1. EC: (In undertone - "Yes, some surroundings! International affairs - Mr. [1568].")
2. Yes, we have those conditions, those disturbing forces here with this body, Mr. [1568].
3. Now as we find, the disturbing forces or the causes are rather specific, while the effects of these are more subtle, and at times causes a great deal of inconvenience as well as anxiety.
4. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, Mr. [1568] we are speaking of:
5. The blood supply indicates the effects of an inflammatory condition through the digestive system; thus affecting the nervous system as well as the activities of the assimilating and distributing system. By distributing we mean the activity of the glandular force for the assimilating and preparing of those activities from the foods for their generative forces in the system itself.
6. These pressures upon the nervous system, however, cause a great many other disturbing conditions. For with the attempts of the system to supply sufficient circulation to affected parts under stress, some inconvenience is caused and some very disturbing conditions come to the extremities; especially as - at times - the feet, the soft tissue of the head and face, and the sensory system.
7. These are not always but become at times acute conditions.
8. As to the causes of these, then:
9. In the pyloric portion of the digestive system we find there has been that inclination for the swelling and closing, and at times lacerations. These have extended rather as cords, or the swelling of cords as it were, even to the upper portion or to the cardiac portion of stomach.
10. Hence we find the inclination for foods to at times react, without being acted upon by the gastric flows through

the digestive forces of the system.
11. Hence we find disturbing conditions.
12. While these in the present are not of the nature that need to cause any GREAT alarm, we find that it is necessary to take precautions respecting same to prevent more serious disturbances later.
13. These precautions will be necessary as to diet, as to those things that would act with the bodily forces themselves; thus bringing to the system ease or relief.
14. First: We would use Olive Oil; not in a large quantity at a time, but a little sip of same should be taken several times a day. Take just a sip, not even half a teaspoonful; just so there is the activity of same upon not only the glands of the digestive system but the salivary glands and through the esophagus, the cardiac and throughout the stomach, by the reaction of the ABSORPTION of same, without becoming disturbing to the system. This will be most helpful, if taken in this manner.
15. Also we will find it most helpful to take an ounce and a half of Saffron tea in the evening, before the evening meal. It would be prepared in this manner: Put about a teaspoonful of the American Saffron to a pint of boiling water (or pour the boiling water over same) and let steep as ordinary tea. This may be kept in the refrigerator or ice box and preserved for several days.
16. When there is pain, it is well that there be taken - in half a glass of water - a teaspoonful of THIS mixture: Lime Water....................1 ounce, Cinnamon Water................1 ounce, Iodide of Potassium..........20 minims, (10% solution) Bromide of Potassium.........30 minims. (10% solution) Take a dosage of this only when the pain is acute. This mixture should be prepared fresh every two or three weeks, and not kept longer than that.
17. We would also have at least twice a week for three to four weeks adjustments osteopathically, through specifically the areas from the 9th dorsal to the upper cervicals; and especially in the secondary cardiac plexus.
18. In the diet, then, we would refrain from any red meats or any strong drinks; that is, especially beer or hard drinks. Wine, especially red wine, may be taken in the late afternoon or evening - if taken more as a food than as a drink.
19. Beware of the combinations of starches. These become rather disturbing to the digestive forces.

20. If there is the tendency for a fullness or for the creating of gas through the stomach, or through the duodenum, after eating, then we would take a quarter or half a teaspoonful of Alcaroid in a glass of water. Take this after eating whenever there is the burning or the gas formation.
21. Do these, and we find that we will bring the better conditions for this body, Mr. [1568].
22. Ready for questions.
23. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file " " Mme. [1554]
