The Baugh Infimary, Time of Reading Room 15, 4:10 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Decatur, Alabama. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1588].
2. Now as we find, there are definite conditions that disturb the physical forces of this body.
3. We find that there has been an injury to the sacral plexus, which has so inflamed the muscular forces and the lymph circulation through same as to produce the incapacity for walking, as well as reflexes that cause disturbance to the sensory system.
4. Hence we find it is rather a nerve condition.
5. The lights that have been and are being at times applied might under most conditions be beneficial, and in some respects are; but as we find - unless there are other conditions than indicated in the present - these will eventually cause a disfigurement that may not only leave the body physically incapacitated by the staying of muscular forces along the cerebrospinal system but also remain as injuries to the sympathetic nerve system as related to activities to the eyes, ears, taste and the sensory forces; and will be inclined to make more of cross-eyed conditions that would be hard to deal with.
6. Then, as we find:
7. Twice a day we would massage into the sacral, the lumbar and the whole of the lower spinal area - in fact, the whole of the cerebrospinal system - an equal combination of Olive Oil, Tincture of Myrrh and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. HEAT the Olive Oil to add the Myrrh and the Tincture of Benzoin. Massage this mixture into the body thoroughly twice a day, gently, to these areas especially.
8. To be sure, after the thorough rubbing, there will be required a general massage along these areas to keep the body quiet.
9. About twice a week massage Olive Oil into especially the groins and the whole of the limbs.
10. Then, occasionally, about once a week, apply the light -

OR preferably a very low violet ray; not the ultraviolet but the plain hand machine violet ray, bulb applicator.
11. A little LATER we find that the Infra-Red Ray would be most beneficial. Not the Sun Light, however, but the deeper penetrating ray. But this would not be applied under six weeks; that is, let the other applications be applied first for that long. And then about once or twice a week have the Infra-Red for thirty minutes, AFTER the Infra-Red light has heated; and let it be sufficiently far from the body as not to be of too great severity.
12. During the application of the Infra-Red it would be well that several times even during the period of application there be a gentle massage given over the sacral and lumbar areas.
13. These as we find offer the opportunities, and will - if properly applied and the proper precautions taken - bring about near to normal conditions for the body.
14. It may require a little long, but be patient and persistent.
15. This will also restore much of the disturbance in the sensory forces.
16. Do that.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) Was this from a recent injury, or one of long standing? (A) Not so long standing, but not a real recent injury; some years - a fall, a hurt.
