1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1482].

2. Now as we find, there are many disturbing conditions. These as we find are rather a complication.

3. But if those disturbances will be corrected from which the source of infection arises, that produces this disturbance in the circulation, its activities upon the soft tissues through the system, the effect upon the muscular forces that produce an arthritic reaction, we would relieve the body of many of those disturbances that are reflexes from activities of the system under these distresses.

4. These then are conditions as we find them with this body, [1482] we are speaking of:

5. In the blood supply we find the indications of there being a source of infection, by the manner in which the effects of irritation arise, inflammation and the like through the body; incapacitating the body in the ways in which the locomotories - from both the upper and lower plexus - become involved, as well as in the manner in which those activities to the assimilating forces of the body become involved.

6. In the nerve system we find the effect of the pressures upon both the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic system so as to produce acute conditions in the muscular forces, the tendons, in extremities, as well as bringing those disturbances to the activities of the hepatic circulation - both in the upper and lower portions of same. And their reactions are to the coordination between the superficial and deep circulation; involving the superficial in the inflammatory forces that are produced there.

7. Then, it is sought to know the source of this infectious force, that disturbs the circulation, blood supply and the nerve forces of the body.

8. We find that in times back there have been those needs for extreme measures to be used in not only the activity of

1482-1 Page 2

the digestive forces and the eliminations, and the activities through the caecum, but in the bodily functions themselves by accumulations in the system.

9. Here we find then adhesions through those areas about the lacteal ducts, those in the caecum and the affectations as arise in the system from same through the activities of the organs of the pelvic system.

10. These as we find are the sources then of the infectious force, and their reaction to the bodily functions indicate and bring about those disturbances that have been indicated that are apparent.

11. While those reflexes from the activity of the impulses in brain forces are very good, there are those periods when the nerve system suffers, owing to those pressures produced in ganglia along the cerebrospinal system to the general activity of the body.

12. This becomes then those forces or those activities that produce an arthritic reaction in the extremities as well as the deeper portions of the body, producing the inflammatory forces in the lymph and emunctory activities of the body.

13. In the throat, bronchi, lungs and larynx:

14. As the soft tissue or the lymph is involved, soft tissue becomes involved sympathetically - as has been indicated - through head, throat, and at other times in nasal passages, even affecting the organs of the sensory system in sympathetic ways and manners.

15. In the lung activity or the circulation through same: While the activities are clear in the main, the excess of inflammation prevents a full reaction or purifying of the system by the very oxidization of the blood stream as flows through same.

16. Hence heaviness here occurs at times; not always, but a heaviness that becomes as shortness of breath, as a change in the pulsation of the heart's activity owing to the manner of the flow; though not an organic, not even a functional condition - save as from a reflex reaction in same.

17. In the digestive forces of the body, these we find become involved greater than in other portions owing to the affectation or a portion of the source of infection arising from the lacteal areas or that area about the gall duct and the entrance of food forces or assimilated forces to the drosses of the system, or through the jejunum or the emptying of the duodenum to other portions of the body, in the eliminations.

18. These all are as conditions that are involved, of course sympathetically. And as has been indicated, if the sources are removed - the causes of the infectious forces that

1482-1 Page 3

produce the greater disturbance, we would find the system adjusting itself in such measures and manners as to relieve the disturbance and to bring about near normal forces for this body, [1482].

19. In making applications then, as we would find:

20. While there might be accomplished the overcoming of these through producing an effectual activity of such electrical vibrations to the body as to relax same, we find that these are involved in minutia or the lymph and the emunctory forces, through those areas of the digestive system such that we would unbalance the activity of the hepatic circulation as is involved, by those very indications of the disturbance in the liver and the kidneys - in relation to eliminations from the system.

21. Hence these as we find are those ways or manners in which this may be better accomplished:

22. First we would have at least three Epsom Salts Baths, but these far apart - that is, at least a day apart or between. Use twenty-five to fifty gallons of water - that is, twenty-five pounds of the Epsom Salts to fifty gallons of water - those proportions. Have the water as hot as the body may remain in same, and this kept hot until the body is thoroughly, THOROUGHLY, relaxed. Remain in same for twenty to thirty minutes, and then the thorough, THOROUGH, rubdown. Of course, this should be in rooms where the body-temperature is kept for the activities. Then the body massaged thoroughly, preferably as by a Swedish masseuse or the like.

23. Following this massage, or in the latter portion of same, apply an equal combination of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh; beginning at the 1st and 2nd cervical, going along the spine, surely under the arms, across portions of the lower part of the chest, through those areas about the diaphragm, thoroughly over the abdomen, through those areas about the lower dorsal and lumbar and sacrals, and around each of the limbs; this THOROUGHLY massaged into the system.

