Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
1. GC: You will have before you Mr. [1564], whose offices are on the 17th floor of the ... N.Y.C., especially with reference to the products which have been presented to him. You will consider each of these products separately and advise him regarding his interest in them. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the circumstances, the conditions which surround the body-activities, Mr. [1564].
3. In considering the product Furfluff, [See 1000-21, 12/24/38] - here, as we find - with the completion of the patents - there only needs be the outlining, or the process of presenting data or propaganda or advertising, for this to become a real success.
4. This is worthy of consideration. And if there can be the proper arrangements that are satisfactory to all, WE would give that this would be a real opportunity for the distribution of the product and the making of money.
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) What advice and suggestions may be given him at this time relative to work on such a proposition? (A) Just as given - make all contracts or agreements - as to those who own the patents - so that there will be no disturbance in this direction; and then the laying out of the program for the general distribution of same through all of those outlets where such may be distributed.
7. (Q) Would John [...], associated with Mr. [1564] in business be the proper person with whom to discuss the financing of this proposition? (A) As we find, while John [...] is efficient, there needs be no great amount paid for other than the regular routine of handling such. When this product, with its possibilities, is presented, there will be the greater scramble from all of the chain or department stores to enjoin themselves with this activity for the use and

distribution of such products. John [...] would be very well.
8. (Q) Would the Rithie [Ritchie] Company be the right ones to work out a sales and distribution contract for Furfluff? (A) Very well.
9. (Q) In just what way can Mr. [1564] be of the greatest assistance to Mrs. [1000] in advising her regarding her interest in the product? (A) This as we find is not the trouble but where there must be the surety of full agreements, so there is no disturbance later; and in making such, in bringing the assurance to the body, Mrs. [1000], of the honesty, integrity, the ability to handle the situation in all its phases. That is the manner in which the greater help may be given.
10. (Q) Would it be wise for him to suggest that Mrs. [1000] receive a royalty and a salary or a salary and stock interest? (A) Would advise that she given the opportunity of making the choice between the two. As to Mrs. [1000], salary AND the royalty would be the better proposition. But let her make the choice.
11. (Q) What percentage of interest would be fair for the Association for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., to receive? (A) That must be not as of any other than on a condition of its great distribution; and this should be set by those so interested - or between [1564] and Mrs. [1000].
12. (Q) What percentage of royalty would be fair for Mrs. [1000], for Mr. [1564] to suggest to her? (A) That which is the ordinary, upon such products. For while the perfecting of same, and the expenditures in its testing and the like have been a great consideration, - these should be then commensurate with that which is ordinarily given upon such as toothpaste, cream or the like.
13. (Q) Would you suggest a figure for that? (A) Give that as has been indicated as the figure!
14. (Q) Second: A synthetic rubber process presented by [1561]. Would it be wise for Mr. [1564] to become active in the promotion of the financing of this proposition? (A) When the usages and all have been worked out a little more complete, and as to the cost of the production of same, THEN it would be wise to consider such. This product, as we find, with some minor alterations in the manner in which it it produced, would be made to take the place of many that have been and are more expensive than would be with the final process in this proposition.

But there needs to be some more technical work done in this direction before there would be too great an expenditure in its distribution or use. If there is the DESIRE on the part of [1564] to assist in this part of the research, very well.
15. (Q) For what products or type of products can this be used? (A) As just indicated, this will come by the testing of same. Many of those things, though, where there has been used the shock absorbing, necessary products for such; those where there is used the such in car wheel construction will be of a GREAT advantage (this is trains, not motor cars!); where there are those connections in body-building in auto, in the various accessories - these are very well, and may be used to replace some that are - while there is plenty of such - those products that it may be used in, not merely instead of, but BETTER for usage in such things.
16. (Q) Any other suggestions or advice at this time regarding either product? (A) First, know that all agreements regarding Furfluff are agreeable with the owner, or with Mrs. [1000]. These the first. The rest should be very easy. In the synthetic rubber, as indicated, more research as to USAGES and cost of production of the product in research work is needed. And this, too, may become a very, very worth while product.
