Brigham Hall Time of Reading Hospital, 3:45 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Canandaigua, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes.
2. As we find, there are a great many changes in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here. In some respects and conditions, so far as the mental coordination is concerned, there has been a great deal of improvement. In some other ways respecting same, it has not been so well. Also there are the acute physical conditions in the areas about the gall duct area.
3. Here we find, with the lack of the eliminations and lack of secretions or activities through the alimentary canal, we have a sedimentary condition - or a congestion in same.
4. Hence we would apply Castor Oil Packs; for THIS body NOT hot! but using two or three thicknesses of flannel saturated with Castor Oil and applied from the area of the rib on the right side to the groin, covering at least half of the abdomen. Of course, apply a towel or cloth over same so as to prevent the spreading or to prevent outside contact. Then put a hot pad or an electric pad over same; applying such heat over same for at least an hour and a half each day, for two or three days.
5. Then, after the third day, give a high enema; cleansing the colon.
6. We would THEN begin with a laxative of a vegetable nature. Senna would be very well as a base for such a laxative, or there may be used the CRC's if desired - that is, the Calomel, Rhubarb and Colocynth; or any of those that are not too great in activity so as to cause irritation, but sufficient in strength to make for activities.
7. Thus we find that these conditions would improve materially.
8. In the other general conditions we would keep much of the suggestion that has been indicated for the body.
9. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) Is there a gall bladder appendix?
1558-3 Page 2
(A) As indicated, there is naturally some inflammation; but with the application indicated we find that this should be overcome. The greater trouble, as we find, is in the gall duct rather than the bladder itself. If the suggestions are followed as indicated, we find that in three to four days the disturbance should be removed.
