiful messages - to the mother, to the father, to the children, to the disconsolate, to the brokenhearted, to those in every walk of life! that they, too, may catch a
1472-12 Page 5
glimpse of the love which God bestoweth upon the children of men!
29. For indeed, as thou hast experienced throughout thy sojourns in the earth, and as ye find in the present, putting behind the things that so easily beset, ye may press on to the mark of the higher calling that is set in Him.
30. And as ye give, it increaseth in thy hand, in thy deed, in thy meditation, in thy activity - everywhere.
31. Then, let thy heart take more hope. Condemn not that ye be not condemned. LOVE that ye may be loved. Show mercy that ye may have mercy shown. Show patience that ye may indeed become aware of thy relationship to Him.
32. Ready for questions.
33. (Q) What is the divine purpose for my ... radio program, and how should I proceed to secure the right sponsor, or otherwise get it on the air? Who would be the best people to approach in the matter? (A) This has just been indicated. As ye prepare same, as ye live same, do not become impatient with those because they have caught little of the vision as to the needs and as to the activities going on about them; but as ye live it, as ye manifest it, so will it come to pass. As to individuals and manners and means, press on in the various fields and manners that open before thee. Continue to give an opportunity to those of every walk of life. Those who have the products that are of the home, or for the home and the home life, are the channels; but they need educating or being reminded of such. Thus if it is necessary that such be cut, or made in very short periods, do this - too. For, remember, as the old saw goes - for one nail was the shoe lost; was the cart broken, was the sole lost. So may it be with the one word each day. How GREAT indeed may the crown of righteousness be, if there is but one pearl of great price given each day to some soul! For it will sound on and ON and ON, as it hath in thy experiences, in thy activities throughout the many sojourns.
34. (Q) Should I leave my ... program entirely in the hands of the National Broadcasting Company, or would it be advisable to also place it in the hands of the Columbia Broadcasting System? (A) As we find, this may be consistently put into the hands of both, in such a way and manner as not to be conflicting as to the sponsors that will see, will experience the blessings that may come, as the various forms are presented.
1472-12 Page 6
For, as one realizes - as the programs of the day are analyzed - there is more and more the turning to that which is a message of truth, of love, in such a manner as we have indicated is needed to be the mental and spiritual application, and for which the entity has the abilities in the present.
35. (Q) Should I allow Dr. Norman A. Rittenhouse, of Los Angeles, to continue his activities on the West Coast in behalf of this program? (A) As we find, this is not being interpreted in the correct manner; and thus it behooves the entity to make its choice respecting same in its OWN consciousness.
36. (Q) Would it be advisable for me to go ahead with the Court of Human Relations program proposed by Herbert Pettey, Director of Radio Station WHN, combining an astrological analysis with spiritual guidance in helping people work out their problems and confusions, or would it be better to have a psychologist on the program with me? If astrological, would Lawrence Martin, of Elizabeth, N.J., be the right collaborator for me to have on this program? (A) As we find this is an excellent channel, but NOT the best, or equal to the abilities of the entity. But such might be used as a stepping-stone for the GREATER abilities to find a foothold, or to form the stepway for the greater outline. If this is done, then collaboration with Martin would be the better means; for here greater spiritual concepts might be gained.
37. (Q) What is the basic cause of the hostility, antagonism, and resentment manifested toward me by [1602], and is there anything I can, or should do about it? (A) Should DO loving indifference. It arises from misunderstanding of the experiences which arose from the associations, not wholly in conjunction but - as might be termed - in collaboration, at those periods when the children were - to the material mind - persecuted. Hence there should be the attitude of no malice to any, no condemning to or towards any, but rather "Lord, forgive them, they know not what they do." Still - as indicated from the experiences of the entity in aiding one of the own household of that entity now known as [1602] - there is a duty due one who is capable of giving much at this time to a sin-sick world. Then - because of self, or of self's own feelings or
1472-12 Page 7
emotions - forget not to so live, so act, each day, that there is nothing that would condemn thee, or that others may find to condemn in thee.
38. (Q) Is that [1581]? (A) As indicated, and as indicated heretofore, much help may be given that entity in the choosing of courses to pursue.
39. (Q) Please give me all possible [as described by Flower Newhouse and of which I have a memory] information concerning my sojourn in Greece at the time of Pythagoras, or at any other time in that country. (A) This as we find was a period that is a part of the experience of the entity, and there may come at a time when a great deal of strength may be gathered from it in the present experience or activity. For the NOW, hold fast to that ye have gained thus far. Show thyself worthy. Know, as He gave oft - there are many things we would give unto thee, but thou art not wholly able to bear them now.
