R E A D I N G
Time of Reading 3:40 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Body and enquiring mind, who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his health, his mental and material and social affairs; also as to world affairs, and as to how he may bring about a betterment of all of these. Questions.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [1598]; those relations, those activities in these as with conditions relating to world affairs.
2. In the body we find that very good conditions exist in the greater portion of the system; and the reactions are very good as related to the balance between the circulatory forces and the heart's activity.
3. However, we find that near to some twenty years ago there was created an injury in the caecum, or in the SACRAL as affected FROM the caecum and the activity of the lower portion of the lumbar axis; which has caused an inclination for a lesion.
4. Hence these areas as we find should have some MECHANICAL adjustments; though these had better be made under the hydrotherapy AND the masseur method than direct; for the relaxing of the body would be necessary in the making of same.
5. These as we find, if they are done, would relieve that tendency not only for the thickening of the walls through portions of the sphincter centers and muscular forces but relieve that tension in the locomotor as as related to the sciatics. Also there would be a relief not only to the nerve system but to the general welfare of the body, especially as conditions would develop from these - if not removed - that would become greater pressures upon portions of the system.
6. This then we would do, through the hydrotherapy AND massage; such as may be had through Berg or Reilly.
7. In relationships to world conditions:

8. Any who seek such information, as we have indicated, had best be in the position to do something about same. For that given becomes then not only a duty but an obligation upon the part of those to whom such may be given, in the nature of the relationships that exist.
9. As has been given, however, that which has prevented and does prevent the whole of civilization becoming a turmoil is the attempt of those who have the ideals of the Prince of Peace at HEART! And as of old, the prayers of ten may save a city; the prayers of twenty-five may save a nation - as the prayers and activities of ONE may! but in union there is strength.
10. Then if that purpose would be kept, then it must ever be kept in mind that we ARE our brother's keeper!

12. (Q) What was the matter with my back a year or two ago? What should I do about it now? (A) With the adhesions and lesions that formed from an injury that became a part of the experience nearly TWENTY years ago, the pressures created by the activities of acidity in system were upon the nerves of those areas indicated. Hence the manner of eliminating same would be the removal of the pressures through the HYDROTHERAPY applications, with massage, as we find.
13. (Q) How often would you advise the hydrotherapy treatments? (A) At first, at least twice a week for a couple of weeks; then once a week for about three or four weeks; and then possibly once in three months should be sufficient.
14. (Q) Any specific advice as to taking these; as to any special kind? (A) Have the general applications as related to such. First have the thorough relaxation, either by cabinet or fume bath heat; and then the water treatment - which is both cold and hot; and the general AND THOROUGH massage, with specific reference to the areas indicated - the lumbar axis throughout the sacral and coccyx area.
15. (Q) Could any hope be offered through this channel for treatment of my friend, [1600] in ..., Florida, with his broken back, paralysis from the waist down? (A) As we find, the channel offered through which help might come for this body would be through the applications of the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Gold; AND a gentle massage with Oils to carry the influence of the pulsations created by same through the lower limbs. The attachments would be made in this manner:

The small or copper plate would be attached first, at the lumbar or lumbar axis; while the larger or nickel plate - through which the Gold Solution passes (in the proportions of two grains of Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water) - would be attached last, over the umbilicus and lacteal duct plexus. Attach the Appliance in this manner each day for thirty minutes, for twenty-six days. Then leave off for a period of two to three weeks. Then have another series of the electrical vibrations, recharging the Appliance; and continue in this manner for at least the third or fourth series. During the two to three weeks rest period BETWEEN the applications - that is, before the next series is begun, we would use each evening the massage with the oils; but NOT during the periods when the Appliance is used, see? For such massaging, use an equal combination of Tincture of Myrrh, Olive Oil and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Heat the Oil to add the Myrrh and the Benzoin. Massage gently, all the body will absorb, along the cerebrospinal system, you see - DOWNWARD, always. This, of course, would only be used at the periods when the electrical applications are NOT being used, as indicated. After the third or fourth series of these applications, we should find excellent results, provided there is KEPT the same attitude towards the use of the mechanical influences for the body as there is towards the applications of justice to the fellow man. For, know: All influence and force of GOOD only arises from one source. All that exists then in the material world of GOOD, applied in that direction, is from that ONE SOURCE.
16. (Q) Should I follow up my psychic contacts through Dr. MacBeth [Edmund A. MacBeth, M.D. and Spiritualist healer] with Tobe in the spirit world? or through Mrs. Johnson with Dr. Murphy, formerly of Chicago? or with Dr. Hardwicke? or anyone in England this summer? (A) If self is well founded in its purposes, very well. Do not hinder, however, the advancement of any disincarnate entity by the use of its influences in material planes. You would not seek nor desire to be hindered. Neither would you ask that yourself be imposed upon others, other than that He - your Master - would direct.

17. (Q) What is the outlook for world war? Will it arise over Czechoslovakia, China, or Spain? and what will America do? (A) These are large questions, asked in an easy manner! As we have indicated, America MUST pray more and act like it prays; or else be drawn into that which has been indicated (through this channel) would cause civilization to move - ever - westward. We find that the greater disturbances will arise over the ATTEMPT of the division of spoils in Spain, than there has been over the conditions which have brought about the turmoil. If the same attitude is kept in China, the EVENTUAL conquering of self in China will be brought about; and there will be lack of interference then from without. The turmoils over Czechoslovakia are gradually being disseminated - but there will be portions, of course, that will be absorbed by the German influence.
18. (Q) Will America be drawn into the coming war? (A) That depends upon that just indicated. If America acts AS it prays, no! If it acts in one manner and prays in another, or if there is allowed to be the ruling of those who seek for greater aggrandizement or the fulfilling of self's own desires, then it will be eventually drawn into war.
19. (Q) I am writing a book. Can you help me, from the hall of records? Who actually wrote the four Gospels? In what order? and when were they written? (A) These as we find may BEST be determined by the investigations of the records as related to same; that is, to satisfy self as to its claim - or a physical record - in the Vatican's own libraries. These will be accessible, or made accessible, if there is the seeking, during this present year. As we find, this will be the manner in which these are indicated; but VERIFY same for self's OWN understanding, as well as self's satisfaction: MARK was first dictated, greatly by Peter; and this in those periods just before Peter was carried to Rome. The next was MATTHEW, written by the one whose name it bears - AS for the SPECIFIC reasons - to those who were scattered into the upper portions of Palestine and through Laodicea. This was written something like thirty-three to four years

later than MARK; and while this body - that wrote same - was in exile. LUKE was written by Lucius, rather than Luke; though a companion with Luke during those activities of Paul; and written, of course, unto those of the faith under the Roman INFLUENCE - not to the Roman peoples but to the provinces ruled BY the Romans! and it was from those sources that the very changes were made, as to the differences in that given by MARK and MATTHEW. JOHN was written by several; not by the John who was the beloved, but the John who REPRESENTED or who was the scribe FOR John the beloved; and - as much of same - was written much later. Portions of it were written at different times and combined some fifty years after the Crucifixion.
20. (Q) Should I spend this year in speaking, or writing, or what? (A) WHAT! This as we find would be the better, for this would include BOTH speaking and writing - or in gathering data FOR the preparations of writing in the latter portion, or the next year; for after that you'll be rather busy!
