Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Tennessee. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes.

2. As we find, conditions may become very serious unless measures are taken with this body to make the corrections of the causes for the high nervous tension - as related to the coordinating of the functioning of the EMOTIONAL forces of the body with the brain and cerebrospinal system.

3. These then are conditions as we find them with this body, Miss [1518]:

4. In times back, we find there was a strain and an injury to the lower abdomen. This has formed a lesion that makes for the incapacitating and the inactivity of the glandular forces as related to the ovarian reaction.

5. Hence we have those periods of great excitement; we have those periods of remorseness; we have those periods of reactions when the activities of the body appear to be distraught - unless it is active in some capacity of a mental or physical nature; and the disturbances at Periods - all arise from the variations in these conditions.

6. Naturally the whole of the blood supply is depleted. The cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems are distraught with the overnerve reactions in the body.

7. As we find, then:

8. OSTEOPATHIC ADJUSTMENTS (such as may be had from Shackleford) will make for corrections in these conditions. These will necessitate periods of treatments and then periods of rest; yet the beginnings must be very gentle - and not only the corrections through all of the cerebrospinal system in the upper portion but that gradual relaxation in the lumbar, sacral and coccyx - the area that is so distraught by the natural TENSIONS produced in the pelvic system.

9. If by the relaxing of the tensions from which those portions receive their nerve impulse the lesions about the ovaries do not relax, then we would have periods of applying

the Castor Oil Packs - that will be necessary.

10. If the change does not come about, or if the attention is not paid to these conditions, the reactions MUST be upon the MENTAL forces of this body.

11. The abilities, the faculties of the body ARE good. There must be given the opportunity for the expression in this experience.

12. Do that, as has been indicated, if we would bring the better conditions for this body.

13. As to advice regarding the activities and diet - this should come as suggestions from the one making the manipulative treatments.

14. But do not OVERSTIMULATE, in the beginning, until the lesions in the areas indicated are broken up. And do not attempt to create too great a quietness for the body until there begins to be better coordination between the sympathetic nerve system and the cerebrospinal.

15. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) Of what duration should the periods of treatments be, and the periods of rest? (A) The treatments should be about twice or three times a week for periods of three to four weeks; then a rest period of almost the same length; and then another period of treatment. But be mindful that, if there is not the relaxation through the abdominal area, about the ovaries and especially on the caecum side, there be applied the Castor Oil Packs; else we may produce a stimulation that would make for an activity that would be detrimental to the body. If the Castor Oil Packs are to be applied, have them heavy - hot as the body may stand, and be kept on for periods of three to four hours; the body gently sponged off afterwards with soda water. And then the next day give another period, and the next day another. Then when the osteopathic manipulations are given following same on the third day, it should be found that there will be a relaxation sufficiently that not only the stimulation from the coccyx and the sacral and lumbar areas may make for proper reaction but the relief of the stress and strain to the nervous system should soon show decided changes for the better.