24. Then the body should be wrapped in hot or very warm blankets, or blankets kept warm by a low heat to make for the better perspiration and the coordinating between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal activity.

25. These activities should last then for three to four hours in such a heat, in such a treatment or application.

26. Following such an Epsom Salts Bath, or beginning immediately also, we would begin with using for thirty minutes each day the low electrical vibrations from the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Chloride of Gold into the system - the proportions of three grains of the Chloride of Gold to

1482-1 Page 4

an ounce of Distilled Water. The attachments would be made as follows:

27. One day the small anode would be attached first, to the 9th dorsal center; while the larger anode - through which the Solution passes - would be attached last, to the umbilicus and lacteal duct plexus, or four fingers from the umbilicus or navel center towards the right side in a direct line.

28. The next day the smaller anode would be attached first, to the 4th lumbar; while the larger anode - through which the Solution passes - would be attached last, to the umbilicus and lacteal duct plexus, etc.

29. Continue alternating the applications in this manner each day.

30. After the second day take AGAIN another Epsom Salts Bath, another rub, etc.

31. Keep the body warm at all times. Keep the body quiet.

32. After three days, then, take another Epsom Salts Bath.

33. And with the keeping up of the electrical forces through the low form of vibration, we would also then begin with the general application OSTEOPATHICALLY for the distribution through the system of those influences produced upon not only the glandular system but the creative energies for the relaxing of the body.

34. Then with keeping all of these as indicated, we should within ten to twenty days find the body near normal.

35. In the matter of the diets: As has been indicated for the body, naturally the diet is an important factor in the effect produced upon the assimilating forces of the body itself. Keep away from great quantities of starches. Take those things where the activities for the system - as of the pancreas, the spleen, the liver activities - become as a greater portion of the activities to produce desired or effective activity in glandular reaction.

36. Hence we would find that liquids and semi-liquids, but of a very strengthening character, would be a portion of the diet.

37. And especially the Jerusalem artichoke should be a portion of the diet at least once or twice a week. Also pieplant should be a portion, as also the fruits; for these salts contained in such foods should be such as to produce for the system an activity upon the bodily functions in these directions.

38. And then the GENERAL application, of course, of vegetables and fruits as a portion of the diet.

39. Do these, as WE find, to bring the better forces for this body, [1482].

40. Ready for questions.

41. (Q) What meats can the body eat? (A) As indicated, these must rather be in the form of liquids - as beef juices; the wild game in stews or the like. But fish, fowl, lamb. And ONLY beef JUICE; this is very strengthening if made or prepared properly - and this should always be sipped, not gulped.

42. (Q) Will arm use be restored to normal? (A) Not only arm use but the lower limbs as well as those conditions in the side also.

43. (Q) What is condition of teeth? (A) Local attention is needed; and these as we find, with the other treatments, will make for better conditions of the gum and the soft tissue of the head and face.

44. (Q) What is condition around the appendix? (A) As has been indicated.

45. (Q) What should the weight be? (A) RATHER would there be kept the normal balance, and let this care for itself. It is NOT normal, but with the proper applications, proper food, proper relations from activities, this would become near normal.

46. (Q) Can this body marry and be assured of physical ability to carry it through? (A) When these corrections are made, yes. For as has been indicated, we should find that in a very few weeks normalcy in most every manner may be the experience of the body; and such relationships would be beneficial for the body.

47. (Q) Would she be able to have children with safety? (A) This will depend upon much the reactions brought about in the system. This might not be prognosticated here under the present conditions. If those things as have been indicated are done, SYSTEMATICALLY AND CONSISTENTLY, yes. But if these are to be dependent upon results in other manners, it may not be given from here.

48. (Q) She has in her mind [2477], a very good friend. Would she be happy with him? (A) Why not? Their likes, their dislikes, their vibrations are very much in accord.

49. (Q) When can this take place for the best interests of both parties? (A) When this body is normal and well again.

50. (Q) Where can the treatments be given best? (A) By a masseuse or nurse, where she is.

51. (Q) Any exercise to take, along? (A) This would come after the removal of the causes; and as the manipulations would be begun of a general nature, osteopathically, this would become naturally a part of the

1482-1 Page 6

activity of the body.

52. (Q) What osteopath in ... would be best fitted to handle this? (A) Any that is sincere and honest, and that may be approached in the manner as has been indicated from the information here. Do these things, and as we find we will bring normalcy or near to normalcy for this body, [1482].
