Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., New York. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes.
2. Now as we find, conditions are gradually growing serious. Unless there is some action taken for corrections, these will grow to be very serious disturbances.
3. These as we find are of rather a specific nature. Owing to pressures, as well as infectious forces, the lower hepatic circulations are the ones greatly involved. This to be sure is gradually working greater hardships upon the rest of the functioning system.
4. There is the inclination for a softening of the kidneys themselves, and their activity; and pus is sometimes formed. Thus there are the disturbances to the eliminations as through the bladder; so that puffs are indicated in parts of the feet and the face, and the general weakness through the small of the back, across the hips, and the upsetting of the digestive forces.
5. Then, as we find, that which under the circumstances would make for the better conditions would be:
6. Once or twice a day, rest sufficient period (one of these periods may be when the body goes to rest of an evening or night), and massage over the area from the middle portion of the back to the lower end of the spine with an equal combination of Mutton Suet, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. Massage into the area all that the body will absorb. Then rub two to three thicknesses of flannel thoroughly with the same mixture and apply this hot; adding, of course, an electric pad, that it may be kept warm.
7. Occasionally, once a week, take about half to an ounce of Watermelon Seed Tea; prepared in this manner: Crush the seed.
8. Put about a teaspoonful of the crushed seed in half a pint of boiling water, or pour the hot water on same, you see - in a crock container, NOT in tin or aluminum ware - and let it steep as ordinary tea, for ten to fifteen minutes. Then this taken warm, or as hot as the body can

drink it, will be the more preferable.
9. Also it would be well that once or twice a week the combination of the Mutton Suet, Turpentine and Camphor be massaged over the whole of the limbs.
10. Once every other day, for a minute or a minute and a half, use the lower form of electrical treatments as from the plain violet ray; not too strong, but this preferably with the hand - that is, rod applicator rather than with the bulb or any of the other mechanical applicators. Alter the applications from day to day; that is, the first treatment hold the rod in the right hand, the next treatment lay the applicator on a piece of glass and set the left foot on it and then turn on the electricity. The next day hold it in the left hand, the next treatment use it with the right foot. Keep on alternating the applications about, or around the body in this manner.
11. In the matter of the diet, keep away from ANY fried foods. Let the Jerusalem artichoke be a portion of the diet at least once or twice each week. Preferably cook these as you would boiled potatoes, but do not allow to cook too done although they should be cooked all the way through, you see. Take them up the minute they are cooked through.
12. Sea foods of all natures are most helpful, ESPECIALLY the shell fish of every nature.
13. Do not let tuberous vegetables be too much a part of the diet, other than the artichoke.
14. No white bread; rather the black or brown or whole wheat - these are preferable.
15. Not too much of tea or coffee, but the cereal drinks of any nature are very well. Coca-Cola occasionally as a beverage is very well. The reaction of the principal active forces in same is well in these conditions.
16. Do these as we find in the present for the betterment of the body.
17. Ready for questions.
18. We are through for the present. Copy to Mr. [412] " " Ass'n file
